If you don't know how to use a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors that you'll use to attach the Crutchfield harness to your factory harness. Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days. Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo. Hands-on research from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?) Yes | No 1 out of 5 Wrong harness Written By Phil, Virginia Beach, VA on Thursday, November 03, 2011 Did not work/fit on a 2011 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab (w/ standard speakers) - a big inconvenience after going thru the trouble of preparing the wiring, removing stock radio and unplugging everything to get ready to install my JVC KW-XR810. Eagerly started to work on the installation on a Saturday only to be greatly disappointed. Crutchfield could'nt send me a replacement until Tuesday (but they were very apologetic and comp'd me on the replacement). BTW, I placed this order via phone - sales rep and what's on the website say it fits the vehicle. Not so. Cons: Wrong harness. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? All Legacy models have the controls, so why doesn't the harness have the wiring??!!! Using this with steering wheel control requires jumping over the harness. What a hassel! 1 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Wiring Harness Written By Pete P., Windham, Me. on Wednesday, October 05, 2011 I opted to solder and tape the connections and that made a solid installation real easy to do. All of the wires were color coded so a one at a time approach made it foolproof. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Could be perfect with a little extra work Written By Devo, VA on Saturday, September 03, 2011 The harness fit a 2010 Subaru Impreza very well -- all connections were solid, and it connected very nicely to the factory harness. The only issue I have with this harness is that it does not include pins 4 and 14, used to connect the steering wheel interface with the head-unit. I ran out to the local big box store to pick up a spare harness, scavenged two wires, and installed them in the correct positions. Worked like a charm, but would have been better to have them installed out of the package. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 2 out of 5 Why no crimp connectors? Written By Richard, Orlando, FL on Saturday, August 20, 2011 This is my third installation over the years and it doesn't make any sense that you would not include Crimp Connectors. I think most people would use them over solder. You try and make everything else easy for the installer and then you make them go to the store and find and buy Crimp Connectors before they can install the radio. I think most of your customers are end users and not professional installers. Was this review helpful?
