D1 Series 12" subwoofer

Your factory bass is about as exciting as driving over a speed hump. Diamond Audio designed D1 subwoofers to rev up the bass in your car — you'll hear lots of heavy, satisfying low notes that make for a very entertaining ride, even if it's just across town.

Built for accuracy

This 12" D1 sub features a polypropylene cone that's injection-molded for consistent strength across the cone area. A large-roll rubber surround secures the light, responsive woofer for precise cone movement, so you'll hear accurate, right-on bass. The brushed titanium finish on the woofer cone gives this sub a glossy, high-end look.

Big voice coils

Diamond Audio furnishes this sub with hefty 2" voice coils for good power handling. The dual 4-ohm voice coils give you options to wire up a multi-sub system or draw more power from your amplifier. Diamond uses a heavy-gauge stamped steel basket (nearly twice as thick as most other subs) to give this sub the strength and stability it needs, so you know it'll rock hard for the lifetime of your system.

Enclosure Compatibility

Features

Dual 4Ω Voice Coils: The D1 12D4.2 features dual 4Ω voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2Ω load; when wired in series, the woofer presents an 8Ω load.

Cone: The titanium finished IMPP (Injection Molded PolyPropylene) cone and rubber surround stand up to the harsh automotive environment.

Spring-Post Terminals: The spring-post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, and bare wire up to 8-gauge.

Concealing Ring: The included rubber trim-ring provides a mounting gasket and gives the subwoofer a finished look.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Enclosure: The recommended sealed box volume is 1.2 cubic feet.

Vented Enclosure: The recommended vented box volume is 1.75 cubic feet with a 4" diameter, 8-1/2" long port; resulting in a tuning frequency of 41 Hz. A 30 Hz sub-sonic filter is recommended for vented enclosures.
