This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.
First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.
Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness saves installation time since you won't have to cut factory wires individually, and this also enables you to re-install the factory radio if needed. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.
Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.
Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.
Made connecting the stereo pretty easy.
Cons: Wiring diagram could be easier to read. Once I figure out what connected to what the install went smooth.
The installer didn't had any problem with this wiring harness. The radio work without problems. I don't know if the dimmer function works, because I hadn't tested it.
Pros: Work without problems
Okay to answer my question. That no other site could. This fits 2012 lancers, perfectly unlike the ones at walmart and advanced auto etc... and only took like 3 days to come.
Pros: Works easy wiring like all head units
If you can't hear the AM band, check the blue antenna power cable. My Lancer 2009 need the blue cable connected to switch (12+v). Black cable to Ground. Red cable to fuse.
Pros: Easy fit.
Cons: Needs more installation instruction.
harness fit perfect and was shipped fast thanks for all the help Crutchfield
Pros: perfect fit
Worked as advertised!
Pros: Perfect Fit!
Works exactly as designed, easy to install.
Pros: Easy to instal
The Crutchfield order was smooth and very pleaseant. If I ever make any purchase my first priority is doing so from Crutchfield. However the sosche dash kit wasn't the best fit for my 2011 lancer. Other than that I was happy with the sale and it was a pleasure doing business with Crutchfield.
Pros: Good radio. Pleasant transaction
Cons: Sosche dash kit wasn't the best fit.
Good quality connector.
Pros: Good quality
Cons: Missing SVC pins. Pinout on packaging is general, and has some lines missing in this connector.
Thank goodness for wiring harnesses. This made installing the radio so easy. I just matched the colors and connected them. Then hooked the plastic ends together and the radio was working.
Pros: It made installing the radio by myself so much easier
Cons: Some of the colors did not match perfectly.
I luckily got all the pins and it matched the factory wires. Just connect all the wires that match color/function.
Pros: Fits, easy install
It does what it is suppose to do but I can't get the axxess steering wheel control to work with it so it's still a work in progress
Pros: It powers up the radio
Cons: Didn't work with my axxess steering wheel harness....Crutchfield response on June 2, 2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
This harness did not match up to my OEM 2012 Lancer DE radio harness. It works but I had to wire in separate power and ground, which was not noted in the instructions or by Crutchfield. It took a lot more work to install. I have install several radios and never had this problem before.
Cons: Does not connect to Power or Ground
Nothing at all to complain about here, it worked fine. All connections were there, correctly color coded, wired it up and done.
Pros: correct color coding, fit perfectly
Cons: None, it all worked great
Instructions are pretty straight forward and fit my model precisely.
Pros: Easy to install.
Great product. Easy to use
made the install quick and easy without cutting any part of my OEM wiring harness. worth every penny.
Pros: clean, quick, easy
I hate wiring these things but it fit with everything on my 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer and It works just fine.
Cons: None found
There are certain circumstances that keep the makers of this product (Metra) from getting every car right; this one is one of them. This harness does not fit the DE trim of Mitsubishi Lancers. Mine is a 2010 DE and after looking at the harness and the factory harness, the wires don't match up. After finding this out and spending all night trying to figure out the factory wire colors and their purpose, which was eventful, I determined that I had to cut into the factory harness and wire it myself. This was confirmed by both Crutchfield and Metra customer service. Hopefully Crutchfield and Metra will add the DE to the "Not-Compatible" list, because it would have saved me a great deal of time not even messing with this harness in the first place. Buyer beware! This didn't work for me but if you have the regular 4 speaker system in the higher trim levels, you should be good.
Cons: Did not fit vehicle even though compatibility finder said it did. Led me to a ton of work that wasn't necessary.
This harness hooked up perfectly!
Very Easy And Simple To Install I Have It With The New SONY XNV-770BT and It Is Install In 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
The switched power lead was not matching how my car was wired. Never figured it out. Ended up wiring it to the constant power so now have to manually power off stereo.
It fits the OEM plug, the problem is that there is no accessory power at the OEM plug for the 2010 Lancer!, so you'll have to rewire the power yourself. My advice is that if you have limited or no knowledge take it to a shop. At least all speaker wires and constant 12V matched.
This harness has nice build quality. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't
missing pins 9 and 19, which are used for steering wheel controls. As it was, to
avoid splicing into the factory wires, I had to tear apart another harness to
get the pins I needed.
Works great in my EVO X with the Eclipse AVN2210p.
Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.
Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.
Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required & sold separately.
