Incredible sounding 4" speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I added these speakers to a JVC system I put into my Lexus SC400; along with a set of infinity reference speakers. First of all, I didn't even know that a 3 way 4" speaker existed until I got these. I can't believe the full sound that comes out of such a small speaker. They were the perfect addition to the entire system which I got from Crutchfield. Thank you Crutchfield. As my sister said," It sounds so much better than the Nakamichi system which came with the car."

Pros: The fullest sound from such a small speaker!

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Small in size big on sound! I replaced my son's factory speakers with these in the front doors. Install was a breeze thanks to the install info and wiring adapters provided by Crutchfield! They were installed with a subwoofer to fill the low end so they are set up on the high pass filter from the deck. They work great! Clean and efficient.

Pros: price, quality, high frequency clarity.

Cons: nothing worth noting. Low end is lacking, but come on they are a 4" speaker what do you expect? Mirror shaking bass? :)

Better than expected

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was a little apprehensive when I saw that I was replacing my old (larger) factory speakers with these. I was pleasantly surprised to hear a sound that was much more dynamic and clear than what I was expecting. Don't let the size of these speakers fool you.

Pros: Value. Dynamic Range (don't expect a subwoofer!).

Cons: None

2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased these to replace the old worn out ones in my Silverado. The old ones I recycled had better sound quality. These are fine for talk radio or sports, but the lower range seems to cut out and become distorted at even medium volume. Not good for listening to music that is meant to be loud and fast requiring quick low end response such as a double kick bass drum set. I am surprised Crutchfield carries these. I will simply and humbly finish with what was I expecting for the price.

Pros: Nice looking speakers.

Cons: Inferior sound quality. Poorer than the old factory speakers I replaced.

Very pleased with this product

Pros: Very clear

Cons: Tight fit

great 4" speakers

1998 Toyota Avalon
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are some really nice 4" 3-way speakers, the highs and mids are terrific. They are only 4" speakers so don't expect too much bass from these at all. I'm still using my stock head unit but they sound very clear and the imaging is spot on which really puts you in the middle of the sound. I believe my stock head unit has a pre-formatted low pass filter that's set pretty high so more than likely I'll be able to get more bass out of these 4" once I can set the low pass myself to something around 140hz or so. Once I get the dpx308u in place the imaging will sound even better and the speakers will be powered to their potential which should allow for more bass, volume, etc.

Pros: Clear highs and mids, excellent in-speaker filter, very good imaging putting you in the center of the sound

Cons: don't expect too much bass out of these, they are rated to 45hz but they are just too small to bump, by themselves they sound very bright but with a subwoofer or other bigger speakers (6x9, etc) that can handle the lows they sound terrific...

Woofers: The woofer cones are constructed from injection-molded polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cones are lightweight and rigid for low distortion and good bass response. Each woofer uses a treated cloth surround.

Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1-3/16" PEI balanced dome tweeter. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

Flat Super-Tweeters: The speaker also utilizes a 1/2" ceramic, flat super-tweeter for added high frequency reproduction.

Mounting Options: The four mounting tabs are scored so they can easily be removed for 2-hole or special application mounting.
