Customer Q&A

Q
will this antenna plug into a fm 750 port of a 2012 GMC Acadia sirius radio?
country  Nov 20, 2023
1 answer
A
This universal replacement AM/FM antenna will not plug into your Acadia's factory radio, Melody. We do not have a vehicle specific replacement antenna option that will match the original radio plug. This antenna is also for AM/FM only and will not pick up SiruisXM satellite radio. The Motorola plug on this replacement antenna will work with aftermarket radios, if you do decide to change the radio. I hope this helps!

Q
What is the thread pitch of this antenna?
eric  Oct 20, 2023
1 answer
A
This specification is not listed in the documents by Metra, Eric. If your plan is to use the detachable mast with your current base and the threat pitch does not match, we would advise installing the base with the Metra AM/FM Antenna. This exact thread pitch specification may be sourced by reaching out to Metra directly. I hope this helps!

Is the Bottom of the Antenna itself Male or Female? got 69 camaro Bottom Mount is ok....Need to be female antenna to screw down on existing mount is it female?

A
Hi Ray, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, the only set in stone info we have on this antenna is that the plug on the cable is a male connection. After reviewing the owners manual, as well as other info we have, I am not able to find any info on the type of connection you will find when you unscrew the mount. I recommend contacting Metra regarding this, so you are sure to get the proper information. You can reach them at 800-221-0932.

Q
This antenna comes with 5 plastic bases that fit into a plastic flat ring. What is the diameter of this ring? So I will know if it will cover the diameter of my antenna hole which is 0.870 inches in diameter.
mark  Mar 02, 2019

A
I believe this will work. The information I have on it lists that its needs at least a 0.665" cutout and has a head diameter of 0.765". The plastic bodies are bigger in diameter than both of those making this antenna work in up to 1" diameter cutout hole

Q
Can this antenna be mounted on a vertical 3/8" thick surface? I need to install on side of a motorhome.
neal s  Jun 27, 2016

A
No this will not work for you , only has small offset adapter so it would stick out . You should need one of the short plastic antennas, it should flip up & down , if not it would only stick out 2-3 inches !?!
