Features

Compatibility: This changer is compatible with Kenwood changer controllers made in 1998 and later. There is no O-N switch, so it cannot be connected to pre-1998 controllers.

Digital Optimum Servo Control (DOSC): This circuitry enables the CD changer to determine each disc's reflection rate and the modulation rate of its pits, enabling the changer to set the ideal servo gain for each disc. DOSC also adjusts servo gain and balance when it encounters vibration, scratches, dust, or fingerprints, reducing mistracking and skipping.

Precision Digital Timing (DPAC): A high-precision master clock circuit that is isolated from signal-processing circuits to eliminate interference. This ensures that digital information is processed at exactly the same rate as it was recorded, eliminating jitter (time-based errors that make music sound harsh).

Digital Filter: This unit has an 8-times oversampling digital filter, which is a circuit that removes most of the unwanted digital data from a digital audio waveform while it's still in the digital form. This allows the use of much gentler, better sounding analog filters when the digital waveform is converted back to an analog music signal.

Integrated Quad 1-Bit Digital-to-Analog Converter: Four digital-to-analog converters, two for each channel, improve playback sound quality, including musical detail and resolution. Using two converters for each channel reduces distortion by half.

Anti-Vibration Disc Transport: The disc transport mechanism uses soft butyl rubber insulators for exceptional shock resistance, along with ceramic-injected silicon oil that absorbs jarring vibrations even at extreme temperatures, reducing skipping and mistracking.

CD Compatibility: This unit will play prerecorded CDs, finalized CD-R discs, and finalized CD-RW discs.

CD Text: When playing CD Text encoded CDs, this changer will transmit the data for display on compatible Kenwood head units equipped with CD Text display capability.

Disc Naming: When used with a compatible head unit, the changer allows Disc Naming for 100 discs and up to 12 characters for each disc name.

Mounting Angles: You can install this changer at a 0-5 degree, 40-50 degree, or 85-90 degree angle. There are angle switching dials on both sides of the unit that must be set to agree with the mounting angle of the unit. Note: The supplied mounting brackets are for horizontal and vertical mounts only relative to the surface the changer is mounted to. Mounting the changer at a 40-50 degree angle requires mounting the changer to a flat surface, angled at 40-50 degrees, using the brackets in the horizontal position.

Dimensions: The changer dimensions at each mounting angle are as follows:

Measurements (including brackets) Horizontal Mount
0-5 degrees
Vertical Mount
85-90 degrees
Width 12.007" 11.98"
Height 3.445" 7.425"
Depth 7.154" 3.201"

Kenwood KDC-C719 Review

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been using a Kenwood KDC-C717 since 1998, and it is still working. The Kenwood KDC-C717 and the Kenwood KDC-C719 are very much the same, so that is why I bought a Kenwood KDC-C719 for another vehicle in 10/12.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product was purchased for my son's car and he is very happy with this product. The only disappointment is that the CD changer will not read music in an MP3 format. I would recommend this product and have found it to be a very good buy.

Disc Changer

Written By D, Arizona on Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent disc changer, good quality sound and good value for the price. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it doesn't have the option to mix all the CDs, but other than that: so far, so good! I'm happy!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This disc changer works great. It was easy to install into my factory stereo. I needed the adapter cable for it to work. With help from the on line chat we determind the right adapter for my car. Thanks, now I have some tunes to listen to.

Have 2 now

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have two now, one in each car. One car had a stock CD changer, and this unit fits perfectly where that was (and gives me four more discs), for a factory look with better sound quality. I have one mounted horizontally and one vertically, and both work perfectly and never skip.

Couldn't be easier

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just like everything else from Crutchfield, installiing this CD Changer couldn't have been easier. I hooked it up to my existing Kenwood stereo (also purchased from Crutchfield) and everything went smoothly. This CD changer works quite nicely and seems to move from disc to disc quickly. I don't have much experience with other changers so I can't say how fast or slow it is comparatively but it doesn't make me wait long when I move from one disc to another. I also very much enjoy the disc naming ability so I can easily see which of my 10 discs I am listenign to without having to remember what disc is in which slot.

Great changer

Written By Bennyboy, Newark, NJ. on Sunday, January 21, 2007

Just receive mine for Christmas, what a great changer, no skiping at all.. Plays CDRW, CD's great. One day I hit a big mountain hole, and the changer did not skip a beat. The changer sounds just as good as my radio player, which is a Kenwood too. One of the best changer on the market.

Easy to install

Written By Fred, Springfield, VA on Monday, November 27, 2006

Installation was easier than I anticipated, although the directions were a little sketchy for replacing a factory CD changer. Finally figured it out with the help of Crutchfield techs and it works great.

My only complaint about the Kenwood is that the CD trays pull all the way out and are rather flimsy. The original factory changer (Sony) was a lot easier to load and unload. But I couldn't locate one of those.

The Kenwood was marked down to $149 in the scratched and dented section, so I made out. All the parts were there, but you could tell the screws had been used before. Not a big deal, since everything was in the box!

Lots of Sound, Small Price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased this unit and a Kenwood KRC-335 deck for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Installation was easy, shock suppression is great and it's so convenient. I especially like the ability to randomly shuffle through the entire 10-disc cartridge. Lots of sound for a small price.
