This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Cructhfield harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you don't know how to use a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors that you'll use to attach the Crutchfield harness to your factory harness.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

Features

Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required and sold separately.

Receiver Wire Harness

Written By Will, Stamford, CT on Friday, February 10, 2012

Really not an adapter at all. Still had to splice all of the wires together and the proper splice equipment was not supplied. This adapter should plug into the existing factory wire harness as well as the new aftermarket stereo but instead it plugs into the factory wire harness and you have to splice that into the adapter that comes with the aftermarket stereo. More work and time than expected
Pros:
none
Cons:
Crutchfield needs to make these adapters plug and play. They know what the factory harness is and what stereo you are buying. Just make an adapter that requires no splicing! PLUG AND PLAY!

Fit perfectly, but printing on some of the color-coded wires hard to read/decipher. Was able to figure out which wires went where through process of deduction

Receiver Wire Harness

Written By Wallace, Flat Rock, MI on Friday, January 27, 2012

It was a perfect fit. I hooked up the power antenna wire on accident (car does not have power antenna) and it made the volume jump up and down, once I got that fixed have had no problems. This was not the harnesses fault, it was my own.
Pros:
Works and is easy to do.
Cons:
None

Suzuki Receiver Wire Harness

Written By dagamed, Gilbert, AZ on Monday, January 23, 2012

The harness fit and worked perfect. Some extra wires left as the factory install didn't have power antenna and dimmer switch. For the Suzuki Grand Vitara the wire color code almost match dead on with Sony Xplod radio deck.
Pros:
Wire color code almost identical to radio deck well documented
Cons:
None
