Nice upgrade over Interlink 400!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this because I have been very pleased with the improvement an M850I interconnect had made over a Gold Series and the M650i was one third of what I had paid for the M850i. I installed it in place of a Monster Cable Interlink 400 and did not expect much difference, but it proved to be a major improvement in clarity and detail overall, and tautness of bass in particular. I am very pleased and would highly recommend it if you can get it at a reasonable price. I haven't compared it directly to the M850i, but I'm pretty sure they would sound quite similar. The M650i falls short of the refined sound of my more exotic interconnects which use gold-plated OCC or silver-plated OFC conductors.

Pros: Nice build quality and connectors. Very good sound quality at an extremely reasonable price. Crutchfield shipped quickly and packaged well, so it arrived in perfect condition.

Cons: None at this price point.

Good multimedia cables

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I tried these cables in 8' and 4' sizes with a CD stereo system to see how they compared to the M400i and the AQ evergreen. They are considerably better than the 400 but not quite as clear as the evergreens. But I liked them overall and decided to move them from the stereo to the home theater that I'm still working on. The 8' are good enough stereo preamp to sub cables and the 4' were used to connect the blu-ray analog out to the AVR CD inputs. The stereo I tested them with is more sensitive to cables so I could tell that these had full range and the highs were better than the M400i. They make a solid connection with a split tip and typical tight outside fit. I make sure to twist them clockwise when putting them on and when taking them off so they expand and come off easier. I didn't have any issue with the plugs hitting each other on any equipment. They are large enough to almost touch which makes it harder to get a grip for the clockwise twist and wiggle to remove them. I don't have enough experience to say why the evergreens sound clearer but I could tell the difference. These are great cables for metal and hard rock or subwoofers. These are a great value for the price and I trust Crutchfield to carry good quality parts.

Pros: Great value from Crutchfield. Full range sound and solid connections.

Cons: Subtle blurring effects on vocals and instrumentals.

Molded plastic is too thick

Written by: Gogman from Boston MA on January 7, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Monster brand plugs are usually great but these have plastic molded ends that are much thicker than need be. I had a really hard time getting the to fit side by side on my Sony ES receiver.

Pros: Nice construction on par with Monster Brand quality. (That's all well and good but if they don't fit then what)

Cons: The connection end housing (diameter) were much too big, I had to really for the into my Sony ES receiver's left and right channel inputs. They need to redesign these.

From the delicate rustling of leaves to a thundering explosion, today's high-end audio components and 24-bit CDs and DVDs deliver audio with tremendous clarity and dynamics. But the sound you hear is only as good as the weakest link in your system. If your cables are not as advanced as your audio components, they may prevent you from enjoying films and music the way the director or producer intended. That's why the M Series M650I combines several of Monsters most advanced audio technologies, ensuring great sound with full sonic impact.

Bandwidth Balanced Design: The M650I stereo audio cables' Bandwidth Balanced construction features positive and negative conductors, including a large bass conductor and a second wire network for high and midrange frequencies. The result is high-resolution audio with exceptional clarity and balance; never sounding flat or artificial.

Patented Time Correct Windings: Patented Time Correct windings accurately transfer highs & lows with improved clarity and definition.

Extra Protective Shielding: 100% aluminized Mylar foil shield provides optimum isolation from noise and outside interference.

MultiTwist Construction: For enhanced imaging, depth and soundstage, the M650I stereo audio cable features extra-tight MultiTwist construction.

PEX Dieletric: A premium PEX dielectric enhances signal transfer for lower inter-transient noise and greater audio clarity.

Duraflex Protective Jacket: The duraflex protective jacket is flexible for easy routing and installation.

24K Gold, 8-Cut Turbine Connector: The patented 8-cut Turbine connector with 24k gold contacts optimize conductivity and corrosion resistance.

Directional Arrows: Directional arrows indicate direction of signal flow. The cable shield is grounded at the source component so induced noise does not travel to next component.
