Adding the extra length really helps with the install and tight working area. Also allows testing before full install to save time.

Too bad it was necessary to have to use an adapter but that is GM for you. Works fine and am glad it was provided free by Crutchfield and glad Metra makes it to remedy GM's weirdness. Did GM do it to save weight or something?

Pros: Works fine, Metra has a good reputation for remedying install issues and this is a good example.

Cons: A bit long in the dash but I fixed that by doing a loop with avoided kinking the cable.

Firstly, I would like to say Thank You to Crutchfield for including the antenna adapter in the purchase of my new Kenwood head unit. I didn't know that the original antenna connection would not be compatible with my head unit. The antenna installation was simple. Just plug and play.

Pros: Plug and play, easy to plug in and install, definitely needed this part

Cons: Only con that I could think of is that the adapter is a little long. Would've liked it to be a bit smaller because the there's not enough space behind the unit but oh well... not that big on an issue for me.

I purchased an in-dash double DIN receiver from Crutchfield for a 2010 Colorado. Crutchfield provided this antenna adapter at no cost as part of the purchase. Unfortunately, the adapter does not quite fit. I contacted technical support. They did not have a solution other than to say there was a note to remove the copper ring inside the adapter.

Pros: None

Cons: Not applicable for my vehicle. Locally purchased a Metra AW-ADGM adapter, which fit perfectly. It also was significantly shorter in length, another plus.

Nice adaptor. Was suggested by Crutchfield as an add on and was absolutely necessary. When I put in my new deck it took seconds to install. Only gripe is it's very long. I installed a media receiver so it was shorter and left a lot of space. Would have been tight with a CD player.
