Strong performance
Kenwood's Performance Series KFC-6994PS 6"x9" speakers deliver the full range of your music with their multi-driver design. Each 5-way speaker features a polypropylene woofer cone with a Diamond Array pattern that increases strength, improves bass response, and reduces internal vibrations and other distortions. The strong urethane surround is extremely lightweight, increasing speaker efficiency.

Multi-driver design
A 2-3/4" water-resistant paper cone covers the midrange frequencies, providing warmth in the vocal range. A water-resistant paper cone tweeter, a smaller dome supertweeter, and a ceramic supertweeter broadcast the high frequencies effectively to complete the all-round coverage that lets your music stretch out and come alive.

Sharp image
Kenwood's Image Enhancer 4 directs the sound emanating from the midrange drivers and tweeters, blending their signals to give a clean, well-defined focus to your musical soundstage. You'll hear smoother vocals, wider "sweet spot" dispersion, and less distortion. Grilles are included.

Why replace your car's original speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works great, no complaints at all. They do what they're supposed to loud and clear. Preferably with an amp but right from the stereo worked fine too just don't give it too much bass they're not supposed to handle bass.

Pros: Does everything expected for a good price.

Cons: None

Great Speakers. Awesome Range of Sound

I go two of these speakers a few months ago and couldnt be more pleased with their performance. I put them in my 86 Nissan 720 Hardbody in separate boxes and they sound absolutely great for the price. I looked and couldnt find a better deal from such a quality audio company.

Pros: Great audio, awesome high to mid range, good for your everyday driving, outstanding quality

Cons: Not for bass-ey songs,

Super Upgrade Speakers

2010 Nissan Altima
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

[Installed in 2010 Altima 2.5S 4-cyl Sedan non-Bose]

Significantly better than the factory's entry-level 2-ohm 25W rear speakers, which are constructed with a half-dollar-size magnet, paper woofer and a cardboard whizzer cone. Simple drop-in replacement as the 6994's matched the factory screw holes exactly.

These 6x9's produce a bass that is deep and distinct, with no hint of being boomy, and the highs are crisp and crystal-clear. I haven't cranked them up because they aren't broken in yet but what I did try just yielded louder audio with no loss of fidelity, and without any distortion or breaking up. BTW, these rears are mated to a 22-watt Kenwood KDC-BT952HD head-unit. I don't think I'll need an external amp or sub to get great sound.

The wiring diagram in the 2010 Altima Factory Service manual doesn't indicate which speaker connections are positive or negative, and the speakers aren't marked in any way. After searching through the Altima forums on-line, I found and used the following:

- Rear speaker RH: Pink (-), Brown (+). - Rear speaker LH: Brown (-), Light Green (+).

Kenwood supplied some speaker wire with female spade connectors attached but the wire is a pretty skimpy gauge. I used only about 4 inches of it, so maybe no harm done.

These are great upgrade speakers and at $79.00 a pair (with discount) they're a steal.

And thanks to Crutchfield advisor Mike for recommending them.

Pros: Good, deep bass and clear undistorted highs.

Cons: Skimpy speaker wire; however the attached spade connectore are sized to fit the speaker terminals.

Cone Woofers: The woofer cones are textured Polypropylene with urethane surrounds. Polypropylene woofers are resistant to the moisture and temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Midrange: The 2-3/4" water resistant paper cone midrange adds vocal clarity to the speaker.

Tweeter: Each speaker has a 13/16" PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate polyester) balanced dome tweeter. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter; a balanced-dome tweeter produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.

Super-Tweeters: Each speaker also features a 13/16" PET dome super-tweeter and a 3/8" ceramic, flat super-tweeter for added high frequency response.
