Monster Cable 400 subwoofer

Written by: RobW from Missouri on December 28, 2014

A high quality product. If you are not sure about the length of the cable just remember the longer the better. You can always store the excess length, impossible to stretch the required length. This also allows you to experiment with various placements of your sub woofer.

Pros: Nice secure fit. My cats are always messing around the back of the sub woofer and the cable stays looked in place.

Cons: None

Good cable, functions like it should. It's overpriced for a cable, but most of them are. It was convenient to purchase from Crutchfield with other equipment.

Pros: Works like it should.

Cons: Over priced.

I was not sure if spending a few extra dollars on a monster cable would be worth the money, but the sound on my subwoofer is too important to my system to chance. The new Monster Cable was of the highest quality and I feel more confident that I am optimizing my system properly.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The connector of my old sub-woofer cable had snapped and I needed to replace. I received excellent help from the Crutchfield salesperson and chose the Monster Cable. The sound quality has been perfect. I'm very satisfied. Unlike another reviewer I wanted a tight connection so that the cable would not come lose and break like my previous one.

Not to be overrated

Written by: Jason from Colorado on August 8, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My buddies all make fun of me for buying "overpriced' wiring while they all shop at monoprice for the cheap stuff. I'll be the first to tell you it's worth the difference for good quality wire. The number of strands in speaker wire matters, the resistance to corrosion matters, my buddies don't get it. This subwoofer cable from Monster is worth having, it won't let you down. The quality of wire isn't quite as important in home audio as car audio, the moisture and heat/cold aren't really a factor, but over time there will be a difference.

Pros: Best quality wire you're gonna get unless you can custom build your own cables and have the materials.

Cons: none.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cable seems to be well made and feels very substantial. The ends are a little bigger than I thought they would be, they won't pass through a 1/2" hole, probably needs to be about 3/4" instead. It took a second to figure out you have to "unscrew" the housing a little to expand the connector. Although after it's on, and you screw it back down and it's very tight, I can see how it would be easy to bend it up trying to force it on. Also it's a directional cable so you're suppose to use one designated end on the amp and the other on the speaker.
