SIRIUS

Our take on the Kenwood Here2Anywhere™

Thanks to Kenwood, you can listen to SIRIUS programming just about anywhere you are. The Here2Anywhere™ portable SIRIUS tuner can be transferred from the car to your home stereo. This means you can enjoy SIRIUS both at home and on the road, and only pay one subscription price.

The tuner has a large, 4-line, 36-character-long display that'll show song, artist, title, and channel information. If you find a song that really grabs you, save it in the 24-song memory — that way, you won't forget it next time you visit your local music store.

Preview mode lets you see what else is on before you change channels. For convenience, you can program up to 24 presets of your favorite channels, as well as search by channel or category. A full-function wireless remote (with 0-9 number pad) allows direct access to your favorite channels.

Note: To use the tuner, you'll need a car docking kit or a home docking station (or both). The car kit includes everything you need to play the tuner through your car stereo. The home kit lets you connect the tuner to your home stereo setup. A subscription to SIRIUS is also required. (Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories.)

Good receiver for cramped locations.

Written By xjonx, Highland, IL on Saturday, April 30, 2005

I got a version 1.0 when they first came out and I liked it. I do agree that some if the display infor is small, but mounting near the drivers seat can help. I really like its horizontal design for mounting on top of the dashboard, all other tuners are veritcal and can block your view out the wind shield. I did have a problem with my orginal and was given a version 2 and it is even better. If you are looking for this tuner try for a version 2.

Kenwood Here2Anywhere™

Written By paul, florida on Wednesday, March 09, 2005

Although the programming is good, this receiver is horrible. The buttons are to small, the remote does not work well, it is impossible to read the lcd in daylight, and it is very difiicult to change the stations while driving. The sound quality is fine, if you don't mind the poor ergonomics.

Kenwood Here2Anywhere Sirius Tuner

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Crutchfield Customer Review

The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order.

The Kenwood H2A system was my introduction to Sirius Satellite radio in 2003. The H2A leaves a lot to be desired:
1. It runs too hot. My first receiver display died after one year, and the receiver died completely after two years of service. There was provision for a small fan, but never installed.
2. The LCD display is hard to read; impossible in bright light and gets worse as the unit heats up.
3. The control buttons are too small. Very difficult to use while driving.
4. The remote control helps, but requires a "direct line of sight" to the receiver and therefore is hard to use.
Kenwood does not repair these units (according to their NJ repair center).
On the plus side, the size and shape are 'friendly' and easy to mount in almost any vehicle and the sound quality is acceptable; it is easily moved from vehicle to vehicle or to the home docking station. I purchased the "refurbished" version from Crutchfield in order to avoid changing all the docking stations and vehicle installations. It worked fine right out of the box, had only one minor flaw, but I suspect will have as short a lifespan as the first one did. Turning it off when not in use and keeping it as cool as possible (near or in the vehicle a/c stream) may extend its life.
