Kenwood's KCA-iP302 cable connects your compatible iPod or iPhone® to select 2011-up Kenwood multimedia receivers with a USB input, plus separate audio and video 3.5mm mini-jack inputs. This cable allows you to control your iPod content with the Kenwood's controls, and it charge your device as you drive. Once connected, you'll enjoy listening to your music when you're on the road, and viewing video content when parked.
This cable currently works with Kenwood's DNX9980HD, KVT-696, and KVT-516 receivers. Warranty: 1 year.
An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music.
Works with kvt 696. Used apple 30 pin to lightning adapter for iphone 5s still works perfect. Should work with 2011 up radios.
This particular item was self explanatory, very easy installation just plugged in behind unit...that was it now I wish everything in life was just a plug in an push lol
Pros: Easy as 123,ABC
Cons: -0- none whatsoever!
This cable works great. No connections issues.
Pros: Easy installation. Works as described with my head unit. Ipod works flawlessly.
First, I bought one of those cables from eBay and had nothing but problems. That cable wouldn't allow videos to be played, album art to be displayed correctly, and the sound quality was horrible. The cable from Crutchfield works flawlessly. Videos can be played, album art displays perfectly, and the sound quality is amazing. I highly recommend this product.
Pros: Works perfectly, long cable, made specifically for kenwood
Cons: Cable is pretty thick, should come with decks these days
If you are looking to buy one of these cords then you must buy this one. Stay away from the cheap eBay cords because you will be sorry you did. Stick with the OEM cord and it will give you nothing but happiness. No problems at all.
Pros: Very sturdy and reliable.
Cons: None so far
Works nice love it
This is my 3rd cable. They tend to fall apart after a few months. I wish they made them more durable for every day use. Cable works great tho
Pros: Works awesome
Cons: Falls apart easily, have to replace it every couple months
Item works as stated, great addition to any Kenwood video unit.
Perfect replacement for a three year old cable that stopped working
Worked as advertised...arrived quickly! I am very satisfied.
The connections were obvious and the results were everything you could hope for. It not only worked with my iPhone 4, but also my iPad (I haven't tried and iPad 2). It not only plays music, but also video, as long as the video is accessible via iPod app.
It will not play other video, for example it won't play YouTube videos. The iPhone / iPad will indicate on it's own screen that a TV is connected and playing the video, but there is no reaction from the receiver. I believe this to be a limitation of the software in my particular Kenwood receiver, and not the cable connector..

It works for the audio but as far as video, no go.I can't even play video from my ipod to the deck at times. And yes , my deck worked well as far as controlling the music from the iphone, Hope this may help.Sorry for the delayed response. Brent [ BRENT Sep 24, 2014 ]
do not use this cable for the iphone 5.set the radios av input 2 to just audio video input and not ipod in put .then just plug in the usb direct. it will work fine [ GARY L Jul 23, 2014 ]
Sorry, I only use my Nano iPod with this cable. But, it does work with audio and video, and yes I can control everything from the Kenwood touch screen. [ GENE R Jul 22, 2014 ]
