Check out the KFC-W3016PS 12" sub — you get a heavy-duty polypropylene cone reinforced by a tough rubber surround that accommodates the extra-long cone excursion. And this sub handles up to 400 watts RMS, so you can rock out out with plenty of thunder.

Powerful, reliable bass

Kenwood puts decades of experience into building their Performance Series subs, so you can have powerful, reliable bass in your vehicle. Check out the KFC-W3016PS 12" sub — you get a heavy-duty polypropylene cone reinforced by a tough rubber surround that accommodates the extra-long cone excursion. And this sub handles up to 400 watts RMS, so you can rock out out with plenty of thunder.

The Square Array Pattern reinforces the cone so that it won't warp during heavy bass production. A dual ventilation system pulls heated air out of the motor structure through the back and the sides of the sub, so the inner works stay cooler during those long, loud jams. Put this Kenwood in a suitable enclosure, power it with a nice amp, and get ready to party.

Product Research

Features

Cone: The KFC-W3016PS uses a polypropylene cone and rubber surround for added durability.

Heat Transfer System: A dual ventilation system design helps keep the motor structure cool, improving power handling and longevity.

Double Stacked Magnet: The stacked magnet assembly is used to create a powerful linear motor for superior bass output.

Spring Terminals: The spring post terminals on one side of the woofer connect to your amplifier's wiring. The posts will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Sealed Box: Kenwood recommends a sealed enclosure with an optimum internal volume of 1.25 ft³ (from 0.7 ft³ to 1.8 ft³ is acceptable). Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.

Ported Box: Kenwood recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 2.0 ft³ (from 1.2 ft³ to 2.5 ft³ is acceptable) using a 12-3/4" x 1-1/2" x 21-1/2" slot port. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from a given amp. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output.

My enclosure is .85 cu ft will that work for this sub? It is for a truck and is under the seat so my options are kind of limited. Thanks (A friend told me it should work but want to double check)

Your stated airspace is slightly too small for the 12" and slightly too large for the 10". You can use either size and they will work in your enclosure though. Kenwood just recommends their airspaces for optimum performance. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5
