The KFC-W2511 features a polypropylene cone with a heavy-duty rubber surround that promotes deep excursion. The cone's stainless steel finish creates a remarkably clean look, while adding strength and durability. The massive magnet cover keeps the sub's inner workings safe from the moisture and dust.

A reversible trim ring allows you to top-mount or bottom-mount the sub, and silver-plated push terminals provide a convenient, secure hookup. This sub works in both sealed and ported enclosures, so you can choose tight or boomy bass response.

Priced per speaker

These subs are great for someone on a tight budget that wants to add a little bump to their system. They don't hit very hard but do have good sound quality.

Alright so i bought 2 of these subs since they seemed like a good price and could handle a decent amount of power well when i went to use them my amp died on me so i drove around with them in the box not playing for about a month, nothing wrong their then on a cold night a baseball went through my rear view window and a tiny piece of glass (maybe 2 square mm) put two 3" long cracks up the middle of one of the subs seemed a little pitiful to me so i hooked the good one up free air to my 400 watt amp in my ford ranger just to see them move i had the volume on about 12-35 and they were already X-maxing out (they only have 6mm anyway) a little more disapointing so i decided to buy two 10" type E's and a kenwood amp (since mine died) and MAN DO THEY POUND!!! you can hear me way before you see me and since they are buy one get one free for $130 its even better they dont handle as much power but this rating on the kenwooods is way off DO NOT BUY IF LOOKING FOR CHEST POUNDING BASS ONLY BUY IF LOOKING FOR A CHEAP QUALITY BUMPER (i would say they are equivalents of xplods)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these subs back in july 08. I absloutely love them. They sound great. I put them in my chevy s10 xtreme and built a custom box. When turned up really loud, it doesnt sound as good as other ones I've had, but I still turn heads. I would recommened these to anyone looking for a sub with great sounds but doesnt really want to spend much money on it. Thanks crutchfield for the amazing buy!

Great price, great subs..makes you hungry for more though.

I bought these subs off of crutchfield back in November and have been beating these subs in a sealed box with a 300 kenwood amp. I enjoyed the clean bass that i've recieved from them. I mostly play hip hop and that gangsta ish so it was gonna be a little time before I got bass hungry. Overall I would reccommend these to anyone looking for some clean knock but not rattling your trunk for a low cost. They look great in my Honda for my first system and sounded better then what i expected!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed a set of these speakers(4) and had no volume untill turned at least 3/4 of the way up. I was told I had a bad amplifier form your tech assistance at Crutchfield. I knew the amp was good because my test speaker worked just fine at the factory hook ups. I purchased a new set of speakers from the dealer and they worked just fine.

I'm using this sub in a sealed box and an mtx 600 watt amp. I'm running 2 ohms on this sub. I drive an 01 silverado ext. cab. I don't have a lot of experience with nice subs but listen to some cheap subs in small boxes and you will know what terrible bass is. My box has .92 sq ft of breathing room. The sub hits very nice with a nice wide range. I'm not into competition sound, I just like it loud. I'm somewhat of an audiophile so I like clarity more than anything. I really like this sub and would not hesitate buying it again. Oh yeah, I've owned this sub for one week

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought two 10's and put them in sealed box with .65cu ft per sub and I thought that they would sound nice but they completey exceeded my expectations, after giving them a couple weeks warm up time these things hit so hard and so clean i dont want to turn them all way up because they start rattling my car so bad that it doesnt sound good anymore, I do have an 88 festiva and that is the real the problem. best sub money can buy for the price, great job kenwood, if you do not want rediculous bass then one of these would work, still pretty loud

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just bought a pair of these from Crutchfield, I plan on hooking them up to a Kenwood KAC-8103D 1000 Watt D-Amp. I opened these up and was thrilled to see them, but one of them cracked down the center when I tapped on it. I called up Crutchfield and they immediately sent me a replacement free of charge. I was a little disappointed that it cracked, but I know it was just a freak thing. These are a quick, tight bass sound, which is excellent for In Flames, All that Remains, and As I Lay Dying, and all sorts of rock and metal that I listen to. Excellent product and Superb customer Service by Crutchfield.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I didnt want to spend a ton of money improving the sound in my F150. I upgraded the speakers, added tweeters and a small amp. the sound was good but was missing that range that a subwoofer provides. I added this sub with a 300 watt blaupunkt amp and and a sealed enclosure that i built and OMG! It sounds fantastic! Finally I own a car with a sound system that comes close to the system at have in my house. I bought both the amp and sub from the scratch and dent outlet with no issues. building the enclosure was a little tricky because of the space limations of my truck. i recommend this sub to anyone wanting tight bass with true repsonse and accuracy.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have one 10" sub hooked up to a Blaupunkt PCA 1350 amp, running at 300 watts RMS in my Silverado extra cab and it sounds excellent. I have had it installed for just over a week now, and I am totally happy with the sound the sub puts out. It is real clean with no distortion. I will and have already recommened this sub to everyone.

I'M IMPRESSED...I HOOKED MY WOOFER TO A CLARION AMP APX1300 AND IT SOUNDS GREAT.....HAD A KENWOOD POWERED SUB AND NOW THAT I INSTALLED THIS WOOFER AND AMP.....WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE...I THOUGHT THE 10 INCH SUB WOULD NOT BE ENUFF IN MY 07 CIVIC SI SEDAN AND I WAS WRONG....THIS THING KICKS....ALONG WITH MY POLK COMPONENTS IN THE FRONT AND MY POLKS IN THE BACK POWERED BY AN MTX AP KICKING OUT 70 WATTS PER CHANEL....I CAN REALLY FEEL THE DIIFFERECE FROM MY SETUP NOW COMPARED WITH MY KENWOOD SELF POWERED SUB I HAD IN BEFORE

Great Sub for the price

Written by: Mike from Cleveland, OH on October 10, 2007

I rated this speaker 5 stars because pound for pound it is an excellent speaker. I was very reluctant to buy a Kenwood sub simply because I didn't feel that it could live up to its specs. Its 90 db which is higher then most subs i had researched and its 300 RMS which is perfect for my 300 RMS amp. I run 1 amp and 1 sub in my sedan trunk and this things bangs at a loud volume. I went from a hatchback to a sedan/trunk enclosure so i have been having a hard time getting good bass with only 1 sub. I play my system as loud as possible and just couldn't get my subs to perform to my liking. I am pleased to say that after just 3 days of testing this speaker out and adjusting my gains and EQ properly that this speaker is giving me the sound i need. When I say sound I need don't need super rap sounding bass. I listen to metal and want true bass sound, but i also want it to bang and this speaker does that.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this sub to go along with the Kenwood KAC-9103D amp. The amp puts out 500W at 4 ohms. I was running the amp about 3/4 gain, sensitivity at minimum, and filtered at 150 hertz. After a week it went silent. Crutchfeld was very helpful in replacing it at no cost to me. The speaker sounds great at high and low volumes. If you get this sub in a non-ported box, make sure it has plenty of air to move...it gets hot. Great product otherwise!!
Beautiful!

The subs I have previously owned (Rockford, Sony, MTX, Visonik, and Alpine), I would have to say these subs were the second best sounding. MTX was my most favorite brand but for some reason, I sold them! These subs are really nice looking and it hits lows better than my other subs (except MTX). I didn't buy these subs from Crutchfield, a friend of mine bought me two of these from a blowout sale we had here on Maui recently...I was so happy! I love electronics. But...I recently got another catalog from Crutchfield and something caught my eye...There were some sales going on, and so I decided to upgrade my subs again...To MTX Thunder 4500...I can't wait to get them!

Aside from that, these subs are a must have, it's got a good kick to it, and hits lows pretty well...Take my word, ANYTHING you buy from Crutchfield, you can't go wrong...EVERYTHING is awesome! Don't pass up ANY deal you see on this online-store!

good sound at low volume

Written by: J from Somewhere, VT on June 14, 2007

I bought these to replace a pair of aging Infinity 1042W's that I have. I powered them through a Kenwood 1000W max amp 500RMS and mounted in a 2.2 cubic foot sealed box and they sounded awesome at low volumes. However, whenever I cranked them up they bottomed out very easy. There is not much excursion to these subs and you can tell. If you aren't looking for too much bass then these should work. So I returned them and am sticking with my Infinity's for a little longer till I can afford another set of infinity's or some Alpines.

The specs on these got me interested enough to buy a couple. They more than lived up to my expectations. I put one of them in a QLogics Type 1 box that I had sitting in my basement to test it out. The speaker puts out clean, clear, crisp, punchy bass at all volume levels.

I was originally buying just one for my wife's vehicle, but the deal for two was too good to pass up. Now, after listening to it, my plans have changed a little. I'm still putting one in my wife's car. The other is joining a Boston G2 12" in mine to round out my system. I had no intention on keeping the second one, but like I said; after listening to it I cannot let it go.

Buying this speaker is a good idea. It sounds exactly like you want a 10" subwoofer to sound. You will not be disappointed.

Features

Woofer: The cone is constructed of a stainless steel coated injection-molded polypropylene. The stainless steel coating adds to the polypropylene's strength and heat resistance characteristics resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.

Surround Material: The woofer utilizes a high excursion rubber surround for added durability and better bass performance.

Super Linear Spider: The woofer features a Super Linear Spider design. In this design, the Spider roll gradually becomes higher towards the center enabling this area to withstand more stress with less stretching. This design transfers up and down movement outward to reduce stretching the center area of the woofer. Because the spider's outward portion has more surface area to better dissipate stress from the center, this helps to reduce mechanical damage during increased excursion and enables the subwoofer to withstand more power.

Long Stroke Design: The pole piece has been extended to provide a more linear magnetic field for woofer operation. This lowers distortion and provides the woofer with better low frequency response.

Double Stacked Magnet: The stacked magnet assembly is used to create a powerful linear motor with increased excursion capability for superior bass output.

Spring Post Assembly: The woofer features a compression input terminal assembly that will accept up to 8-gauge speaker wire.

Decorative Ring: For an added decorative look the woofer comes supplied with a Plastic decorative ring that mounts over the flange of the woofer. When using the Plastic ring the woofer is first set into place and the ring is set on top the woofer, aligning all eight holes of the woofer with the ring. The supplied mounting screws are then secured into place. The decorative ring increases the mounting height of the woofer to 1.0".

Reverse Mounting: The Kenwood woofer can be mounted in either direction. The mounting ring that is supplied with the woofer provides and easy and cosmetically finished look regardless of the mounting direction.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Kenwood range from 0.6 cu/ft to 1.5 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Kenwood is 1.0 cu/ft.

Vented Box Volume: The vented box sizes recommended by Kenwood range from 0.75 cu/ft to 1.75 cu/ft. Within this range, the ideal size recommended by Kenwood is 1.25 cu/ft. One 3" diameter x 7" long port should be used with a 1.25 cu/ft enclosure.

Power Handling Note

Power Handling: Kenwood has established "Rated", "Maximum" and "Peak" input power ratings for this woofer. The "Rated" input power spec is equivalent to the RMS Power Handling, the "Maximum" input power rating is a continuous power handling specification, and the "Peak" input power rating is equal to the "Peak Power Handling". The power ratings are as follows:

 • "Rated" input power: 300 watts
 • "Maximum" continuous input power: 600 watts
 • "Peak" input power: 1,000 watts
