This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system. First, attach the color-coded wires on your Cructhfield harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you don't know how to use a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors that you'll use to attach the Crutchfield harness to your factory harness. Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days. Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo. Hands-on research from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?) Written By PeteM, Plano, TX on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 I called Crutchfield - who by the way was remarkably helpful - and let them know I saw a different harness kit: Item# 120705701. They mail one out for free and it got here very fast. It took me about 4 weeks to get to trying new harness but Item# 120705701 seems to be PERFECT for my 2003 Mustang convertible. The speakers that are against the windows in front say 'Mach' on them if that helps. Thanks Crutchfield!!!! Top notch support. Pros: This kit makes it VERY easy to install. I think there was two different harnesses for 2003 Mustangs because the first harness that was sent had one connector that didn't fit quite right. I also saw another user with the same exact issue. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 nice kit Written By ChrisL, Baltimore, MD on Saturday, February 19, 2011 The kit is pretty nice. I've only installed a car stereo once and this makes it pretty easy. I got stuck powering the Ford Mach-460 subwoofer but one call to Crutchfield got that straight. There was only 1 small issue with the connections. The white connector did not really snap-in tightly to the Ford connecter in the car. It kept coming unconnected. I plugged it in as hard as I could and then wrapped the entire connection tightly with electrical tape. Everything seesm to work fine but I'll have to run around this summer to see if it stays connected. I figure it will since I wrapped it so tightly with the tape. 2 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Car was a 2002 Ford mustang gt w/ factory mach 460 system. The factory plug controling the amplifiers WILL not fit into the harness crutchfield provides. It is to large. You can stick the two together, wiggle around the harness and you can hear the amps cut on and off. If you want to rig, do so at your on risk. I can see the harness coming loose over time. I see by reading the feedback here im not the only one with this problem. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Was this review helpful? Yes | No 1 out of 5 Bass & Amp didn't work Mach 460 Written By Wayne, Crestview, FL on Saturday, August 28, 2010 2002 Mustang Mach 460 At first I couldn't get the bass and amps to work. Called CF once and they said to check the wires. Lot's of references on the Net of other people having the same problem. I accidently found the white connector on the 5519 harness wouldn't fit tight. The pins on the connector were smaller than the ones on the car's harness. They are also very easy to bend. I put a wire bundle zip tie between the two as a quick fix and it now works great. Others have taken the connector completely out and straight wired the harness. This defeats the whole purpose. Was this review helpful?
