Cons: No cons for the price.

For the price its a steal. I have a jl 300/4 amp powering these babies up along with my components in the front. The bass is good. I'm more mids and highs kinds guy. These kenwoods do the job well. Bass ratings would be 8.5/10. Mids and highs 8/10.. keep in mind I heard way better ones..

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers do sound better than my cheap factory ones, but keep in mind these are four OHM speakers, not two OHM. If you have the power to drive them, great, otherwise they are not going to be as loud as lower resistance speakers.

Pros: Good sound, look nice

Cons: Four OHM. Granted I am not up to date with the latest trends of the industry, but previous experience has always been that factory speakers are more resistance than after market speakers, not the other way around.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these in my sister's 2007 Jeep Compass in the rear doors. The sound difference is unbelievable from the stock speakers. Placing the stock speakers side by side with these, you can obviously tell just by looking that the quality is a big improvement. The sound is such a contrast, it sounds like I installed an amplifier and equalizer. My sister is extremely happy with these and can't believe the difference they made.

Pros: Easy install, sounds amazing over stock.

Cons: Must use old hardware, new hardware won't work.

Good speakers for the price

Written by: Dan from Madison, Wi on December 28, 2013

I bought these and they work great. Put them in my 2005 Grand Prix and they were a great cheap upgrade. Not an easy install on my car by any means but I didn't mind putting the work in. I'm very happy with my purchase. Good all around sound. Bass could be a little better but it's not bad at all coming from a coaxial 6x9

Pros: Overall sound quality

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great speakers for the price. These speakers really do sound amazing. They are very crisp and clears on the highs and have a great midrange. The bass is as good as it could be from just a 6x9. I am very satified with these speakers over stock and did not have to spend a lot of money. They are powered from my Pioneer AVH-P4400BH and they really do sound great. but sound best when paired with a sub as they do lack some low end. I would recommend these to anyone on a budget looking for great quality and sound.

Pros: Cheap, well built, super clear highs.

Since 0 stars wasn't an option, I will grudgingly give these a 1 star rating. If they cant do better than the original 26 year old GM speakers, what would they be an upgrade to?

Pros: Provided exercise climbing in and out of trunk several times to put them in and take them back out.

Cons: Tinny, sound all high, some mid range, and no bass. Waste of my time and money.

On my 1983 Crown Victoria, the rear deck speakers are held flush to deck by a looped pc. of rubber strap...was tuff to get around bigger magnets.....BUT, they sound great. Now to finish with the custom cut dash panel and the Kenwood 12" KFC's Subs are just on wait mode that I got here in 2003.

Pros: Great sound at a great price.

Cons: Stretching the rubber strap around these big magnets was tough.

these speakers are great. the only reason i cant give them 5 stars is because i feel that the 6x9 sony explodes i had bought from a pawn shop a few years back sounded better, louder, and deeper and when hooked up to an amp they could substitute for subs. these speakers seem a little weaker but the material they are made is much better than what i had before. they still sound great and i'm still working on getting them hooked up to a good amp but even without the amp these still sound great. they also look great and dont bring too much attention, the grills that come with them cover them and for my old and little car thats perfect because its so easy to break into. its also great that they didn't cost a fortune.

Pros: sound good, easy to install, look nice, made of great material, great value

Kenwoods a very reliable brand. The speakerrs were easy to install and the sound quality is amazing. I replaced my stock stereo and speakers with all kenwood appliances and my car is the best sounding on the block. My next step is getting amp and subs...any suggestions?

Pros: Reliable and strong. I always have my system turned loud and I havnt had a problem yet.

Cons: My only problem would be not being able to turn my system louder.

1997 Honda Civic
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these not expecting a huge difference over the stock speakers. I really was just hoping for a little better bass. I got not only better bass, but much clearer sound. I'm no audiophile, so it was surprising how noticeable the difference was to me. The only problem is that with my particular application the rear now overpowers the front speakers (also Kenwoods) so I have to fade the speakers heavily to the front. Crutchfield gets extra kudos for including adaptors that made installation into my '97 Civic plug and play at no extra charge! I was not expecting them and appreciate the extra attention to detail Crutchfield provided by including them.

Pros: Clearer sound all around, low cost, better bass

Cons: I realize now that I need a dedicated sub to get the deep bass I want.

2007 Dodge Caliber. 20 minute install for all four speakers with the included harness kit! Easiest and cheapest upgrade I have ever done. Bought this speaker based on previous review for dodge caliber and couldn't agree more with his assessment other than I did not have any trouble securing fourth screw. So smart for Dodge to make the factory speaker grill detachable from door panel, which allows speaker change out without having to rip whole interior door apart.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this for a friends birthday to put in his 95 Buick Regal. I was expecting a big improvement in the mid and high sounds, but didnt expect a lot out of the bass. I was so blown away when we turned it on with the stock head unit and the bass was so powerful my jaw literally dropped. Even with a crummy old HU like that, these speakers put out fantastic sound at (almost) all frequencies. I would definitely buy these again.

Pros: Great all around sound. Bass too.

Cons: Boring looking box. Aka - no cons.

Clear, crisp, bright. For MOST of the music I listen to, these speakers offer great sound at a relatively low price.

Pros: Great sound, low price.

Cons: Sometimes overwhelmed by the heavy bass of some recordings, causing a fuzziness & distortion at relatively moderate volume levels. The mid range & tweeter protrude above the frame making them difficult to mount flush.

Kenwood 6x9s

Written by: Brian from Warren, OH on April 6, 2013

If sound clarity is your goal, these speakers are a must have for the price. Like most 3 way 6x9s I've had experience with, the sound clarity and sheer loudness of these speakers are impeccable BUT, (yes you already knew it was coming) they majorly lack bass producing capability. Any hip hop, rap, metal, 606's 808's an the like wreak havoc on these. Clarity turns into crispity immediately. They can handle it without any damage, but it isn't pleasant to listen to. Unless you have subs, or prefer a select few genres of music that rarely if at all have bass drops, these speakers aren't your bag. I have subs that compensate nicely and the quality of these for the price is perfect. 4 stars.

Pros: Clear, solid, unadulterated highs and mids.

Cons: Crispy chunk bass.

Met my expectations good bang for the buck these were put in a custom built console for a Polaris ranger they play plenty loud enough to hear over the engine without distorting.

Pros: Good quality speaker have been spray down with water and no problems

Cons: Speaker drills are only held in with putty so they vibrate out only when off-road if these where put in a car that probably would not happen

I installed these in a 2006 GMC Canyon. My installation was easy since there were no existing speakers in the rear of the truck. All i had to do was install them in speaker boxes and run the wire to my amp.

For the price of the speaker i couldn't be happier, they make my truck have nice sounding base without a subwoofer in it. The highs are great as well, the sound comes out crisp, clear and loud. It was exactly what i was looking for. After i did some tweaking on my amp it made them sound even better.

Pros: Crisp clear highs, bass is good for the price

Cons: i have nothing bad to say about the speakers

2008 Dodge Caliber
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got these because I read another review from somebody that had installed these in an 08 Dodge Caliber which is what I have. Installation took about 20 minutes for all 4 doors. Crutchfield sent easy to follow instructions. As the other reviewer had said, not all 4 screws will go back in after you put the speaker in. One of the longer screws wont go back in but it isn't really necessary as the speaker is secured by just 3 screws. The sound improvement over the OEM speakers is amazing. The highs are much more crisp and the bass is much fuller. I can actually turn the bass up on the head unit above -3 now. lol Not quite sure why Crutchfield says that these will not fit the front doors.

Pros: Better sound, easy installation and price.

Cons: Not all 4 screws will go back in.

2003 Jaguar XJ8
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I use these for outside entertainment so they are mounted in 6X9 speaker boxes, well sealed, and with fiber fill. The speakers are used for music, holiday songs, and sound effects. I am using 4 of these and they reproduce a great range of sounds including significant hits from some of the sound effects without distorting. I am driving them with an aplifier fed from a Sony STRDH130 and either a mp3 player, iPod, or portable CD player. They are a great value at this price point and while I have not been using them long I am very happy with their performance. I am thinking about swapping out the factory speakers in one of my cars with these.

Pros: Great dynamics, very good price

Cons: None

2008 Dodge Caliber
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced 4 Factory speakers on the OEM powered standard 6 disc changer stereo in 08 Dodge Caliber. (Non-Boston Acoustics) Putting these 3 way 6x9 speakers in the Caliber really takes the mask off the potential of the factory deck. Crisp highs, rear-view mirror shaking bass. (Mids are little lacking but can be adjusted by increasing the mids on the deck). Kudos to Dodge for allowing 6x9 speakers in the 4 doors of such a small car. The fronts doors installation take a little modification - just a longer screw on one of the 4. It actually is mounted pretty solid with just three screws. Plenty of room behind factory screens. The sensitivity is great. I get the same volume at 20 on the volume dial with the Kenwoods as I did at 28 with the factory speakers. This is a no-brainer upgrade. You won't believe the difference until you do it. Factory screws are actually torque screws so be sure to pick up a set of torque screwdrivers. You can literally install these in 20 minutes and take your time. The Crutchfield adapter wiring is a must on any speaker installation.

Pros: Great bass - gets the rear-view mirror thumping, crisp highs, good fit, right on the price. Free shipping, and wiring harness are the best.

Cons: lacks just a little bit of mid-range.

I own a vintage Mustang Convertible. These cars have little provision for decent stereo. Had added kick panel speakers but the sound was weak when driving. Bought a pair of Kenwood KFC-G6930 and a pair of Sound Ordinance BB692-T speaker enclosures put the assemblies on the back seat of my convertible. In my opinion for combined cost of $90 the sound is great! If you expect to get the sound you'd get from $200 6x9 pair with added subwoofer system of $300 minimum forget it...get real!

Woofer: The woofer cones are constructed from polypropylene to insure a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cones are lightweight and rigid for low distortion and good bass response. Each woofer uses a treated cloth surround.

Midrange: Each speaker uses a 2-9/16" PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) cone midrange for accuracy and durability.

Tweeter: The speakers also use 1" PET balanced dome tweeters. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter; a balanced-dome tweeter produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.
