And, with Kenwood's "Supreme" audio processing in the mix, you'll get improved high-frequency response for better all-around sound from those compressed music files.

System Q gives you three tone controls and six preset curves for tweaking the sound, while the strong built-in amp drives your speakers for a clean performance. Want to use the KDC-MP332 to anchor a larger audio system? Use the two sets of preamp outputs to hook up your external amplifiers and subs. You can even connect your iPod to your car's system via Kenwood's optional iPod interface.

And the KDC-MP332 is easy to control on the fly, too. The extra space provided by the fold-down faceplate means you get a larger display and bigger buttons, while the included wireless remote lets you control the system from anywhere in the car.

I am extremely pleased with this Kenwood CD player. It fit perfect in my 1991 acura, was easy to install and sounds great. Great product at a great price!

I'm dissapointed with this Kenwood unit, fair sound quality for the money but unit has a poorly designed detachable faceplate mechanism. Be aware that cd slot is not illuminated, no dim function, very basic display.

Great unit, and cool price too.

Written by: John from Troutville, VA on February 8, 2007

This one is really a good unit. It will make your stock speakers sound really special, and aftermarket speakers will truly shine. The handy remote control is a definite plus. But the real bonus is Sirius and HDRadio compatibility. Yes, you could still clutter your dashboard with a plug and play unit, but this stereo can have SIR-KEN1 and KTC-HR100TR hooked togehter. Put those units under the seat and Presto.....Every new fangled listening feature and no clutter!

Very easy installation. All harnesses and mounting brackets fit perfectly. Crutchfield makes the installation as easy as it could be. This is a great unit for the money. Remote control and expandabilty are hard to find in compairably priced units. Other reviews talk about how the unit is hard to operate unless you read the manual. Yes it is but 1- So is the factory stereo in a new Cadilac and 2- You are always supposed to read the manual. This radio has plenty of power to push my kenwood door speakers that I ordered with the unit. The only negative thing i can say about this purchase would have been that the wiring instructions had a couple of "grey areas" concerning which wires went were. A little thought and common sense figures everything out though.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield has been the best audio site i have ever been to, they get you in help you with any questions, and get you out with whatever decision you make, not trying to bump you up more money for a few extra features. Now for the head unit, at first i was skeptical on this deck. It seamed too bland and boring, but now that i have it all hooked up, which i might add was easy with all the instructions and kits provided, it really adds that special touch to my car. This deck gives me superb sound with my stock speakers and has enough power to run my 4 6" mids in the back. This cd player is a great choice for the price, comes with many features, and looks great, not full of buttons and designs making it look crowded. This has been the best cd player ive choosen so far. I am very pleased with my choice and with Crutchfield's support. I hope this review helps, this really is a great cd player...

This deck is great for stock setups. We actually thought the stock deck was great , but WOW , this deck makes all the diffrence in the world!!! I'm sooo glad the salesman put me in this deck. The 50x4 MOSFET internal amp is great for the stock componets. I'm anxious to see what some aftermarket speakers sound like!!!

For the Money It Is A Great Buy

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great head unit for the money. Just hooked up a amp and 1 10 inch sub woofer. The 4 volt pre amp out puts are great. We learned from Crutchfeild that we needed to hook the amp RCA wires to the rear pre amp out puts. The built in amp is great, really makes the 4 6 ¾ inch Kenwood's speakers sound great. The sub really added the final touch. The menus are easy to navigate. I will agree with other reviewers that the navigation knob is a little touchy but I have had this unit about 3 weeks and I have grown use to it. <BR><BR>This head unit was very easy to install with the accessories that Crutchfeild supplied, had only installed head units a few times. This was easy to install in my 96 Saturn. Supplies supplied by Crutchfeild are EXCELENT! <BR><BR>The only down side to the radio is that the face has fallen off twice when I change CD's. But that is only minor, the face is suppose to come off. <BR><BR>For the price I definitely would buy again. <BR>

Not for sun-lovers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Though this radio is matched to my car, a 1999 Miata, it doesn't suit convertibles well at all, in that the display is narrow and washes out in the sunlight. Among other concerns about its non-intuitive operation, i wouldn't reccomend this for someone who doesn't like to read the manual. However, the sound was fine and the installation was easy.

This being my 1st Crutchfield purchase, I could not be more pleased. First with this unit and second with Tech support. This unit makes music come alive, the adjustments you can make to bass, treb, mids make an unbelivable difference. The factory eq settings are very good with very noticable differences in the sound.<BR>All around a great unit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this head because of it's value. It seemed to be a great product at a great price. It turns out that it is. It is user friendly and seems to be a very durable piece of equipment. The sound is great with a noticeable difference when changing just one notch on treble, mid, or bass. Also I like the blue LED coloring. It's not too offensive IMHO.

Awesome Unit

Written by: Jason from Fredericksburg, VA on May 23, 2006

WOW! This radio is awesome! I had a Pioneer unit I got from Crutchfeild that was stolen out of my truck. This unit was cheaper and the sound quality with the same speakers is outstanding. I have an 04 F150. All 4 door speakers are pioneer 4 ways and I have a 12" MTX thunderform under the rear seat. This unit provides ear shattering Highs and good bass. Highly recommended!

Great Radio and Ease of Install

Written by: Grayson from Houston, TX on March 9, 2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This radio is to replace the factory radio/cassette player in my 1992 vehicle. The radio sounds great, well worth what I paid. The install looks like a factory job.<BR><BR>The only two things I would change is that the radio display does not auto dim when the headlights are turned on (though I button pressed on the front of radio dims the display); and, I wish there was a aux plug on the front.<BR><BR>I recommend this radio... and Crutchfield. The install kit had everything I needed. Nuff said.

Kenwood cd player

Written by: Pete from silsbee,Texas on February 22, 2006

This is a great product. Exceptional sound quality. I love the sound coming from my Kicker 4x6's and 5.25's. This unit is way better than my base model pioneer that it replaced. by the way i'm running a Kicker XS100 competition amp and two tens off of this unit. My single cab Chevy never sounded this good before. I just can't say enough good things about this product. Hope my review helped.

Features

AAC/MP3/WMA Playback: The KDC-MP332 can play AAC, MP3 and WMA files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, and Romeo formats. Each disc should have a maximum of 8 directory levels, 100 folders, and 255 files per folder. During MP3/WMA playback, the unit displays any recorded ID3 Tag information. AAC ID3 tags cannot be displayed.

Satellite Radio Ready: The head unit is directly compatible with the SIRIUS SIR-KEN1 Satellite Tuner for Kenwood (item # 607SIRKEN1). The Terk XMDirect universal XM Satellite Radio tuner (209XMD1000) can be connected to and controlled by the head unit when used with the XMDirect Smart Adapter for Kenwood (209XMDKEN1).

Note: In addition to the optional satellite tuner, you will also need the proper antenna and a subscription to SIRIUS or XM Satellite Radio.

HD Radio Ready: With an optional Kenwood HD Radio tuner (item # 113HR100TR), you will be able to receive digital AM/FM broadcasts from local stations where available. This new technology will significantly improve audio quality and reception, as well as include information such as artist name and song titles or traffic news, viewable on the receiver's display.

System Q Sound Control: Six EQ curves are preset into memory, allowing you to recall the best preset EQ curve for different types of music. Each preset has its own level settings for bass (100Hz), midrange (1kHz), and treble (10kHz). The 6 preset curves with their respective bass, mid, and treble levels are as follows:

  • Rock: Bass +6, Mid +1, Treble +2
  • Pops: Bass +3, Mid +2, Treble +6
  • Easy: Bass +5, Mid 0, Treble -2
  • Top 40: Bass +3, Mid +1, Treble +8
  • Jazz: Bass +5, Mid +2, Treble +2
  • Natural: Bass 0, Mid 0, Treble 0

Speaker Settings: The Speaker Setting function tailors the System Q Sound Control settings according to the type of speakers in your vehicle. You may select a Speaker Setting of "SP Off" (flat), "SP OEM" (for OEM factory speaker systems), "SP 6x9/6" (for systems with 6" and 6"x9" speakers), or "SP 5/4" (for systems with 4" and 5" speakers).

Supreme Setting: This setting improves the sound quality of low bit-rate MP3/WMA files by digitally enhancing the high frequencies.

Source Tone Memory: This feature allows you to store System Q bass, middle and treble tone settings for each source (CD, FM, AM, and CD changer).

Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -8 to 0.

CR-2 Advanced Tuner: This unit uses Kenwood's CR-2 Advanced tuner for clear radio reception. You can choose one of three tuning modes: Auto 1 (seek tuning), Auto 2 (cycles through and tunes the selected band's preset stations only with each button press), or Manual.

Clean Reception System Circuit (CRSC): This circuit controls multi-path distortion by reducing stereo separation. As stereo separation is reduced, multi-path has less effect on the radio signal, improving reception in areas with tall buildings and mountains. The CRSC circuit can be turned on or off.

Last Position Memory: If the unit is shut off or switched to the tuner mode while a CD is playing, the next time CD is selected as the source, playback will resume from the point where it left off.

Disabled System Indicator: A red indicator will blink on the unit after the faceplate is removed, warning potential thieves. This feature can be turned On or Off.

Security Code: You can enter a 4-digit security code which must be used when the unit is removed from the vehicle, or the constant power source is disconnected from the unit. When constant power is restored to the unit, the security code must be entered before the unit becomes operational.

Remote Control: The KDC-MP332 comes with the RC-517 wireless remote control with a full numeric keypad. It is powered by 2 "AA" batteries (supplied). The dimensions of the remote are: L=5.369", W=1.968", D=1.198".

Display Selections: When listening to the radio, you can switch the display between the currently tuned frequency and the clock. During disc play (internal player or external changer), you can switch between the disc or track title (with CD Text disc), track number/play time, or clock. If an MP3/WMA disc is playing, you can display the song title/artist name, album/artist name, folder name, file name, track number/play time, or clock.

Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the unit is in Standby mode, the face/button illumination is "keyed." In addition, while the unit is in Standby mode, you can switch between the Clock Display and "Standby." When the Clock Display is turned on and the unit is in Standby mode, the Clock Display is also "keyed." Pressing and holding the source button turns the unit off completely.

Display Dimmer: The display has two brightness settings. Using the display dimmer button, you can toggle between normal and dimmed.

Changer Controls

Compatibility: This unit is directly compatible with Kenwood changers manufactured in 1998 or later. If the changer has an O-N switch, the switch will need to be set to the "N" position.

Changer Controls: In addition to basic disc navigation features, this unit has the following changer controls: direct disc access (using the remote), direct track access (using the remote), track intro scan, track repeat, disc repeat, disc random, and all disc random.

Auxiliary Input "Ready": When used with an optional adapter, this unit can accept input from an auxiliary source. When the CA-C1AUX adapter (item 113CAC1AX) is used, you cannot connect a CD changer to the head unit because the adapter plugs into the DIN changer control connection on the head unit. When the KCA-S220A 2-changer switch (item 113KCAS220) is used, you can connect a CD changer and an auxiliary audio source at the same time. When an auxiliary audio source is connected, you can choose from one of six names for the source: Aux Ext, TV, DVD, Video, Game, or Portable.

CD Text/MD Display: When connected to a CD Text capable CD changer or an MD changer, this unit can display disc and track titles for discs encoded with disc and track title information. The text information can be scrolled manually or automatically.
