Metra 40-UV44 Antenna Y-adapter

Overview

This Metra Y-adapter splits the radio signal coming from your antenna, so your car's AM/FM radio and HD Radio® tuner each get the same reception quality. Warranty: 60 days.

This adapter made my custom radio install so much easier than it had been before. My only regret was that I didn't know about this product sooner.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Used to split the signal between my Sony MEX-2200 head end and the Sony XT-100 HD radio adaptor.. Didn't notice any loss of signal strength due to splitting it.

Fixed blocked traffic signal with Kenwood KTC-HR300

Written by: Tim from New Jersey on May 10, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the Kenwood KTC-HR300 HD radio add on for my Kenwood DNX6980. What Kenwood fails to inform you about, is with this HD radio add on, the traffic information is now blocked and you will no longer receive the Navteq traffic to your unit. I contacted Kenwood's service department about this and they confirmed it as well. Numerous web searches about this with no luck for a work around. I finally searched for am/fm splitters, which led me to this product. I installed this from the factory antenna, spilt one end to the HD radio unit and the other end to the headunit's antenna plug. Perfect. Now I recieve the Navteq traffic info, and I can still tune HD radio stations, with no interference from both antennas being plugged in.

Pros: Corrects the issue with HD Radio add on blocking Navteq traffic information

Cons: None

Does it's job

Written by: Eric from Washington, PA on April 21, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got this (and a 120" extension cable) so I could hook the antenna up to both an external HD tuner and the receiver. This allows me to select the regular analog-only tuner if I'm in an area where the HD Radio signal is dropping in and out. This does exactly that.

Pros:

Cons:

Well-built, bargain

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this to be able to switch between my HD tuner and regular HU tuner. Product is very solid, construction looks to be top-notch. Works very well, and for the price, you can't beat it. I HIGHLY recommend this if you are adding an HD tuner to your radio.
