This Metra 70-6504 amp bypass harness allows you to install a new car stereo in your car without having to cut the factory wiring.

Simply splice the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield integration adapter to the wires from your aftermarket stereo — you can crimp or solder the connections in the comfort of your home without having to struggle with splicing wires behind your dash. Next, plug the Crutchfield integration adapter into the harness that you removed from your factory radio.

Since you didn't have to cut off your car's original radio connector, it's easier to put the factory radio back in when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. Just plug the factory radio back in and keep the aftermarket stereo. Warranty: 60 days.

Note: This integration adapter bypasses your factory amplifier. In order to install it and make the necessary connections, you will need to run wires from the adapter to a switched power source and to your factory amp location above the kick panel on the driver's side. You'll lose the factory subwoofer when the amp is bypassed.

Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required & sold separately.

  • There is no switched power wire in any of the harnesses. An additional 42" red wire is included, along with a fuse tap to access a switched +12 volt source in the fuse block.
  • The center channel speaker, if present, is not used in most aftermarket systems.

This kit did what it was suppose to. Came with everything to bypass the amp with plug and play connectors so you don't have to damage the vehicles factory wiring harness. The one thing I didn't know about is you need a antenna adapter that doesn't come with this kit. I do think they should make a different part number for the magnum RT since this kit comes with 15 feet of wire to get to the amp near the steering column which I only needed 3 feet. So they wasted 12 feet of 30 wires. I see this is a universal kit for other vehicles that have the amp near the rear of the car though.

Pros: plenty of wire. correct connectors. works great

Cons: waste of left over wiring

I was iffy at first about bypassing my factory amp, but now that it's done my vehicle rocks. Bypassing the factory amp really woke my factory Alpine speakers up. Before I either had a little bass or all lyrics. Now I have alot of bass and lyrics, best of both worlds.

Pros: My new sounds quality keeping the factory speakers. .. and the price through Crutchfield.

I'm giving it 5 stars even though I didn't use it. The tech from Crutchfield was absolutely awesome in making sure this would fit. I just bought the truck and it came with a Pioneer AVIC Z120BT but the sound wasn't that great. So, after some researching, I found these products to bypass or use with the factory Infinity amp. I get the bypass kit, take my dash apart and there was an AXXESS CHTO-013 amp interface. Everything was hooked up except for the switched pos. I hooked it up and the sound was awesome. I'm still keeping the bypass kit just in case.

Pros: Life is good with something this easy to use. Went from front of car all the way to trunk with about 6 feet of extra wire.

05 Magnum R/T perfect worked flawlessly just had to get a 12v switch the cig lighter dosent work i used a fuse in the trunk but 100% perfect workiing and did all work myself wire it up run the wires and plug it in an put back together

The kit specifies Magnum/Crysler. But this works well on a 2004 RAM. It make the job so much easier. To rewire the wires from the doors would have taken so much longer. For the money this wiring kit is excelent. I would highly recomment it.

This wiring harness made it so easy to bypass the factory Infinity amp in my 2006 Ram. As an added bonus, the harness includes high quality speaker wiring that was more than long enough to go all the way to my aftermarket amp under the seats. It consists of a plug that attaches to where all 7 factory speaker locations connect to the aftermarket amp.

I could not find this anywhere locally, local shops wanted to sell me a $100 bypass kit.
Tip: You will need to find switched power elsewhere in this vehicle. I used the cigarette lighter on the left side of the center panel.
