Features

FM Gain: When the booster is on, the FM signal is increased by 15dB.

Installation: In-dash installation requires cutting a 1.5" x 0.815" hole (if the included bezel isn't used), or a 1.995" x 1" cutout (if the included black trim bezel is used). The booster can be mounted under your vehicle's dash using the supplied bracket and bezel.

On/Off: On the front panel of the booster, there is an the on/off switch. A red LED comes on when the booster is on, and you can by-pass the signal amp when desired by turning it off.

Tuning Adjustment: The instructions mention an AM antenna trimmer adjustment. The AM trim adjustment is something done on your radio, the booster does not have a trim adjustment. Note that trim adjustment does not apply to digital radios

I live on the edge of a strong signal from a couple of Philly stations I like to listen too. I thought this but give me the boost I needed to get a few miles of additional reception. Unfortunately, I noticed no perceptible improvement with this device. It now resides in my electrical junk drawer.

I ordered this a number of years ago (2009) to see if I could extend the range that I could pick up any HD signals. I don't think there was any increase in HD range, but It definitely created an annoying hum on the AM band. I disconnected it. It's the only item I've ever bought through Crutchfield that I was disappointed with.

Before I ordered my system... I asked my installer the same question...I was told as long as the antenna was built as an AM/FM antenna it would but too a lesser extent...

Will this improve HD Radio reception, and my radios ability to stay on HD? I have a tuner that toggles between HD and normal FM when I am in marginal signal area.

An inline antenna booster will help with that problem. I have a booster on my system and have added about 30 miles more to the reception .

It will help. As to how much more solid your signal will be, I can't say. But it is a noticeable difference. Good luck.

I have a 2008 Sebring convertible with a basic radio, trying to put in a Kenwood radio...everything works good except the radio, only get one station, any help????

Only one station? First check that the new radio Isn't set in the "Local" position. I assume you live in a rural area? If so, set the radio in the "distant" position so the senstivity is highest. Honestly, I have found that most aftermarket radio reception sucks. Not sure why. Adding a FM External Amplifer may help alittle but it will also increase the noise on the signal. If you truly are receiving only 1 or 2 stations something besides your radio is at fault. ( Or you live out in the boonies somewhere.) Sorry, I could not be of more help. Good luck! Patrick.

I have a bose radio and need to get better reception.I already have an antenna booster on the radio but the station still has stactic.Do you think this will help?

It might, I have had some luck with the amplifier. It isn't a plug in and go setup it does require some tuning. Which may be the reason I'm not able to tell u it's great. If you're not in love with the Bose I would upgrade the receiver to a better unit rather than fool with the amplifier.

I doubt that it will help. I found that it wall only a little better with it on.

I tried this signal amplifier as an attempt to get better signal performance from a new Power antenna. The improvement is marginal. I do not think it is worth the time and effort. I would first look at the grounding situation of your antenna. In my experience as an installer of over 30 years I have found that the two primary reasons for poor signal are: 1.) bad ground at the antenna. 2.) Inferior tuner in the radio. Bose Products are generally pretty good, so my bet is that the antenna is your best option to solve the problem. Another question is: Is this a power antenna? If so and you really want better performance from your radio I would recommend replacing it with a good simple stick antenna. That is ultimately what I did. You can perform a simple test before doing the installation by mounting another antenna to a block of steel or other highly conductive metal, then plug that into the back of your radio. If you see a dramatic increase in signal and clarity, voila you have identified your problem. I would bet you money that this will go much further toward solving your problem.

Unfortunately, this probably wouldn't help. If you're already using a booster and the results aren't satisfactory, this device would probably only make the station as well as the static louder.
john r  Feb 24, 2014

I got this amplifier, but it didn't really help much with the static even though I am in LA... I'm going to get a new stereo with more FM power.
