Install a new radio in your Sprinter
Install a new radio in your Sprinter
Axxess' XSVI-1788-NAV interface ensures that you can keep the non-amplified factory speaker system in your Dodge or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter when you replace the factory radio. Connect the wires from this interface to the wires on the new stereo's wiring harness, and your power, ground, and factory speaker connections are covered. If your Sprinter has steering wheel audio controls and your new car stereo can work with a steering wheel adapter, you can plug the Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel control interface (sold separately) into this adapter's pre-wired harness. That way, you can keep those handy factory controls working with your new radio.
The XSVI-1788-NAV interface also offers the parking brake, reverse, mute, and Vehicle Speed Sensor (V.S.S.) outputs that you'll need if you're installing a navigation receiver. If you like your radio to keep playing after your vehicle is turned off, this interface also supports Retained Accessory Power (RAP) which keeps the music going until the door is opened.
Important installation note: This interface will not work with the factory amplified audio system in select Sprinter models.

Features
Vehicle Compatibility: The Axxess Integrate XSVI-1788-NAV interface module is compatible with the following 2007-up Dodge and Mercedes Sprinters (without amplified systems or when replacing the factory amplifier); as of 5/20/2014.
Make | Model | Year |
---|---|---|
Dodge | Sprinter | 2007-2009 |
Mercedes | Sprinter | 2010-up |
Accessory Output + R.A.P.: In the Doge vehicles listed above, there are no 12-volt accessory wires currently in the factory harness making the installer run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The XSVI-1788-NAV is designed to provide a 12-volt, 10-amp switched accessory output along with the rest of the wires needed to install an aftermarket radio. The R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power) function, where power is supplied to the radio after the ignition is shut-of until on of the front doors are opened, is retained by the XSVI-1788-NAV.
Aftermarket Navigation Compatible: The XSVI-1788-NAV also provides essential wires required for aftermarket radios that have navigation. Provided are VSS (Vehicle Speed Sense), Reverse, and Parking Brake, This cuts down the installation time since the installer does not have to look for these wires in the vehicle.
Optional Steering Wheel Control Interface: The included wiring harness features a right-angle 3.5mm connector that lets you keep your Dodge or Mercedes Sprinter's OEM steering wheel controls via the optional Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (120ASWC1, sold separately).
Color Codes: Wiring up the XSVI-1788-NAV is like wiring up any other wire harness that would attach to an aftermarket radio's harness. The Metra/EIA wire code can be found on the back of the interface's package that will aid you in the wiring of your aftermarket radio The XSVI-1788-NAV interface contains the following wire leads.
