About the Monster Cable® 400dcx2
Great performance and value
Great performance and value
Lots of audiophiles feel that digital coaxial cables perform better than optical cables in demanding systems. And when it comes to high-resolution audio, coaxial connections support audio transfer all the way up to 24-bit/192kHz, while optical connections are usually limited to 24-bit/96kHz. We've also noticed a recent trend of some Blu-ray players including a coaxial digital out, but no optical. Anyone looking for a high-performance digital coax cable that's also reasonably priced should consider Monster's 400dcx2.
Ideal for stereo and surround sound
Whether you're connecting surround sound sources like a cable/satellite box or Blu-ray player to your home theater receiver, or hooking up an old CD player to a new outboard DAC, Monster's 400dcx2 will keep those digital bits flowing correctly. Working from the inside out, Monster starts with a high-purity solid-core copper conductor, surrounds it with a special gas-injected dielectric material for low signal loss, then wraps that in a 100% foil shield to suppress external noise sources that can harm audio clarity.
Product highlights:
- solid-core copper center conductor
- gas-injected dielectric for low-loss signal transfer, even over long runs or when cable is bent
- 100% foil shield rejects noise and interference
- patented 24k gold contact 6-cut Turbine® RCA connectors with split-tip center pin for a reliably snug fit
- Duraflex® protective jacket is extremely flexible for easy routing and installation

Features
Silver 400 Series Digital Coax Audio Cable: The Monster Silver 400 series digital coax cable features a 100% foil shield and additional copper braid, suppressing outside noise sources that can compromise signal transfer and audio clarity. A specially engineered dielectric maximizes bitstream transfer, even over long runs or when the cable is bent. High-purity copper conductors and 24k gold contacts enhance signal integrity for powerful sound effects and crystal-clear dialogue.
Silver 400 Series Cable Technology: The Monster Silver 400 series digital coax cable employs a solid-core center conductor for faster transients and greater clarity and a 100% foil shield for enhanced noise rejection and protection against interference. A gas-injected dielectric is used for highly-velocity signal transfer, even over long runs or when cable is bent. The outer Duraflex protective jack is flexible for easy routing and installation, plus resistant to abrasions and temperature extremes.
24K Gold RCA Connectors: The Monster Silver 400 series digital coax cable features a 24K gold mono-RCA connector on each end. These 24K gold 6-cut turbine connectors offer improved signal transfer and corrosion resistance. Each connector has a split-tip center pin for maximum contact pressure and ultra-low signal distortion. The rubber "O" ring grips make for a no-slip design that allows easy connector handling.

Great cable, an excellent value. I use them with a Cambridge Audio CD transport and a Sonus Connect connected to a DacMagic 100 (all purchased at Crutchfield after some great advice, thanks ladies and gents!) and am very, very pleased. A great value.
