Product Research
Features
Compatibility: This changer is compatible with Kenwood changer controllers made in 1998 and later. There is no O-N switch, so it cannot be connected to pre-1998 controllers.
Digital Optimum Servo Control (DOSC): This circuitry enables the CD changer to determine each disc's reflection rate and the modulation rate of its pits, enabling the changer to set the ideal servo gain for each disc. DOSC also adjusts servo gain and balance when it encounters vibration, scratches, dust, or fingerprints, reducing mistracking and skipping.
Precision Digital Timing (DPAC): A high-precision master clock circuit that is isolated from signal-processing circuits to eliminate interference. This ensures that digital information is processed at exactly the same rate as it was recorded, eliminating jitter (time-based errors that make music sound harsh).
Digital Filter: This unit has an 8-times oversampling digital filter, which is a circuit that removes most of the unwanted digital data from a digital audio waveform while it's still in the digital form. This allows the use of much gentler, better sounding analog filters when the digital waveform is converted back to an analog music signal.
Integrated Quad 1-Bit Digital-to-Analog Converter: Four digital-to-analog converters, two for each channel, improve playback sound quality, including musical detail and resolution. Using two converters for each channel reduces distortion by half.
Anti-Vibration Disc Transport: The disc transport mechanism uses soft butyl rubber insulators for exceptional shock resistance, along with ceramic-injected silicon oil that absorbs jarring vibrations even at extreme temperatures, reducing skipping and mistracking.
CD Compatibility: This unit will play prerecorded CDs, finalized CD-R discs, and finalized CD-RW discs.
CD Text: When playing CD Text encoded CDs, this changer will transmit the data for display on compatible Kenwood head units equipped with CD Text display capability.
Disc Naming: When used with a compatible head unit, the changer allows Disc Naming for 100 discs and up to 12 characters for each disc name.
Mounting Angles: You can install this changer at a 0-5 degree, 40-50 degree, or 85-90 degree angle. There are angle switching dials on both sides of the unit that must be set to agree with the mounting angle of the unit. Note: The supplied mounting brackets are for horizontal and vertical mounts only relative to the surface the changer is mounted to. Mounting the changer at a 40-50 degree angle requires mounting the changer to a flat surface, angled at 40-50 degrees, using the brackets in the horizontal position.
Dimensions: The changer dimensions at each mounting angle are as follows:
Measurements (including brackets) | Horizontal Mount 0-5 degrees | Vertical Mount 85-90 degrees |
---|---|---|
Width | 12.007" | 11.98" |
Height | 3.445" | 7.425" |
Depth | 7.154" | 3.201" |

Purchased this unit and a Kenwood KRC-335 deck for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Installation was easy, shock suppression is great and it's so convenient. I especially like the ability to randomly shuffle through the entire 10-disc cartridge. Lots of sound for a small price.
