Features and Specs
KAM-1 Power Amplifier Circuitry: This exclusive Kenwood modular amplifier circuit doubles electrical efficiency, producing more power while generating less heat. KAM-1 offers superior sound quality and reliability.
Surround Modes: This receiver incorporates a wide variety of surround modes to bring you maximum enjoyment from your audio and video software. The surround modes include:
- Dolby Digital
- Dolby Digital EX
- Dolby Pro Logic IIx (Movie, Music and Game)
- Dolby Pro Logic II (Movie, Music and Game)
- Dolby Pro Logic
- DTS-ES 6.1 (Matrix and Discrete)
- NEO:6 (Cinema and Music)
- Jazz Club
Speaker Distance: The delay time for each speaker is individually adjustable, allowing for placement that isn't prefect. Each channel (left, center, right, surround left, surround right, surround back, and subwoofer) is adjustable from 1 to 30 feet in 1 foot increments.
Analog Input Level: If one input (analog only) is louder than another, it can be adjusted to -3dB or -6dB to minimize the volume difference.
Surround Back Pre Out: The rear panel left and right preamp outputs can feed an external amp to power two surround back speakers (7.1 channels). When this option is chosen, there is no output from the single speaker level surround back terminals (because you're using 7.1 instead of 6.1).
Midnight Mode (Dolby Digital and DTS Modes Only): Anytime you don't want to experience the loud and soft volume extremes of recorded sound, use the Midnight Mode to reduce volume extremes. This feature keeps loud, dramatic sound from being too loud while ensuring that you can still hear whispered dialogue or other soft sounds, great for night viewing while others are sleeping.
Panorama Mode (Pro Logic IIx and Pro Logic II Music modes only): When listening to music, you can enjoy the "wraparound" sound effect when you adjust the Panorama Mode.
Dimension Mode (Pro Logic IIx and Pro Logic II Music modes only): When listening to music with certain recordings, you will be able to achieve a suitable balance from all the speakers by adjusting the Dimension Mode.
Center Width Mode (Pro Logic IIx and Pro Logic II Music modes only): The Center Width Mode allows you to adjust the position of the center image.
Active EQ: You can enjoy a more impressive sound effect when Active EQ is turned on during Dolby Digital and DTS playback, and when in PCM and analog stereo modes. There are 3 Active EQ modes: Music, Cinema and TV.
Display Dimmer: The display brightness may be set to one of three available settings.
