This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.
First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.
Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness saves installation time since you won't have to cut factory wires individually, and this also enables you to re-install the factory radio if needed. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.
Installation Note: This harness uses your factory amplifier; your new stereo must have two pairs of preamp outputs to connect this harness.
Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.
Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.
This is a great product fits well and its a good price. Its not made cheap, so your getting a high quality product for your price.!!I highly recommend this product.
Pros: Fits well,No need to cut any wires
This harness worked great I had no issues at all with it. Was easy to install.
Pros: Simple and easy
This item was very easy to install in my 2004 Mitsubishi diamante I just had difficulty finding out where the power antenna went in my aftermarket harness but I figured it out. It's a easy sit job for anybody
Pros: Very easy to install
These cables were very useful, they made the wiring very simple & easy, plus, I was able to still use my stock infinity amp. with this radio, more power than I expected. they couldn't make easier unless they came out & did it for me. They are my only chose for upgrading stock radios ever...
Pros: simple, good directions, & phone help..5 stars guys..
This harness is great, depending on your head unit your wiring this to, make sure you read directions and it should be very easy. Once I wired it all up to my sony harness it was so easy to install it, just plug it in and your good.
Pros: This harness just has all the power wires, no speaker wires so wiring it up to a head unit should be easy cause you don't have to spend time with the speaker wires.
Cons: I did have to spend some time online to ensure j was wiring it up correctly.
Does what it says. I had numerous audio dealers tell me to just bypass the factory amp for an aftermarket head unit. About 15 min search at Crutchfield had the proper harness and amplifier integration hook up two days later. Easy button for sure.
web site said I need this to replace the stock stereo in my suv so I bought it. What do I do with it now? What wire goes to what? What do the rca jacks plug into? I don't know...do you know? If so, please tell me.....
Cons:Crutchfield response on March 3, 2015 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Cables worked out of the box, due to car having oem amp, I had to use the RCA in to the deck and than it goes to stock amplifier that is in the car. Everything worked fine, no issues. Cables for power connections where super easy, everything worked out of the box. Cable instructions were easy and straight forward.
Pros: Very simple to connect and use. Worked out of a box.
Cons: Not a coin, but suggestion, wish the RCA's were color coded or at least provide witch one is front and back, right or left... other than that no complain.
I got this so my son could install a new receiver in our 2003 Montero. He's very DIY, but was getting frustrated because he had three blue wires (one from the receiver, one from each harness in this package), and some sources said that connecting the wires a certain way would drain the battery. He got it figured out and everything works now, but he wishes that some instructions were included with the harness.
Pros: Just what we needed
Cons: No instructions, confusion with multiple wires of same color, bulkyCrutchfield response on January 28, 2015 Remember, as a Crutchfield customer, you get access to our Tech Support team, available 7-days a week, free for the life of the product. Not only is our help free, it's also for the life of the product. If your son moves that stereo to another vehicle, they'll be glad to help with that too.
I bought this for my husbands birthday. He did not need this installation kit, but it was okay cause he was able to use the one he had. I just didn't know which he needed and bought it in error.
Really happy with the Crutchfield service. I listed the stereo and the car and he was able to ship out the correct wiring harness at a great price. Best I found on the internet!! Easy to install with the direction that they shipped along free. Could not have been more happy. Installation took 35 min. and I have never installed a car stereo before. Saved me $100 that a large box store quoted me for installation of the stereo I purchased.
Pros: Customer Service, Free Shipping, Full Directions
Cons: I should have also bought the stereo here also, I would have save about $10 and a weeks worth of time looking for the wiring harness. Glad I found them eventually!
Great product to have because it takes all the guess work out of having to worry about what speaker wires go where. Just plug it in and away you go.
Pros: Easy to use and to connect.
Cons: Just need to figure out which of the two RCA jacks go to which ports.
Great product, fits perfect
Worked perfect on my 02 Eclipse.
This adapter made my aftermarket stereo installation very quick, and very easy. I'm glad this was suggested in my cart when I added my product.
Pros: Quick/Easy/Simple and worth the money.
Fit car's harness perfectly and still allowed full use of the amplifier.
Pros: Fits perfectly
Works as advertised. Made the hookup to my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse's stock infinity amp a breeze. Sound quality is just as good as before.
Pros: Ease of use
Cons: Instructions slightly confusing because they were written to cover multiple cars, most of which didn't have the stock infinity sound system that my car does. The labels for each wire were usually easy to comprehend, but the optional power control/amplifier turn on wires were confusing to me at first.
Bought an aftermarket radio for my 2000 Mistubishi Galant GTZ with Infinity sound system and wasn't able to utilize the aftermarket harness I got elsewhere because of compatibility isses. Ordered this one from Crutchfield and it was a cake walk after that. Great product for a specific purpose.
Pros: Very easy to read instructions and very easy to install.
Super easy to understand with included instructions.
The instructions were not clear at all. i am going to have to spend a little extra money on getting someone else to install my new stereo system. not the best but the cords connect really well (The ones that i could get to connect).
Cons: -instructions not clear
The product was easy to use, and I didn't even need to look at the instructions to figure out how to use it. The Crutchfield team was excellent in helping me find what I needed and I want to buy all of my audio needs here now.
Pros: Simple to Use
Cons: no ground cable
Excellent product and ultra fast service. Also the Customer Service is awesome!!!!
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: No cons.
I used this harness adapter on a 2004 Mitsu Lancer with the Infinity Sun and Sound package (Infinity amps and subwoofer). It made hookup to the amp and subwoofer effortless.
Pros: Easy to install and works perfectly
Harness was quick and easy. Swapped out the existing radio, wired the new one in and all done in less than 30 minutes.
Pros: easy and simple connections
Cons: Have to have your own connectors
I used this harness to put a new HU in my 3000GT. It works awesome and made it really easy to install a new HU. The Instructions were easy to follow and fairly clear. I am a happy customer.
Pros: Easy to use Easy to follow instructions good quality
Works just as advertised and have had no issues whatsoever.
Pros: Easy install, installed it myself in about an hour.
Product was necessary, as described, and worked well. Installed in Mitsubishi Eclipse 2002 Spyder GS with upgraded stereo option (CD Receiver with 4 preamp outputs / Infinity Amplifier / extra speakers) .
This harness made for an easy install. Instructions were very helpful and clear
Pros: Works great, made the install super easy
Great product allowed me to use my stock amp in my cars system now it sounds tones better
Pros: Adapt any 4-out head unit to stock amp
It does its job.
Pros: Works great fits perfect
Works great as advertised, as everything with crucified simple and easy instructions to follow with great support staff if needed. Wiring harness was simple 10 minutes to attach to after market radio wires then as quick as plug and go into the truck. Be sure to check connections prior to ordering as this harness is for Mitsubishi with navigation wiring.
Pros: Simple easy to follow instructions
I couldn't imagine trying to hook a stereo up without Crutchfields wiring harness. It would be a nightmare to say the least. I recommend this to any and everyone.
Pros: Very simple
This harness made installing my aftermarket head unit very fast and simple! I would reccomend this to anyone wanting - needing to do the same!
Pros: Fast and easy to install
Cons: Plugs are not the normal red - white
This adapter kit worked flawlessly. It interfaced perfectly between the Pioneer 2 din GPS unit and my 2001 Eclipse Spider GT wiring harness.
I'll definitely order from Crutchfield again.
Pros: No issues what-so-ever Good documentation identifying wire-to-function
Very easy to use
The wiring harnesses worked perfectly. HIGHLY recommend purchasing them. NOTE: when purchasing a unit for the Eclipse, make sure the unit has both front AND rear out puts so that the stock amp my be utilized. Also as a bonus, I was aware that the stock radio display would no longer be functional however the clock is still there.
Pros: All's good
Part connecting to rear of the unit was good. But speaker connections are another story. Had to cut and solder speaker wires . My factory stereo output has six output coaxial(something similar). Cructhfield wire harness offers only 4 speaker output. Looks like a crossover takes place somewhere. But the sound cannot be distinguished from separate speakers. The sound is clustered between two front and one rear speaker.Subwoofer sound sound is very minimal. I may have to take it to a professional installer.
Interfaced perfectly with the Infinity sound (SSL package) on my Evo8. The connectors are nice and wire quality good.
Love radio but was sent wrong wire harness and had to purchace one locally in order to get it in before my sons christmas :(
This integration harness worked perfectly for me. I installed my Pioneer DEH3200UB into my 2001 Galant GTZ and used the harness to connect the Infinity amp which is driving the seven speakers to the headunit. I also have a 12" Infinity Reference subwoofer I wanted to use, so I got two RCA Y-cables (has one male connector on one end and two female connectors on the other) and split my front preouts to connect all four RCA's to the front signal and used the rear signal for the subwoofer, so this harness CAN be used with a subwoofer! Just set the HPF on the deck so the inside speakers play no bass, and you are set, as the aftermarket radio will allow the volume to go higher than the stock headunit. Beautiful sound quality.
This worked perfectly to be able to use the factory Infinity amp without cutting up the harness. Many forums cried about the factory systems being hard to put aftermarket stuff on but this harness made it simple. A+++
Almost as easy as plug & play. Oh wait a minute it is plug and play how sweet is
The wire harness was the one I needed for my car. It had an upgraded factory infinity system
with an amp. all the connections were there and I am very happy with the advisor who
helped me figure out which harness I needed.
This kit made the wiring job so much easier. I installed this kit in a '97 Eclipse Spyder convertible. When I got this car it had an old aftermarket stereo in the dash. This kit even came with the amplifier adaptor so I could use the factory amp I didn't even know I had. Everything came together so fast and easy thanks to this kit.
Easy to hook up, fit exactly.
I purchased a new pioneer stereo and bought a harness for the eclipse.
but i come to find out that i was getting no sound once i installed it. I found
out that i needed the Amp integration harness. I came to cruthcfield got
this Integration Harness for my eclipse, Received it yesterday and re-
installed evertyhing and everything Works! Everything sounds great!
Thanks Crutchfield for the help and the part I needed. I will definately be
coming back for all my stereo needs!
i ordered a kenwood 238 including the harness, i tell you boy! i just snap it to my existing wire on my 01 eclipse with infinity system, attached to the bracket, then put back the receiver in place, wella! i sounds terrific, me and my son was amazed that we did it by ourselves, oh! btw, i called the crutchfield help phoneline and they are superb, thanks a lot
Had the Infinity system in my '95 GSX, and used this harness when replacing the deck. This was great, plugged right in, made my life really easy. I've had to do all the wires in the past and that sucks, so this made things really fast.
This connection works alright if you have the right stereo. If you want subs and your stereo doesnt have 6 outputs than this harness is useless. The speakers are hooked up to the RCA cables not the actual wire from the stereo. I tried cutting and attaching all sorts of connections but no matter what i did I either couldnt use my subs or I couldnt use my rear speakers. I didnt mind not using my rear speakers except they made a high pitch hum when not hooked up. If you dont want subs this makes the install really quick and easy. I had to return my stereo to crutchfeild so i could get one that has six outputs.
Well...It does fit the stock radio harness. But I had to go buy RCA female connections and solder them into the replacement radio's harness, so I could more easily connect the amplifier adapter to the radio replacement harness. The alternative was to cut the RCA male ends off, and attemt to separate the positive from the negative. I think just putting RCA female ends on the Kenwood's harness was easier for me to keep track of. You definately need to know your way around an electrical schematic, both for the original radio harness in the car and the one coming with what ever radio you're replacing it with. It gets a bit confusing, especially if your replacement radio requires a ground (and most do) because the crutchfield adapter does not have a ground wire. You'll have to use the one from your replacement radio harness. After I soldered the three harnesses together (the two from crutchfield and the one from the radio) it looked like a mess, but it worked fine.
Everything worked like a charm until I got to the wiring harness. I hooked it up but I had no power. After 1/2 hour of using my circuit tester I found that one of the wires in the harness was in the wrong slot. I removed the wire and moved it over and everything worked fine. Kind of annoying!
I've used Crutchfield install kits twice before and loved them. Made life easy. This time it was horrible. Its not a direct adapter to the harness, I still had to cut the speaker wires out of the stock harness and connect them to the Crutchfield adapter. The adapter only actually connects four wires of the whole bundle, the other 12 are speaker wires that I have to splice. Not to mention the fact Crutchfield doesn't have an install manual for my series of car (Mitsu 3000GT '91-99). And the kit came with the radio adapter, an amp adapter (which is actually nice and easy) and another adapter that attached to the stock harness, which like I said, is worthless as it only actually connects 4 of the 16 wires. Not happy with the kit.
Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.
Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.
Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required & sold separately.

Factory Amp Note: This harness includes RCA connections (instead of speaker wire leads) to connect the aftermarket head unit's preamp outputs to your vehicle's factory amp. Your aftermarket head unit must be equipped with front & rear preamp outputs.
No Ground Wire:The wiring harness does not included a ground wire. Ground your aftermarket head unit directly to the vehicle's metal chassis.

To avoid the mess of an infinity anti-theft bad sounding audio system all wired into everything including the antenna. Without running wires to everything through grommets and powering the head unit myself. Just all around the best option as long as the amp holds up. [ Joseph Dec 29, 2015 ]
