Nice replacement speakers
If you've been suffering with tired out speakers, Kenwood's Sport Series speakers are a cost-effective way to liven up the sound in your car. The KFC-1364S 3-way 5-1/4" speakers use multiple speaker elements to bring new clarity and enhanced performance to your car audio system.

3-way design
Each speaker features a polypropylene woofer with a treated cloth surround that delivers full bass while standing up to the heat and humidity in your car. A balanced-dome midrange driver allows vocals and instruments to be heard more distinctly, while the ceramic tweeter supplies the musical details that make your music more exciting. The built-in crossover sends the appropriate frequencies to each element, so you'll hear clean, balanced performance. Grilles are included.

The bass is about average for this size speaker in this price range. The mid-range and highs are a significant improvement over factory units. A good value.

2004 Subaru Forester
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm giving these speaker 5 stars, not because they're the best sounding speakers you can get. They're not. But as OEM replacements, they are a fantastic value. The sound in my Subaru Forester was incredibly dull- all mids, weak highs and essentially non-existent bass. These, along with a comparable pair of Kenwoods sized for the other doors, brought the full dynamic range back to the music. Plenty of punch in the low end and enough at the high end to bring out some sparkle. Again, not the best speakers money can buy, but if you want a cost-effective way to upgrade the factory speakers in your doors, these are a great option.

I recommend ordering the baffles available for these speakers to deepen the sound. For me, they didn't produce good bass w/o them. Otherwise, the speakers are a great addition to your car system. Good price as well.

Pros: Good price for this level speakers.

Cons: Can be a bit tinny w/o baffles.

I purchased these in a package to completely upgrade the factory sound system in a 2004 Mazda rx8. I wanted them for mids, i installed them in the rear deck and matched them with kenwood 5 1/4 components in the front doors and a kenwood 12" sub in the trunk powered by an alpine mrv m500. all running off a Kenwood ddx318, they have performed there task very well, they're tight crisp and surprisingly able to handle high volume levels without clipping. I'm very pleased with the product and extremely satisfied with crutch fields in depth and concise attention to detail (ie: adapter plates, factory matched speaker wire pigtails, master build sheet and shipment tracking communication. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!!!

Pros: Sound quality, ease of installation,

Cons: Should be option to purchase without grilles for factory install. It's a waste of materials

I gave 3 stars cause to me I think 3 is neutral. Anyways this speakers were the recommendation that would fit my car. I couldn't give them a positive or negative because I didn't get a chance to install them. The reason being when I tried to mount them with the brackets they sent me with the speakers, they look like junk so many spaces around the speakers. So I didn't waste my time installing them.

For three way design, this sounds good mid to high range. Lows needs a little bit more oomph. According to Crutchfield's fit guide, i needed no mods but i noticed that this speaker size was tad smaller than what was in there.. if it weren't for the longer screw flange on the outer speaker ring, I would have send them back for the next size up.

Pros: Good sound overall for the price.

Cons: Not much in the low range

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

You get what you pay for with these speakers: just a nice upgrade from factory, but nothing spectacular. You can't expect much bass from speakers this small so I wasn't really disappointed with that, but I will want to add some bass in the future to level the sound out. The one thing that I have noticed is that at high volume the bass and mids drop out and the sound can get pretty harsh. I would suggest complementing these with some larger, broader range speakers, definitely don't build a system with only these.

Pros: Loud, clear.

Cons: No bass, poor sound range at high volume.

Great little speakers, they distort at max volume of my stereo but I am not running a HI-amp so I do not know their full potential. Has a nice mid hit quality and excellent high clarity. Not the best speakers in the world, but the price and quality is right. FYI faceplate does come off.

Pros: Cheap, clear high sound, mid-level hits.

Cons: I wouldn't recommend pushing bass through them, get some woofers and tune down your stereo.

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The reviews on these speakers were rather lackluster. I am not an audiophile or a sound engineer. Since I bought a new head unit for my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I figured the factory speakers were probably due for an update, even though I thought my factory-installed (but 10 year old) speakers were fine. Crutchfield was running a special on these speakers when purchased with my new head unit, so I took the plunge. The sound from these speakers is definitely superior to my factory speakers, at least to my non-audiophile hearing. I was surprised the sound was so good, although I suspect the bass cannot be heard (or felt) a block away. I am very happy with the purchase.

Pros: Price, sound quality, all needed mounting hardware supplied at no additional cost.

Cons: Probably not concert-hall sound (although improved from factory front door speakers.)

I was looking to replace factory speakers on my vehicle. I was not expecting bass or anything like that from a small speaker however once installed the sound quality was very poor in my opinion. The hits were very clear on this speaker however there was no low to speak of. The factory 1997 paper cone speakers had more low than these. Again, I wasn't looking for bass or expecting it however I was expecting there to be a little low end out of a brand name product

When I use the fader control, I can really tell the music degrades. The Boston Acoustics are smaller but have such a higher quality sound.

2003 Subaru Forester
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

With an amp running 40 Watts RMS to these speakers (rated 28 RMS) the bass is definitely above the factory premium sound woofers I had before. Without an amp they lack the bass. Excellent Mid and High range with or without an amp, however they go much louder without distorting with an amp. If your factory speakers still work (aren't blown) and you are looking at upgrading your speakers for more bass-don't bother with these speakers, in fact don't bother upgrading your speakers at all. Yes they have better bass with an amp, but if your factory speakers are ok (unlike mine in which I blew both my left side stock speakers!) and you want good bass, you are better off getting a small under the seat powered subwoofer (which are easy to install). These speakers compliment my powered subwoofer excellently! Great replacements for factory.

Pros: Value, Highs and Mids, Bass with an Amp, looks

Cons: Good bass only with an amp

Features

Woofers: The woofer cones are constructed from injection-molded polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cones are lightweight and rigid for low distortion and good bass response. Each woofer uses a treated cloth surround.

Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1-3/16" PEI balanced dome tweeter. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

Flat Super-Tweeters: The speaker also utilizes a 1/2" ceramic, flat super-tweeter for added high frequency reproduction.
