Overview Details Customer Reviews Category Info Installation Note: This harness uses your factory amplifier; your new stereo must have two pairs of preamp outputs to connect this harness. This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system. First, attach the color-coded wires on your Cructhfield harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you don't know how to use a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors that you'll use to attach the Crutchfield harness to your factory harness. Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days. Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo. Hands-on research from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?) I installed this kit in a '97 Eclipse Spyder convertible. When I got this car it had an old aftermarket stereo in the dash. This kit even came with the amplifier adaptor so I could use the factory amp I didn't even know I had. Everything came together so fast and easy thanks to this kit. Was this review helpful? Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. This integration harness worked perfectly for me. I installed my Pioneer DEH3200UB into my 2001 Galant GTZ and used the harness to connect the Infinity amp which is driving the seven speakers to the headunit. I also have a 12" Infinity Reference subwoofer I wanted to use, so I got two RCA Y-cables (has one male connector on one end and two female connectors on the other) and split my front preouts to connect all four RCA's to the front signal and used the rear signal for the subwoofer, so this harness CAN be used with a subwoofer! Just set the HPF on the deck so the inside speakers play no bass, and you are set, as the aftermarket radio will allow the volume to go higher than the stock headunit. Beautiful sound quality. Written By Brian, Rockledge, FL on Saturday, October 11, 2008 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. Well...It does fit the stock radio harness. But I had to go buy RCA female connections and solder them into the replacement radio's harness, so I could more easily connect the amplifier adapter to the radio replacement harness. The alternative was to cut the RCA male ends off, and attemt to separate the positive from the negative. I think just putting RCA female ends on the Kenwood's harness was easier for me to keep track of. You definately need to know your way around an electrical schematic, both for the original radio harness in the car and the one coming with what ever radio you're replacing it with. It gets a bit confusing, especially if your replacement radio requires a ground (and most do) because the crutchfield adapter does not have a ground wire. You'll have to use the one from your replacement radio harness. After I soldered the three harnesses together (the two from crutchfield and the one from the radio) it looked like a mess, but it worked fine. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
