Metra 70-7303 Receiver Wiring Harness

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so, then check here for a list of parts. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicles may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional SWIC adapter is required & sold separately.

Perfect Adapter for 2009 Hyundai Accent

Written By JAD110, Severn, Md on Sunday, December 22, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This adapter mates perfectly with the OEM radio connector in a 2009 Hyundai Accent. The connector locking mechanism holds it securely.

Pros: Mates perfectly. The wire color coding matches very well with the OEM wiring and the radio interface connector.

Cons: Takes some time to splice into the radio's interface assembly.

Nice match

Abosutely Necessary

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The included instructions with the diagram were excellent. The requirement to attach one particular wire was not clear and had to call Crutchfield for assistance . . . they cleared it up quickly and got the unit operating properly.

Pins didn't line up!

Written By Rob, Monroe, CT on Thursday, January 24, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Part is physically correct (ie the harness fits the OEM harness), but the factory amp turn-on wire wasn't lined up to the correct port on the harness (2009 Kia Rondo). Only after hours of troubleshooting (and installing the PAC SOEM, which wasn't needed) was this revealed.

In short - check to make sure the wire the harness is lined up to is actually connected to a wire on the OEM end - mine wasnt!

Good luck

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There was no connector for power to the antenna preamp. They don't tell you the red connector isn't used. Without the wiring diagrams for the car, I don't think I could have made it work.

Pros: Barely adequate.

Cons: You have to have the wiring diagram for your vehicle.

Oh My God

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perhaps it has been 20 years since I last replaced a factory radio, but I did not expect to deal with so many different colored wires and crimping. My wife thought I just started brain surgery and gone way over my head. I was hoping to just connect this to this and to that. But in the end, it worked out despite having to make some executive, educated guessing.

Pros: It worked out in the end.

Cons: Lots of wires to crimp and caused stress, frustration and confusion

Not the correct part!

Written By Mike M, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 13, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not happy. On a better note, everything else we ordered was fantastic.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: After having my rep check with the tech department to verify that this was the correct part for a 2008 Tucson, I was very disappointed to have to buy a new harness when a tech was installing the unit.

Metra 70-7303 Receiver Wiring Harness

Written By Anonymous, Atlanta, GA on Monday, December 21, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this for my 2009 Hyundai Elantra and it did not fit. The 2009 Elantra uses the 24 pin plug that the 2008 uses, so do not buy this for the 2009. Pull out the factory radio first before buying a plug online so you can make sure not to be stuck with something that doesn't fit.
