About the Metra 70-8113 Receiver Wiring Harness

Metra 70-8113 Receiver Wiring Harness

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

Metra 70-8113 Receiver Wiring Harness

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness saves installation time since you won't have to cut factory wires individually, and this also enables you to re-install the factory radio if needed. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.

Installation Note: This harness uses your factory amplifier; your new stereo must have two pairs of preamp outputs to connect this harness.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

Features

Wiring Harness: This wiring harness prevents you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Neither installation tools, hardware, nor accessories are included, but sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations and availability.

Wiring Notes: If the wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required & sold separately.

Q
My android radio has 2 rca inputs. Would a rca splitter work with this?
justin  Aug 28, 2023
1 answer
A
Perhaps we mean that the radio has 2-channels of RCA outputs. If this is the case, you could potentially use a set of RCA Y-adapters to get 4-channels of connections for this harness. However, depending on the output strength of your radio, splitting the outputs could lead to lower volume levels.

Q
I bought an android 10 head unit. what type of wiring harness will I need to connect to my 2001 toyota landcruiser?
sylvester  Feb 22, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Sylvester, and thank you for your question. If your Land Cruiser came from Toyota with the factory navigation system, we would not have a harness to install an aftermarket stereo. If it did not come originally with factory navigation, we have two harness's. This would retain the factory amplifier located under the passenger seat. www.crutchfield.com/p_120708113/item.html This harness would bypass that factory amplifier, and would require running the new wires to the output side of the factory amplifiers harness. www.crutchfield.com/p_120708116/item.html

Q
Will this allow me to play music through my stock speakers in my 2001 Toyota Camry and hook up a sub of my aftermarket radio if it has 3 sets of rca ports?
melany  May 04, 2021
1 answer
A
A receiver does need three sets of preamp outputs to use this harness as well as install an aftermarket amp/sub system. Those 3 sets of RCA outputs need to be front, rear, and sub outputs.

Q
Why wont this work in my 2007 toyota matrix?
edwin  Jan 29, 2021

A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Q
Does this fit in a 2003 Toyota Solara with JBL? I pulled the dash and the radio - the connector looks the same but there are no RCA connections behind. Can I cut those (RCA) off and wire to my radio harness or does it need something for it to work?
booradley  Oct 20, 2020
1 answer
A
This wiring harness will work to install aftermarket radios into your 2003 Solara. You do not want to cut off the RCA connections. The aftermarket radio needs to have both front and rear RCA audio outputs (also known as preamp outputs). Any radio that does not have these outputs will need a line output converter to create those RCA preamp outputs. Feel free to contact an advisor using 1-800-324-9695 to check the radio you want to install and see if it will need the converter in addition to this harness.

Q
Will this let me use the steering wheels stereo controls also?
jason  Sep 12, 2020
1 answer
A
The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
