Overview

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nothing worse than buying speakers that don't match the loom connectors, some places sell universal adapters that do nothing and it's time to get out the soldering iron. These connectors can only go on correctly to both the speaker and the loom connector, eliminating the dreaded reverse polarity problems associated with replacement speakers. The positive latch is as good as or better than OEM, no fear of anything coming loose. Thanks, guys!

Pros: they work.

Cons: none, they work.

Doesn't fit a '99 Ram w/Infinity System

Written by: BlueWaterSWO from Rapid City, SD on October 10, 2013

This wiring harness was provided free of charge with my stereo and speaker purchase, so the price was right. Problem was, the harness is in no way, shape, or form compatible with my 1999 Dodge Ram. Called tech support, they confirmed this was the only harness listed for my vehicle, so tech support e-mailed me a wiring diagram for my Ram with Infinity system, which proved to be a life saver. Cut the OEM harness, and spliced where I needed to to get the system working ... works like a champ now!!! Thanks Tech support!

Cons: Didn't fit my '99 Dodge Ram Quad Cab truck

OEM speaker wire adapter

Written by: Scotty from Bridgeport, CT on May 19, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fits the OEM speaker connector perfectly, the only thing I didn't like about them is they seem a little lose and the built in clip doesn't seem to clip very snugly, but one thing I can say for sure is they haven't come apart in a month and there is no shorting--so they are probably good enough--and you can't beat free with a pair of speakers!

Pros: Good fit on the OEM connectors--seems so!

Cons: Seems a little lose--scary! But they seem to have no problems--so far...

GM Wiring Harness

Written by: Jason from Durham, NC on October 1, 2012

1993 Chevrolet Suburban
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect fit between aftermarket speakers and my 93 suburban. It takes about 30 seconds to hook up the speaker wiring, and the clip only goes in one way, so there's no chance of wiring incorrectly. The factsheet and these adaptors are why you should order from Crutchfield.

Pros: Fast and prevents wiring backwards.

Cons: Takes a little force to attach to the speaker (used needlenose pliers), but this isn't really a con - you don't want them to come loose later.

Written by: Josh D from North DFW, TX on May 27, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speaker-side connectors are a little tight. This is great for longevity of the connection, but be sure to push them on slowly. Keep moderate pressure and rock side to side. If you push too hard, it will very quickly just bend the tab up. The GMC snap-on connector side worked like a champ.

Pros: Perfect adapter for standard tab to GM

Cons: Would be nice if it came with a little strip of velcro.

These made the install super easy. I had both speakers installed in about 30 min. I was pretty surprised. I didn't have these for the other speakers so I ended up having to splice on extra wire because the factory did not leave any extra wire. 1995 dodge ram

Pros: Very easy

Cons: Worry about quality loss, but it's not like all the other connections are perfect. So it doesn't really matter.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Made installation of my new 6" x 9" speakers easy. Connected directly to my factory speaker harness

Pros: Connected to my factory harness without an issue. One con

Cons: The negative terminal did not fit my new speakers(too small). I had to cut it off & replace both sides with larger terminals. I thought I wasn't pressing it on hard enough. But no way it was going on. Other than that, it would have gone real smooth & fast. The positive side terminal fit fine. It still made istallation of my new speakers easy.

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker wiring when replacing the factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. Each Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end that attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers, and a proprietary connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with large (positive) and small (negative) female quick-slide terminals. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In the rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your new speaker terminals, you will need to replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal or solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, and accessories are not included and sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations and availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.110" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Crutchfield speaker harnesses are included.
