In order to capture all of the base produced by the subwoofer, I need to reduce the 2-channel output to one. While my subwoofer does work w/o this adapter, there's about a 30% loss of base. This Y-Adapter by Monster does what its supposed to do and the result is earth-shattering base. I recomend this adapter for those w/ older subs, but if you have a newer sub w/ a single channel output, you don't need it. Also, other Y-Adapters I've tried are either cheaply made or are the cable is so thick, the adapter doesn't flex. This Y-Adapter suffers from neither cheapness nor inflexibility. It's perfect , for forward-firing or down-firing subwoofers. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Buying this adapter was a waste of money for me. Although not labeled with a L/MONO input, my powered subwoofer doesn't require separate left and right inputs to work properly. You can plug a mono cable into the left input and leave the right input empty. 2 out of 6 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? When I called in for advice about what I needed in the way of cables to connect the subwoofer to my receiver, I was told I needed this adapter. When I called back after trying to get the subwoofer to work, it was discovered I did not need the adapter after all. 8 out of 31 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
