A PEI (polyetherimide) film balanced dome tweeter is extremely light and responsive for smooth high-frequency response. Thanks to its weather-resistant butyl rubber surround, this top-notch 4"x6" will perform superbly for years to come.

I bought these speakers to replace the factory front door speakers in a 1996 Cavalier and they are a big improvement. Clean crisp highs and nice sounding lows. They sound great even with the sound turned up high.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not bad very impressed! Not hard to hook up at all. Installed in my 2003 Chevy Silverado. Had to also install the Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X178 6-3/4" 2-way Speakers, Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X468C 4"x6" 2-way Speakers, and last but not least Metra VT-GMRC-01 GM Class II Data bus Interface.. Very easliy done about 4 hours worth of work but no problem and save 200 bucks on install by doing it myself..<BR>

Very nice replacements for factory speakers

1995 GMC Sierra
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these speakers to replace the factory rear pillar speakers in my '95 GMC truck. My deck is a low end Kenwood (forget the model)and these speakers seem to be a very nice match. The sound is very clear and with decent bass response for such a small speaker. A big improvement over the factory speakers. I also replaced the 6-1/2" front door speakers with Kenwood models and they also made the sound much clearer. The factory rears had no clarity at all, mainly just high mid noise. The Kenwoods fixed that. These actually sound musical instead. I used to fade the system to the front to avoid the sound of the rear speakers. Not anymore. I'm not trying to build a boom box just a decent system. All in all good speakers for the money. I would reccomend them for this type of installation.

Features

Woofers: The woofer cones are PBO advanced fiber. PBO is a high-performance fiber that has superior strength, thermal stability and very low moisture retention. Since PBO resists flexing and is heat-resistant, the speaker has lower distortion and improved power handling. The low moisture retention allows the speaker to retain its original performance for a longer period of time without being changed by the elements. For a smoother response and improved durability, each speaker uses a butyl rubber surround.

Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 1" PEI balanced-dome tweeter. PEI (Poly-Ether Imide) is a polymer film that has ideal sound characteristics, making it perfect for use as a tweeter. A PEI balanced-dome tweeter produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.

Warranty Note

Warranty Note: Although these speakers come with a 1 year warranty card, they are covered by the Kenwood eXcelon 2 year warranty.
