Sleek, simple, and solid

Kenwood Excelon receivers deliver great performance by infusing extensive sound-sculpting tools and intuitive controls with the latest car stereo technology. The KDC-X798 CD receiver includes Bluetooth® for hands-free calling and audio streaming your favorite music, built-in HD Radio™ for crystal-clear radio broadcasts, dual USB ports, and ultra-clean 4-volt preamp outputs for your amplifiers. And Kenwood backs up this versatile receiver with a 2-year warranty.

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X798 CD receiver

Advantage: Bluetooth

Bluetooth gives you hands-free calling convenience, plus a wireless connection to the songs stored on your compatible music player. If you're an iPhone® addict, the KDC-X798 gives you full Siri Eyes Free control with compatible Siri-equipped iPhones. If you're an Android® user, you'll love this receiver's simple, secure pairing (SSP) technology.

Once you're paired up, you can talk hands-free by simply touching the dedicated "phone" button when a call comes in. And the receiver can alert you when you receive text messages, which you can read when you're out of the car. You can install the external Bluetooth microphone in a good spot inside your vehicle for superior hands-free communication.

HD Radio for awesome sound

When you tune in a local station broadcasting an HD Radio signal, you'll hear FM that's close to CD quality or AM that comes in clear and static-free. And unlike satellite services, you pay no subscription fees. If your iPod's hooked up to the KDC-X798, you can also tag songs that you hear on HD Radio, then buy them later online. And most participating stations send out secondary programming, giving you more choices when you're in the mood for radio.

Even more radio

If you listen to Internet radio on your iPhone or Android, you can use this receiver's controls to play music from Pandora® and iHeartRadio® Internet radio. You can scroll through your stations, bookmark songs, and give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down right from the receiver's face. And speaking of radio, you can add a satellite radio tuner to this Kenwood, and get into the in-depth music and entertainment programming provided by SiriusXM.

Tweak and display your tunes

The KDC-X798's 3-band parametric equalizer lets you adjust the centerpoint of your treble, midrange, and bass controls. You can use the low-pass frequency filter and phase control to tune the bass going to your subwoofer — then you can set the high-pass filter for your other speakers so they'll play more efficiently. You can adjust the variable-color display so this Kenwood looks right at home in your dash, while dust covers protect the CD slot, aux input, and front-panel USB port.

Dual USB ports

The receiver's front and rear USB ports allow you to access and control the music stored on your iPhone or Android phone. And the ports can handle MP3, WMA, AAC, or WAV music files on a thumb drive too. Here's a nice feature from Kenwood — Drive Change allows you to connect a memory card reader or USB hub to the Kenwood's USB inputs and select music from up to five memory cards or USB flash drives.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Kenwood Excelon stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Kenwood, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. Excelon Series: The KDC-X798 CD receiver is part of Kenwood's Excelon series line-up. It incorporates the latest technologies and delivers the highest sonic performance. From advanced audio tuning capabilities, crossover and equalizer system, high-voltage preouts (4V), plus a two-year warranty - Kenwood Excelon represents exceptional audio quality with long-lasting dependability.

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Kenwood KDC-X798 utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The Kenwood KDC-X798 is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the KDC-X798 are as follows:

    • Full Bandwidth Power: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
    • Maximum Output Power: 50 watts x 4 channels

6ch/4V Preamp Outputs + Sub Control: The KDC-X798 features front, rear and subwoofer 4-volt preamp outputs. The front and rear speaker preamp outputs are balance and fade adjustable. The subwoofer preamp output is non-fading. The KDC-X798 offers the following subwoofer controls, when you are using unit's subwoofer preamp output.

    • Low Pass Filter: The receiver features a built-in Low Pass Filter control for the preamp-output, when the output is set to Subwoofer. You can select from 85 Hz, 120 Hz, 160 Hz, or off.
    • Subwoofer Phase: You can adjust the phase of the subwoofer output between 180-degrees (Reverse) or 0-degrees (Normal).
    • Subwoofer Level: Once the Subwoofer preamp output is activated, you can independently control the subwoofer preamp output level (-15 to +15) from the CD receiver.

Front & Rear High-Pass Filter: The KDC-X798 features a High-Pass Crossover for the front & rear channels when your front & rear speakers are connected by the unit's speaker-outputs or preamp-outputs. You can adjust the high-pass crossover from "Through", 100, 120, or 150 Hz. The "Through" selection is a full-range setting.

Speaker Settings: The Speaker Setting function tailors the head unit's audio settings according to the type of speakers in your vehicle. You may select a Speaker Setting of 'SP-Off' (flat/off), 'SP-OEM' (for OEM factory speaker systems), 'SP-6x9/6' (for systems with 6" and 6"x9" speakers), or 'SP-5/4' (for systems with 4" and 5" speakers).

EQ Pro: The KDC-X798 is equipped with Kenwood's EQ Pro. The integrated equalizer offers 8 preset sound modes (Rock, Pops, Easy, Top 40, Jazz, Natural, Drive EQ, or User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The Drive EQ mode is an EQ preset that helps reduce road noise. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).

    EQ Pro
    Frequency Level Q
    Bass 60, 80, 100, 200 Hz -8 to +8 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0
    Midrange 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5 kHz -8 to +8 0.75, 1.0, 1.25
    Treble 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 kHz -8 to +8 Fixed
Note: You can store EQ Pro bass, middle and treble tone settings for each source (Disc, Tuner, Aux, USB, iPod, Bluetooth, and Pandora/iHeart Radio).

Sound Enhancements: The head unit provides further sound enhancements for your car audio system.

    • Bass Boost: The Kenwood CD receiver features a Bass Boost control that can be set to the following levels (BB1, BB2, BB3, or Off).
    • Loudness: This function enhances low and high frequencies to make the sound clearer lower volumes. There are 3 levels (LV1, LV2, or Off).
    • Sound Reconstruction: When MP3 or WMA files encoded at a low bit rate (less than 96 kbps, 44.1k, 48kHz) are played, the Sound Reconstruction function restores their high frequencies so the sound quality is closer to files encoded at a high bit rate. The processing is optimized for the compression format and the bit rate used. When Sound Reconstruction is Off, the unit plays the original sound stored in the audio file.

Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -8 to 0 (-8 to +8 for Aux source).

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Kenwood KDC-X798 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (ver. 2.1 + EDR) allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.3 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

Secure Simple Pairing (SSP) + Auto Pairing (for iPhone): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the Kenwood KDC-X798 without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a paired Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. You can pair up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices to the Kenwood head unit with a maximum of two Bluetooth phones and one Bluetooth audio player connected at one time (but only one can be used at a time). You can even pair your Apple iPhone by simply connecting it to the Kenwood head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display.

Hands-Free Communication w/ External Mic: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The controls of the KDC-X798 can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers. During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

    • Answering a Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the head unit's front-panel controls, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call immediately or after 1-30 seconds. The KDC-X798 also supports the Call Waiting function, so you can answer another incoming call while suspending the current call you are on. Your compatible cell-phone must also support this feature.

      • Phone Book: You can dial by using the downloaded phone book. You can download phone book data from your cell phone to the KDC-X798. Up to 600 numbers can be stored for each registered cell phone. Each number can be up to 32 digits long and each name can be up to 50 characters long. Stored phone numbers can be categorized by General, Home, Office, Mobile, or Other. You can search each category of the phone book in alphabetical order.
      • Call History: The Call History is a list of calls that have originated from and were received by this unit that you can dial. You can select Outgoing, Incoming, or Missed calls.
      • Voice Dialing: If your mobile phone supports voice recognition, then you can dial out by voice command. Simply speak into the included microphone.

Note: The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level and noise cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash. The external microphone measures 0.525" (diameter) x 1.505" (depth).

The KDC-X798 will be able to control basic playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as Play/Pause, Skip Next/Previous, Fast Forward/Rewind and Random/Repeat. The head unit will also display your stored music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title. The KDC-X798 also supports audio streaming of music apps downloaded on your smartphone with metadata display and limited control. Advanced music control of your music apps will still need be done via your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Siri Eyes Free Control: When paired and connected with an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth (not USB), the Kenwood KDC-BT858 has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. Simply press-and-hold down on the head unit's Answer Button to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the KDC-X798 and its microphone. The head unit's display will only indicate hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the Kenwood KDC-X798; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).

Note: You can ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

    Disc & USB Playback

Disc Compatibility: The unit features a single disc player that will playback CD-Audio and finalized CD-R/CD-RW audio discs. The unit also supports playback of MP3/WMA/AAC music files loaded onto CD-R/RW discs. The CD slot is hidden behind a manual fold-up cover which blends in the front-panel of the head unit.

Dual USB Ports: The Kenwood KDC-X798 features a front panel USB (type-A) port that is hidden behind a flip-up cover and a rear-panel USB (type-A) port attached to the rear-chassis by a 38" cable. Music Control for Android Smartphone: The Kenwood Music Control app for Android organizes your Android smartphone's music, while providing quick and easy search capability from the Kenwood CD receiver. The free Kenwood Music Control App for Android can be downloaded onto your Android smartphone from the Google Play App Store. Your Android smartphone must be running Android OS Froyo or Gingerbread (2.2+). Once the app is downloaded and has a chance to organize all the stored music on your Android smartphone, you can connect your Android smartphone to the Kenwood CD receiver via USB (your compatible Android smartphone must be recognized as a USB mass storage class device; not compatible with MTP protocol). The Kenwood Music Control app offers the following Android supported functions.

    • Song Management: Music stored in your Android smartphone can be navigated from the Kenwood CD receiver. Songs can be easily selected by searching for a Song title, Artist name, Album label, or Genre.
    • Song Information Display: Song information such as Artist name, Song title, and Album label are displayed on the connected Kenwood CD receiver.
    • Mood Playlist: Playlists can be created by classifying songs into categories by type of mood. Songs are analyzed and classified into the following categories of moods - High Energy (Active/Powerful/Core), Acoustic (Detailed/Simple/Smooth/Easy), Standard (Dynamic/Rockin/Vivid), Stylistic (Cool/Urban/Trance)
    • Intro Skip: This function allows you to choose and listen to only the hook-lines of songs stored in your Android smartphone.
Note: When the Kenwood Music Control app is first downloaded it will require some time to populate all the music, so we suggest doing this overnight.

Aux In: The unit is equipped with a front panel 3.5mm minijack auxiliary input that can be used to input audio from a portable audio source, such as a portable MP3 player. The Aux input must be turned on to function. The head unit allows you to select the source type displayed when using the auxiliary input. You can choose from AUX, DVD, Portable, Game, Video, or TV. The unit has three aux input modes.

    HD+Internet+SiriusXM Radio

Built-In HD Tuner: With its built-in HD Radio tuner, you can receive digital AM/FM broadcasts from local stations where available. HD Radio significantly improves AM/FM audio quality and reception, as well as includes information such as artist name and song titles or traffic news, viewable on the receiver's display. HD Radio Technology will deliver high-quality digital sound. AM digital will have FM-like quality in stereo (70dB SN @ 40-15kHz), while FM digital will have CD-like quality (75 dB SN @ 20-20kHz) with static free and clear reception. The unit's built-in HD Radio tuner allows analog AM/FM tuning as well.

    • Receive Mode: You can setup the KDC-X798 to receive both analog and digital radio stations (Auto), only HD Radio stations (Digital), or only analog radio stations (Analog).
    • Seek + Direct Tuning: You can choose one of three seek modes: Auto 1 (seek tuning), Auto 2 (cycles through and tunes the selected band's preset stations only with each button press), or Manual. You can directly access an AM/FM station by entering in the frequency number using the include wireless remote control.
    • Tuner Presets: The KDC-X798's tuner features 3 FM banks (1, 2, 3) and 1 AM bank for storing presets. Not only does the CD receiver's tuner allow you manually enter your desired presets you can choose to have the unit automatically put stations with good reception in the memory banks automatically; this is a handy feature when traveling. The Kenwood KDC-X798 offers two preset modes.
      • Normal: You can store 6 presets for each AM/FM bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets (total of 24).
      • Mix: A total of 6 preset stations can be assigned to the head unit's 6 preset buttons, regardless of AM/FM band. This lets you recall a preset station without switching between bands.
    • Station Text + Multicasting: AM/FM digital stations can offer text and data such as artist names and song titles.  In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio broadcasting it is possible to choose from up to 8 multicast programs (HD1 to HD8).
    • iTunes Tagging: It is possible to save the song's information (tag) from and HD Radio broadcasting station to your USB-direct connected iPod/iPhone. The songs will show up in a playlist called "Tagged" in iTunes (7.4 or later) the next time you sync your iPod/iPhone. Then you can directly buy the songs you want from the iTunes Music Store. Your iPod/iPhone must have at least 50MB of free space to "tag" and transfer songs. You can "tag" up to 50 songs.

Note: HD Radio is the system for digital AM and FM broadcasting in the U.S. More than 2,000 radio stations are broadcasting their primary signals in digital HD Radio technology, as a free service. Go to HDRadio.com to check for HD Radio stations in your area.

I bought this to replace an older Kenwood HU. I loved the sound of the old unit but changing stations and navigating the menu was too difficult to do while driving. Not to mention dangerous. I also wanted to upgrade to bluetooth hands free calling and HD Radio. I like that I have radio preset BUTTONS now and don't have to use the touchy toggle on my old Kenwood. Other than running the hands free microphone, installation took less than 5 minutes due to my previous unit being a Kenwood purchased from Crutchfield and all the connectors were the same.

Pros: Bluetooth hands free calling, HD Radio, Front and Rear USB, 4 volt output to amps, too many to list all.

    Cons: It wasn't free?

Needed to update the factory system with BT. Little did I know the challenge of doing this on a 2004 Accord. I chose to leave the factory Radio / HVAC system in place rather than go with the more expensive replacement dash piece. The Kenwood part was fairly straight forward. The Maestro part was another story. The instructions there were kind of backwards, misleading me into cutting the wrong wires. The support team at Crutchfield was amazing. I probably called 15 times over the period of a month (I had to wait for nice days where I could work outside). Ultimately, with some good guidance from support, I was able to barely correct the mistakes I made and get everything working.

I bought this to replace a 5 yr old Jensen head unit that did not have Bluetooth. I spend a lot of time on the phone in my car for my work. The install was straight forward and simply fit into the DIN mount from my previous unit. Right away I noticed better sound quality than my Jensen unit. This sounds great! It was fairly easy to figure out the controls. The biggest disappointment (mentioned in other reviews) is that the display washes out in bright sunlight. At night and on overcast days the changeable color display looks great but if the sun is out the display disappears during the day. The Bluetooth took a bit to get to pair but once I paired the first device and realized to ignore the pairing number and just accept it, it paired fine. One other minor disappointment is that my previous head unit had a startup volume setting so you wouldn't forget to turn the volume down when you parked the car and blow your head off next time you startup. This unit does not. The unit also has front and rear USB ports and an AUX input. With the Bluetooth audio I do not use the USB or AUX. You can disable the Aux but not the USB on the display so you have to scroll through the USB each time you change the function.

Overall, this is a great unit, easy to use with fabulous sound quality but with a few minor disappointment.

Pros: Great sound quality, fairly easy to master controls. Easy install

Cons: Display that is very hard to see in sunlight. No startup volume control. It would be nice to be able to deconfigure USB and AUX to simplify the display.

Great sounding unit. Love the XM and the HD radio. There is a big difference between regular fm and HDFM. Was bluetooth compatible to my Nexus 7 pad and cell phone,( my cell phone is a flip phone that is older than MA BELL ), and they match up with no problem..

Pros: Great sound, all the whistle and bells, looks good and following the Crutchfield support team I installed it like I was a captain on the " GEEK SQUAD ".....

    Cons: Wish display was brighter...

This is a great stereo, it has all the features that i needed to build my system. The mic works good for phone calls and phone commands. higher voltage rca outputs for the amps, large display for easy reading. the only thing that bothers me is that the clock display is so small. Other than that, this is the highest model that still has preset buttons on the front at a reasonable price.

Pros: high volt rca clean look plenty of sound adjustment

    Cons: small clock display

Nice looking stereo with all the features I wanted and more for a reasonable price.

Pros: Cool faceplate. Colored lights make display easy to read except in bright sunlight. Two USB ports plus an aux input! Great installation instructions with exception noted below.

Cons: It was a little difficult to shove the gigantic wiring harnesses back into the dash and still have room for the stereo. Wiring diagrams left out specific instructions for several wires.

Great sound quality from a mid-priced unit. Good looks and is easy to operate. Reading the manual and practicing the features is a requirement. It does a lot so using it takes a little time and practice to learn but is worth it. Easy to understand song lyrics with the top car down. I replaced a 15 year old factory unit and removed a 6-disk CD changer to use this unit. It is a very worthwhile exchange.

Pros: Easy installation, good looks, digital FM sounds great, analog FM is good too, CD and USB inputs both work well, 2 USB for easier use.

Cons: FM receiver is less sensitive than the stock unit it replaced so some stations heard before are not able to be heard now. Display is too dim in my convertible with the top down.

Excellent reception and sound quality. EQ Pro settings are versatile, still learning what sounds the best. My Honda Civic has a nasty high bass hump in the 150-200 Hz region which drowns out the real bass. The EQ Pro is able to reduce it via the Bass Level, Center Freq and Q-Factor, while using the Bass Boost and Loudness to recover the lower bass. It would be easy to add a subwoofer later on. The Audio Functions are stored for each source: I can kick up the highs for AM, store the setting and not have to readjust when I go to a different band or source. Bought the Kenwood speakers as well: 20% sound improvement is from the speakers and 80% is from the KDC-X798. The component tweeters were fit in the Honda tweeter grilles in the front of the dash with hot melt glue: no easy adapters were furnished as they were for the door and rear deck units. Th tweeters are too efficient! I need to put in rheostats to reduce their output, but they are real detailed in their sound. I called Kenwood to send more explanation for Bass Boost and Bass Extend. Gimme graphs to read! No response from Kenwood. No AM at first. Called Crutchfield to find out how to hook up the active antenna, this wasn't in their directions. AM is good now. The wife says the radio and dash replacement are ugly, and She's right. Honda really designed their dash boards with style, and the Kenwood and Scoche dash don't come close in appearance. My dash says aftermarket!

Pros: Versatile tone controls, great sound. I can hear the valves clicking on a clarinet. The optional steering wheel interface is worth the extra $.

Cons: Tiny station buttons that are hard to read in sunlight. The display is awful with the sun shining on the dash or in front, but amazingly the sun illuminates the LCD display nicely when the sun is shining directly on it. The Scoshe internal parts are plastic and the Honda parts are really sturdy metal. Crutchfield doesn't supply all the weird metric screws needed. It took 2 trips to the hardware store to get it right. No anti-theft code.

Installed to replace 10yo pioneer w/oled display in 92 corvette. Easy install, instructions clear, unobtrusive look. Sound reproduced is first rate through existing sony coaxials, original problem ridden bose system long gone. Adjustability of settings for loudness, speakers installed, mic for bluetooth, eq, is epic, can't think of anything missed. Display color can be matched to existing dash, mine is an odd orange. The bluetooth links everytime, and conversations are clear, even over a noisy cabin. I have the remote usb in the console for a memory stick, nice to have it out of sight. Love the HD tuner, not great if signals are weak, but many are strong here and each has 2 more sub stations available. Am not a fan of thin, smooth knob and the preset buttons are minute, I don't know why most brands do both. The led display is large, clear and the disco light show can be turned off, thank heaven.

Pros: Clear display, adjustability bluetooth to vehicle and preferences, front and rear usb, HD radio, power antenna lead, simplicity.

Cons: Function knob is thin not easy to grasp. Miniscule preset buttons. Extra cost adapter needed for sirius/xm activation.

This is the perfect radio for what I want and pice. HD radio, front and back USB, remote control (more convenient than I thought, keep your eyes on the road), non-disco display mode, etc. I got if for the wife and she enjoys it. It's easy enough to use, though if your into techno-bells and whistles, it has them as well. Bluetooth function is perfect. I wanted something that would be nice and would work for whatever smart phone I get next. I looked at a lot of radios, I'm glad I got this one.

Pros: The wiring instructions are perfect. Don't be intimidated, it looks like a lot of wires, but you can do this. Hooking it up to the adapter harness kit takes a few minutes, but it's quite doable. You got this!

Cons: The display could be a little brighter for my likes, but my wife hasn't complained.

This replaced a double din Bose Head unit in a 1998 Infiniti. I also bought the sirusxm reciever to go with it. I almost have too many choices, but it is great to be able to listen to what I want, using the medium I want. I usually listen to a local jazz station that is HD, but sirusxm also has some jazz selection that I am enjoying. The country and Christian stations are my other favorites. I previously had a similar kenwood radio in another car, but it did not have preset stations, and that is why I chose this model. The presets make it much easier to pick your stations while driving. Since the face is hard to see in the sunlight,,,,you learn quickly which presets are which stations without looking. Good value....but it was hard to install. Crutchfield provided everything one needs to install. Had to make a few calls to the tech,,,,but reached them right away. The head unit works great.

Pros: great features, Sirusxm, HD radio, 2 USB ports, and the presets.

Cons: Hard to see in the daylight, and it was hard to install in the infinity. Previous install in another car was much easier.

Coming from a factory setup, this has proven to be a huge upgrade in sound quality and functionality. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I'm still finding it a little clunky when toggling between functions; this may just be the learning curve. In addition, I can't say enough about Crutchfield in terms of their support. There were many times when I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew during the full installation (amp + speakers as well) but anytime I ran into a brick wall Crutchfield support was there to help. Everything works as advertised.

Pros: Great upgrade, good price, great support

Cons: A little clunky functionality wise, but not a big deal

Great stereo with tons of features. Love the ability to get HD channels and play Pandora from my phone. Hate that local radio reception seems to be a bit weaker than my factory radio. Several favorite stations now are hit and miss on whether or not they will come in clear enough to enjoy.

Pros: HD tuner, Pandora, button layout, and a volume knob!

Cons: Weak FM station reception, some HD channels have weak reception as well (the HD2 OFF message is getting very annoying!!).

    Great System
