Powerful D6 Series 15" sub

You'll spend a Saturday afternoon giving your ride the old buff 'n shine — now it's time to clean up your bass response for a more polished sound. Diamond Audio designed D6 Series subwoofers for clean, cool-running performance so you'll hear potent, refined bass that makes for a very entertaining ride, even if it's just across town.

anodized alloy cone

Heat dissipating alloy woofer

This 15" D6 sub features a rigid, lightweight anodized alloy cone held in place by a sturdy, special-design rubber surround. Diamond Audio uses an aluminum-finned radial heatsink to pull damaging heat away from the motor assembly — the alloy cone and aluminum dust cap also direct heat upwards and outwards, so it doesn't end up trapped in your subwoofer enclosure.

aluminum-finned radial heatsink

High power handling from 3" voice coils

Hefty 3" aluminum-coated copper voice coils dissipate even more heat for exceptional power handling. The dual 2-ohm voice coils give you more options for wiring the sub into your system, and make it easy to add a second D6 sub later on.

Non-resonant aluminum basket

non-resonant basket

The cast aluminum basket gives this sub the stable foundation it needs to deliver faithful, uncolored bass for the lifetime of your system. Diamond Audio's proprietary O2 casting technique creates a denser, less porous basket that virtually eliminates unwanted resonance, so your favorite music sounds just as the artist intended.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Enclosure Compatibility

Dual 2Ω Voice Coils: The D6 15D2 features dual 2Ω voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load; when wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Cone: The anodized alloy woofer cone is both rigid and light weight. The aluminum dust cap adds to the woofer's rigidity and helps draw heat away from the voice coil.

EPDM Surround: The EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) Rubber surround offers high cone excursion and long term durability.

Dual Mirror Image Flat Spiders: Dual-opposing spiders offer superior mechanical stability during high excursions, while maintaining linear travel.

Cast Aluminum Basket: The cast aluminum basket is rigid and non-resonant. Additionally, the large aluminum mass helps reduce the voice coil former temperature, thereby increasing power handling.

Spring-Post Terminals: The spring-post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, and bare wire up to 8-gauge.

Concealing Ring: The included rubber trim-ring provides a mounting gasket and covers the mounting screws, giving the subwoofer a finished look.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Enclosure: The recommended sealed box volume is 2.25 cubic feet.

Vented Enclosure: The recommended vented box volume is 3.0 cubic feet with a 4" diameter, 11" long port; resulting in a tuning frequency of 30 Hz. A 30 Hz sub-sonic filter is recommended for vented enclosures.
