Don't Buy

Written By TJ, Butte, MT on Monday, March 19, 2012

Both speaker cones exploded after only 2 years of use. both speakers were in covered fabric enclosures.

Pros: none

Cons: only lasted 2 years before they broke into pieces, I paid way too much for them

Sunlight Damage

Written By C, San Juan,Puerto Rico on Sunday, February 27, 2011

I have to agree with the other customers. These speakers became britlle from the sun in only 18 months. The woofer cracked completely and I had to disconnect them since the pieces were vibrating with the sound. A complete surprise for a product from kenwood. My dash unit, a kenwood also, is running on 15 years and still pumping out sound, now with and ipod.

Not appropriate for rear deck installations

Written By Peter, San Francisco, CA on Friday, October 16, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After less than 2 years, these speakers were completely destroyed from sun damage,
having been installed in the rear deck of my Jetta. This is in the San Francisco fog - I can
only imagine how much quicker this would have happened if I lived somewhere where the
sun actually shines on a regular basis.

The speaker cones are visibly warped and cracked, and the speakers buzz. Up until that
point, they were a decent upgrade over the stock speakers, although the stock speakers did
last 10 years in the same location without massive sun damage.

Sunlight damage

Written By Miller, Pascagoula, MS on Thursday, May 21, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Speakers wre a great improvement over the 97 Prizm (really a Corolla) factory ones. They went into the rear deck behind the factory face (open grill) where sunlight can beat on them. One year and 18 days later there are pieces of the speaker missing. Look like the sun made them brittle. Now I have to find speakers that can be in sunlight.

You get what you pay for

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Do not buy these speakers if you are looking for an awesome sound upgrade or great bass. If you are replacing worn out speakers, you'll be happy. I purchased these speakers to replace a blown speaker in my '96 F250 that I use for my business. I plan on upgrading trucks in the next year, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on speakers. I tend to agree with others about the bass--I think they actually remove bass from the music. I have an Alpine CDA-9856 deck which has the ability to produce great sound, but it does not through these speakers. I must say that I am disappointed in the sound, but it was a great price. Like I said, you get what you pay for.

Good not Great

Written By Mario, Los Angeles, CA on Monday, February 09, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these as factory replacements for the rear deck of a Suzuki Esteem. Sound is OK and although I didn't expect much in bass these speakers left much to be desired in regards to lows (I have them connected to the factory stock CD player). Highs and mids are failrly good. Overall I'd say they are a decent factory stock replacement but not necessarily an upgrade. All in all for the price I got my money's worth (paid $39) but I doubt I would ever buy these as an upgrade for a non-commuter or everyday runabout car.

Clear Sound but Sub a Must

Written By Nathan, Sarasota, FL on Thursday, December 18, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Added these speakers to a Pioneer DEH-P4000UB 4X14W RMS head unit to replace the truly wimpy stock system. The head adds a bit more overall volume with these speakers. A db meter spectrum test confimed what I expected from the reviews. Strong clear mids, and fairly balanced highs (slightly louder than mids). Bass ranges however are on average 15 db quieter than the mids at 40% volume--crummy. And these readings are with un-baffled door spaces acting as resonating chambers! The bass can be artificially boosted with the amp beyond the normal eq settings, but the sound suffers terribly. There was also one large mid range dip at 500hz, but I dont know if that is do to a harmonic/venting issue in the car doors.

I've checked them with a high pass filter enabled and they sound nice and clear. With the addition of baffles and a small sub, Im sure it will sound pretty good for a low power system.

All in all for the money, a decent component to a budget system.

So easy...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought thses speakers because the stock Honda front door speakers
were blown. I was expecting budget speakers with generic installation
instructions, complete with all the hassles. The instructions could have been
written by Honda they were so precise! Every step was detailed. It was SO
EASY my kids could have done it. I am very impressed, and will be back for
the rear deck. I will probably buy another set of these, they sound much,
much better than the stock ones.

Great with external sub

I can't comment on their bass (but I'm sure it's underwhelming). If you have an external sub, though, don't hesitate to buy these! The highs and mids these produce are excellent for the price.

These are great little speakers. They are basic but for my car that never had any speakers in the back it was just cut a hole, screw them in and MUSIC. Great buy and they sound perfectly fine. For the price they are 100% what I wanted.

Downgrade from stock

Written By Jonny C., Akron, OH on Friday, November 14, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these along with the KFC-1061S speakers to supplement the Sony CDX-GT420U head unit (excellent head unit I might add) I bought to upgrade my fiance's dying factory head unit in her 2000 Forester.

Once I got the head unit in, I turned on the car to make sure I installed it properly. The stereo had new life never heard before. Everything sounded clean and the bass was stronger that ever. I was now really excited to get the new speakers in to finish it off.

Well, finish it off they did. Pretty much killed the sound. Anything with any bass in it whatsoever began to distort at only moderate volume levels. Nothing sounded good when the volume was turned up loud. So I reinstalled the factory paper cone speakers and left it at that. These speakers were a major disappointment.

Efficient Bargain Speakers

Written By Ronald, Chicago, IL on Thursday, November 06, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased two pairs of these speakers for use in my 2008 Subaru WRX.
I'm running them off an Alpine MRP-F250 (40 watts x 4 channels) amplifier.
I have them crossed over at 80 Hz with a separate bass amp and sub for
the lows. The sound is fair, but I think these speakers would be better
suited running full range off of a head unit's built in amp in a budget
system. The speakers are very efficient, so they work well with lower
power situations. I find that the upper mids and treble tend to get fairly
congested and start breaking up when I turn the volume up a bit. These
aren't bad speakers, they're probably just better suited for a different type
of system. I'm probably going to return them and replace them with (more
expensive) Alpine Type-S speakers. The flexibility to do this is one of the
key reasons that I've been a long time customer of Crutchfield. If you're
looking to build a nice, basic budget system with just a head unit and two
or four speakers, these could be a good choice. If you're taking the next
step and moving up to outboard amps, I'd suggest spending a few more
bucks on a slightly higher-end set of mids and highs. One closing thought
on bass reponse - I've found that these speakers (and others I've used in
the past) respond well to be mounted with inexpensive XTC foam baffles
behind them. The foam baffles provide a rudimentary form of enclosure
that I've found can help tighten up the bass reponse a little bit.

okay speaker

Written By jim, York Pa on Wednesday, November 05, 2008

These are pretty good sounding speakers for the money, big improvement over factory but not up to higher end standards by any means. Bass response is modest for 6.5, highs and mids sound good. If I did it over I would spend a little more for Infinity's or Polks that I have had good luck with in the past.

sound ok but you can do better for the price. They have no bass if you turn
the bass up they distort. The mids and highs are ok though. I don't really
recommend them. I used kenwood in the past but I think they went
downhill in there quality of recent products.

They Sound Great For The $

Decent replacement speakers

Written By Brian, Springfield, OR on Monday, September 15, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I give these speakers four stars because they are a slight upgrade (or at least an equivalent replacement) to many stock car door speakers, they are cheap, and they produce good treble and sound good when running from a deck.

However, I agree with others that they produce bass very poorly and these speakers couldn't handle being run from an amp. Also, I would only get these speakers if your goal is to replace blown stock speakers not if your goal is to upgrade your system.

i read the review that said that the speakers were great for low range and not so great on the high end and thought, "these are the ones!".

i installed them in the rear deck and put the 1361's in the door of my little one's hyundai accent - and they worked wonderfully. well enough that she didn't think to say, "dad, when are you going to put a subwoofer in?"

installed them with a dual receiver w/25 watts per channel and they were great - don't know what they would do at their rated output, but they suited my purposes perfectly!

i bought a set of these to go into my 1999 subaru legacy outback. dang
they sound good. I have them running off of my JVC cd player (also from
crutchfield) and they simply beat the heck out of my stock speakers. after
putting those in my front doors, i bought 2 more for my back doors, i liked
them so much. They have great bass and they are very affordable. My only
complaint is that they distort if you take them very loud. i would like
something that gives off more volume without the distortion, but for the
price they can't be beat.

These sound pretty good in my fathers Grand Am, but my 2000 Formula, with the Monsoon sound system... NOT happening. Crutchfield did say that only bass would come out of these speaks, they were right.. and they sounded awful. It was more of the Monsoon system than the speakers. I went to the dealer and just replaced the speaker that was blown.

Great value

Written By LeeAnn, Kentucky on Wednesday, August 06, 2008

What a great value!! These speakers ROCK for their size and price. You simply won't find a better speaker for the money. If you are looking to seriously improve the sound in your vehicle without breaking the bank, try these speakers out. They have an impressive range, and they take a lot of volume with no distortion or loss of clarity. As a fan of acoustic fingerstyle guitar music, tone, timbre, and clarity are very important to me. I'm happy with this purchase.

alright... all i can say is you get what you pay for. These kenwoods are the cheapest 6.5 speakers on crutchfield... so dont expect much out of them...

The highs are pretty good
The mids are bad
and the bass is absolutely terrible

You can turn up the volume about halfway with these things and the sound already gets distorted. I would rather have a factory stereo than these things... it could be i have a kenwood amp hooked up to them instead of the amp built into the receiver, but i still wouldn't buy them...

Once again, you get what you pay for

I drive a 96 Merc Tracer, just a little guy, and the speakers we lacking, one
being blown and all. So i decided on an upgrade so I got these front and rear,
Kenwood receiver and MTX subs. These are good on bass for the light hearted
but if listen to anything other than elevator music, you need some subs for the
bass category. I got two 12's and 300 RMS feeding them so, I get the bass good
enough. I didn't really notice these lacking so much until after the install when
I turned the subs all the way down. So if you do get these get some bass
behind them with a sub or you will be unhappy. The MTX RT12X2A and 300
watts RMS did the trick for me and then some.

Better then expected!

Written By gabe, marysville, WA on Monday, July 21, 2008

I was not expecting much from these speakers. I just wanted to complement my new deck with some new speakers for my 92 jimmy. I was blown away by how crisp and clean these speakers sounded! Even hooked up to the stock stereo! The one thing I was not expecting was some bass from the small speakers.
However I can actually fell the little thumb in my chest from these speakers which was definitely unexpected! The mids and highs are were these actually shine and bring out the music. I will soon be setting a bass blocker on these and putting a 15" sub in the rear to handle my bass. I can not wait to see how some bass out of a sub will complement the
mids and highs of these speakers!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these speakers in the front and rear of my truck.
Installation was a breeze and for less than $100 I was able to double the audio quality of my sound system. I can hear all the subtle nuances in the music that were absent with the factory paper cone speakers.
I have a Kenwood stereo with HD radio, Sirius Radio and an iPod interface.
My recomendation would be to change out all 4 speakers with these. When I was installing them I would turn on the stereo after each speaker installation to test them before replacing the door panels, and the sound from these speakers were drowned out by the factory speakers. I'm thinking this was because they take a little more power to drive them but the Kenwood receiver does a fine job without any sort of additional amp and once I had all 4 speakers installed they sounded great!
I used to listen to my system with the Kenwood volume set at around 10-15 and now I have it set at 15-20. When you raise the volume to 25-30 there's still no distortion and it's too loud for me.

Great 3-Way Speakers

Written By David, C-Town, MA on Saturday, June 21, 2008

I have a 98' Corolla, which came with the factory speakers already installed in the rear deck. To be honest, they sounded terrible, with no bass to speak of, so i decided to replace them. After poking around I found these Kenwood speakers and decided to try them out. First off, they have a very good price, and secondly, I ordered them June 18th and they arrived on the 20th. When I went to install them, I took out the factory speakers, only to find that they were made of cardboard, and the surrounding foam had disintagrated. I looked at the just out of the box Kenwoods and knew they'd be better than the falling apart speakers I was taking out. Installation took about 10-15 minutes at most, including taking off and replacing the rear deck panal.

The speakers themselves sound great. They do great with mid and upper range tones, and do surprisingly well with low tones as well, compared to the notions I got from reading previous reviews. I really enjoy them, and would deffinately reccomend them to anyone looking for a quick, cheap, and easy way to improve your sound system.

I'm actually looking forward to installing a 4" pair of these in my doors. After that I should have a fairly well rounded sound system. But just to make sure that I have all the low notes covered I'm going to put a subwoofer or two in the trunk. But I should be happy with the bass provided by these speakers for a while.

If you want at least to hear some bass don't buy these. My factory
speakers sounded much better. I don't listen to Rap or anything like that
but even with good heavy metal or rock you can't hear anything. It was
like someone turned the bass setting all the way down. I was planning on
adding subs later but I couldn't stand a week without replacing them. The
clarity and loudness were great but listening to music without bass, I
couldn't stand.

I ordered these speakers to replace an original factory blown
speaker (alpine 615b) on my 95 Honda Del Sol. I installed the new
Kenwood and compared it to the other original speaker before
replacing all four speakers. The Kenwood was terrible!! No bass to
speak of and the treble was just as bad. You would have thought
after 13 years, speaker quality would have improved!! I
ordered a pair of Panasonic's according to advice from Crutchfield's
advisor. Hopefully, these will perform up to the original speakers
quality. . .

Great for a lower power system w/ no AMP.

Written By boone, Raleigh, NC on Friday, May 23, 2008

Awesome. If you want a great sounding system, but are not using a big-high watt
receiver or AMP, these are great. I just installed these in the back of my 95 Honda
Accord, along with a Dual XHD6420 receiver (17 watts RMS x 4 channels), and it
sounds incredible. The wire adapters plug right in to both the stock plugs and these
speakers, the instructions make it a breeze about how to take off the speaker grills,
and remove the old speakers. These speakers have high sensitivitiy, so they don't
need much power to make them really sound great. This combination speaker and
reciever is perfect. I wonder if some of the bad reviews are using a lot of power,
which is really not needed for these speakers. Bass and highs sounds much, much,
much better than the stock speakers.

Great speakers for the money! They sound so much better than my blown
original speakers on my 1991 Prelude - so I don't have a good comparision
given how bad my speakers were - the new ones brought to my attention

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These Kenwood speakers aren't the top of the line, but they aren't bad for
the price. I wanted to replace the front and rear factory speakers to a 1995
GMC Jimmy 4 Door and I didn't want to spend too much money on it since
the truck is pretty old. The front speakers include the speaker bracket and
wire harness. The rear speakers do not. You will need to keep the rear
factory brackets and drill new holes to mount the new speakers in. You will
also have to cut and splice the rear speaker wires to attach it to the new
speakers too. If you have a 95 GMC Jimmy 4dr too, you will find out that
taking the door panels off isn't as simple as it seems. It's difficult to
disconnect the wires to the power locks, power mirror, and power
windows. The factory speaker brackets are not screwed in as the
crutchfield installation directions state. They are actually mounted in the
door frame with rivets. You will need to use a 1/8 drill bit to drill them out.
Thanks, Crutchfield, for the product, fast shipping, and support.

Worth 50 bucks definitely beat factory speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought 2 pairs of these to go into my 2001 Suzuki Swift and I'm underwhelmed to say the least. Combined with my new Sony CDX-GT410U head unit, I had to turn the volume up to near max before I could hear any solid bass. Granted, speakers have never been known for great bass, but they should offer some kind of a low-end. I gave these speakers a 2 instead of a 1 because the mids and highs are pretty solid. That said though, these are the tiniest and emptiest sounding speakers I've ever heard.

After getting over the intial shock of installation, I am very please with my selection. The sound is just what in expected, being a long time Kenwood listner.

Clean Sounding Speaker

Written By Matt, Florida on Friday, January 11, 2008

I just purchased these speakers for the front doors in my '92 Ford Taurus and I am definitely pleased with them. For the price, you can't beat 'em. The highs and mids come across very clearly and for the limited bass response you can expect from a 6.5, they perform well. I've always been a fan of Kenwood speakers and have no regrets with this purchase.

As a side note, once again I received excellent service from Crutchfield and will always come back for my car audio needs.

Pretty good for the little amount if money

Written By Justin, St. Louis, Mo. on Thursday, January 10, 2008

I think they sound great overall. There is no clashing of sound at high volumes. everything fit, hole for hole and screw for screw. They also sound great with different genres of music. They produce great bass. A little to much treble though, just turn it down on your receiver. I like the thought that you can buy a 3 way speaker this cheap and have it sound this good. Also, along with all the great products nothing helps like the quick, friendly, and always reliable customer service you get with Crutchfield. Me being a first time customer, want you all to know you've got me for life.
thank you.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got these to replace my door speakers. Apparently my stock speakers were pretty good because these aren't much better. They have a little bit better bass response and are great on treble but at neutral settings are still extremely overpowered by rear speakers. They can get louder than my stock speakers though. These are good upgrade speakers for the price relative to others, but don't expect heaven on sound notes out of them.

Great product for the price....

Ordered these on Tuesday and they were at my door on Thursday afternoon. Replaced the original factory installed and replaced with the Kenwood's in less than an hour. As far performance, these are certainly a step above the original equipment...cleaner highs and more sound quality overall. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a step up in listening enjoyment!

i recently bought these for the front doors of my 92' escort.....instalation was no hassel and they sound really nice for the price..sweet highs and the mids are perfect....perfectly pair up with a 8" or 10" sub

Fits Jeep stock location but definitely not a match in performance

Written By 04JeepPA, PA on Tuesday, September 11, 2007

This speaker fits my Jeep wrangler's stock location perfectly but definitely the quality of the speaker can't compare to the originally equipted speaker. The speakers cost is cheap for a reason.

this speakers are good on the wallet. But, when it comes to performance, they are alright, they dont have base. Im pretty sure of that. The higher frequencies are pretty good though. These speakers can't handle very much power, and if you get the volume up to high they tend to distort. They are very cheap but all i can say is that you get what you pay for... i wish i would have gotten polk

I ordered these on tuseday at lunch and I was listening to them thursday at dinner. Very Fast service, very easy step by step install. No drilling required on these. Start to finish took a total of 30 min. I have the stock head unit and the Speakers sound awsome. For less than the price of a tank of gas I have great sound in my truck. EXCELLENT BANG FOR THE BUCK

Replaced GM Factory speakers that had the foam surround completely missing in a 1994 Geo Prizm. These are great speakers for the mid and high ranges but don't hold a candle even to the Factory Toyota 6x8s in my 2004 Toyota Tacoma when it comes to bass, misses a lot of the bass lines in even the average rock riff.

Great Speakers for a Low Price

Written By Dhaval, Anderson, SC on Saturday, July 28, 2007

I installed my speakers just the other day. The installation was very fast and simple thanks to Crutchfield and their Mastersheet. My old speakers where beyond busted so this was a big upgrade for my car. I love the quality of these speakers. They sound great and they get all the notes just right. The bass hits real nice on these speakers too. I recommend these speakers to anyone who wants to upgrade from factory speakers or just looking for a great pair of speakers for a low price.

Not Great, But Not Bad

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A note to the sound conscious,

Not a bad speaker, but not a great speaker. Replaced my factory speakers with these and a pair of Polk db650's, in the front and rear respectively.

While they are not bad speakers, I noticed they sounded weird the louder you turned them up. Distortion was not what I wanted from a replacement set as it was the problem I was trying to fix by replacing my factory speakers.

In addition, the Polk's I put in the rear of my car sounded much better then the Kenwoods. As such, I am replacing these with Polk's. If you simply want a low cost factory replacement, these are good.

If you listen to music at low to moderate volumes these are good. But if you turn your radio up they may distort.

well these speakers are good on the highs and mids however when it comes to bass they are horrible. I guess thats why we have subwoofers. but overall i think they are great speakers for just $50.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

When first looking for replacement speakers for my 1998 Subaru Outback Wagon, I was impressed by this product's high reviews, but turned off by it's unbelievable low price. I was unsure what to do, so I called Crutchfield sales, and they assured that this was a great match for my vehicle, so I went ahead and ordered them. Everything arrived before promised, and the enclosed installation instructions helped me to get them hooked up quickly, and without any problems. The speakers are so much more crisp and clean, and have much better bass than the stock speakers from the factory 10 years ago. Thanks for the great service crutchfield, you now have a customer for life.

These are DECENT speakers for the price!!!

I put a set of these speakers in the rear deck of my 1999 Saturn SC2, as the speakers were shot!! Coupled with my car stereo's EQUALIZER, these sound great!!Would also use in my front doors if I'd need to! Installation wasn't too bad! Especially for a 63 year old grandnma!! If you don't want to spend a fortune upgrading, these are nice.

Decent speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are pretty decent. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because if you send a lot of bass to them while its turned up they start sounding kind of funny, but I guess thats expected for front speakers. Apart from that, these things can really nail the high's and mid range with the 3-way system. It also needs a good head unit to make some quality sound. With my factory head unit they made nice treble but no bass. I would suggest these speakers to anyone trying to make a good sounding system without dropping $200 on front speakers.

Written By Rod, Westminster, MD on Saturday, May 05, 2007

Crutchfield recommended these to replace the factory rear 6x9 speakers in my 2003 Hyundai Sonata. The sound is so anemic, my factory front speakers drown them out. Bass? What bass? They might be adequate for use in the front but not to replace rear speakers.

Great Speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to replace some old door speakers that came with the truck when I bought it. I installed them in a 2000 Nissan Frontier and the installation went great. Removing the door panel was so simple from the details that Crutchfield sent and they fit perfectly. They sound awesome and have a little bass to them but are great for door speakers. The only minor issue is that I would have liked to use the grill that came with the speakers instead of having the factory grills but that is alright. Great product overall and great speakers to replace factory ones.

Not bad for the price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ordered these to replace the completely *shredded* stock Infinity factory speakers in my 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. I kept the factory deck and amplifier. Had to go at the factory brackets with some vise grips to get the brackets that shipped from Crutchfield to fit. Otherwise, overall good experience. The hardest part was swapping out the door panels, which was no big deal instructions-wise as I have the service manual for my Dak.

All in all better than a sharp stick in the eye, especially compared to the factory speakers which were cardboard pieces of junk that only lasted for 5-6 years. I'd recommend these speakers to fellow Dak drivers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just put 4 of these in a 1994 Accord coupe with the factory cassette radio. I thought the marketing for speakers was just hype until I saw the speakers coming out of my car! They were likely some kind of cardboard and were totally blown. No wonder I hadn't played the radio much! These Kenwoods really have good detail and I'm noticing sounds (like a brush on a cymbal) that I haven't heard before on my cds. Great buy!

I was looking for an inexpensive speakers for my 99 Nissan Frontier and decided to go with these. The instruction sheets were right on mark, did not need the speaker brackets. It was a direct fit with just a little persuasion.
When I removed my old speakers the outer ring was totally disintegrated, no wonder they sounded so bad. What a difference in sound now, I can actually hear some bass out of the speakers!!
I totally recommend these to anyone looking for some decent sound. I have these hooked up to a factory CD player from a 2000 Frontier, sounds pretty good.

Not your typical 3 way speaker

Written By Bill, Kent, WA on Wednesday, March 07, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got 2 sets of these to install on my 2003 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. Talk about major disappointment. The distorted stock 2 way speakers I replaced sound a lot better. I installed a Pioneer 4900IB head unit which only kicks out something like 22 watts and the low freqs on these are really distorted. I've adjusted the head unit to minimums and I can't get them to sound right. The wire harness and bracket adapters along with the instructions from Cruthfields were exceptional and I had no problems with any of that. Time to call the experts and see what speakers to try next. The Kenwoods were the 2nd pair I tried with the Pioneer unit and the Sony's sound a litte bit better, but both were worse than the stock.

Typically Good Crutchfield Experience

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My grandson purchased a nice '92 Accord which already had a decent Sony CD player installed. The door speakers were fuzzy and the rear speakers long since worn out and blown. The rep suggested these and though there was no user history for this item we bought a pair. Excellent performance, perfect instructions and connecting wiring. In minutes they were in and working. Will soon buy another pair for the front.

I was happy to introduce my grandson to the excellent Crutchfield experience I have enjoyed for decades.

Woofers: The woofer cones are constructed from injection-molded polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cones are lightweight and rigid for low distortion and good bass response. Each woofer uses a treated cloth surround.

Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 7/8" PEI balanced-dome tweeter. PEI (Poly-Ether Imide) is a polymer film that has ideal sound characteristics, making it perfect for use as a tweeter. A PEI balanced-dome tweeter produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.

Passive Tweeter: The speaker also utilizes a 1/2" ceramic passive tweeter for added high frequency reproduction.

Mounting: The speakers can be mounted in a three-hole or four-hole 6-1/2" opening, or a four-hole 6-3/4" opening.
