These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so, then check here for a list of parts. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Crutchfield speaker harnesses are included.

I got Kicker DSC65 speakers, and Crutchfield threw these in. Otherwise, I'd have had to splice the speakers into my old speaker connectors, which wouldn't have been the end of the world, but these made for an easy 20 min from box to installed.

I got this wiring harness for my speaker install on my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. I was excited due to it making that install that much easier but was disgruntled when it did not fit the rear clip and had cut wires to get the speakers to work. The product is an awesome idea just not for a Tiburon.

Pros: Easy install.

Cons: Does not work on all cars.

Wiring harness was fine, with one exception. There is a plastic spring clip on the connection and the replacement harness didn't have a corresponding hole for the clip. I had to remove the clip and tape the connection together. It's fine as long as the tape holds.

Pros: Fit fine

Cons: Needs hole for the clip to be perfect.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The T shaped connector did not fit well into the car's female counter part as the original connector did. I had to force it with a pair of channel locks. I used it for the rear door panel speakers, but wasn't entirely satisfied with the fit. I didn't use the harnesses at all for the front door panel speakers. I simply disconnected the leads from the original speakers and reused them on the new speakers.

Pros: Harnesses made the installation easier.

Cons: I'm not sure the harnesses are going to stay connected due to the ill fitting.

Almost a 5 star perfect fit. The Montero Sport harness adapter for the speaker fit perfect with the speaker wiring harness. Had to mdify the ends of the wiring harness connector to the speaker (Kenwood KFC-1664S) 1 side positive that has a small connector and the negative connector has a big one.Had to reverse the connectors on the wire,

Pros: Fit the vehicle harness adapter, part of the Kenwood speakers order from Crutchfield.

Cons: Had to reverse the connectors on the harness to fit the speakers.

Written By letting, Cody, WY on Thursday, October 25, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Came free with speaker purchase but could not use. The harness does not match up for the front speakers of a 2000 Subaru Forester. Stock harness has a tab that goes through a slot and the free harness from Crutchfield accepts a tab that would go over the top instead. Would have been happy to use them if they matched up. No biggie, nothing a little splicing and soldering can't take care of.

Pros: Free

Cons: No match for 2000 Subaru Forester

Written By 2002 Sienna Owner, Fort Wayne, In on Monday, August 27, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installing new speakers into a 2002 Sienna mini van with stock JBL sound system. The connections to the speakers weren't as solid as I would have liked (could have been the speakers' problem). The connection to the existing harness was also a bit weak. The plastic housing of the stock wires did not match up well with the Crutchfiled harness. I probably should have added electrical tape to guard against these vibrating apart over time.

Pros: Functional and Free

Cons: Sub-par connections.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

this harness did not clip into the existing one on my 2003 Toyota Sienna (stock JBL system). I took the old harness and soldered the speaker wires to it and it worked fine. The speakers I got from Crutchfield are great; the installation went fine with help from the MasterSheet; just not with this harness.

Pros: none

Cons: harness clip did not fit. useless.

1999 Subaru Outback Wagon

Written By Firefyter-Emt, CT on Thursday, July 19, 2012

I got these free with my Kenwood speaker purchase so any issues are of little concern. I would like to point out two things though. On my Subie, the front speakers would of required modification to use. My harness plug had a tab that was to lock the speaker harness in place. The Crutchfield plud did not, and it would of worked loose. The good news is that my stock speakers had EXACTLY the same harness and it was a plug and play into the new Kenwood speakers. (Even the metal tab to hold the harness to the speaker case. Also to note, on my car... the front speakers were a dead perfect swap, hardware and all. However, the rears (on the wagon) were not even close to the same plug. On this, I was able to use the provided harness, but only to cut them in half and use some of my left over wire connectors. I had to cut the factory harness off and splice the spade ends onto the speaker. Although, this was made super easy with having just enough left over connectors that I bought from Crutchfield for the radio. (HIGHLY recommended)

Pros: I mean... come on, they are FREE! At least they TRY to make it as easy as pie!

Cons: I know that car makers themselves change plugs throughout the years on the same car, so knowing EVERY plug just will not happen. On my Subaru, the plugs "could of" worked if the factory ones were not the best choice, but the rears were not even close. (although, a sedan may of been the same) Although.... the Outback Wagon is by far the most common Subaru on the market.

Required modification to fit 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi

Written By Andrew K, Annapolis,MD on Thursday, June 28, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm giving this review three stars as I was able to make these fit and not have to cut the factory wiring harness on my Subaru. The connector on the end of this harness was missing a hole for the tab in my factory connector to fit into. I was able to take a dremel and an xacto knife and make it work but took quite a bit of work and does not disconnect easily.

Pros: -Free with my new speakers. -Didn't have to cut the end off my factory speaker harness

Cons: -Out of the box did not fit my Subaru without heavy modification. -Had to cut a whole in the plastic so the tab on the factory harness would fit.

Speaker Wiring Harnesses

Written By maddog39, Philadelphia, PA on Monday, May 21, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These look relatively well made and have decent gauge wire. However, the T-clips will not work with some factory Subaru wiring harnesses because the plastic locking clip that holds them in place on the factory harness is significantly thicker and thus it is impossible to plug this harness in unless you modify the factory plug. Unfortunately, I ended up cutting and reusing the factory speaker harness.

Rear Speakers 240SX

Written By Michael, San Jose on Friday, March 09, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The wiring harness has the correct terminal orientation and the overall shape, but there is a plastic clip on the side of the 240SX plug that protrudes out. You can't insert the entire plug into the harness, but deep enough to make a good connection point. I ended up using electrical tape to secure the two ends together so it doesn't come apart from vibrations.

Nice thing to have when you need it.

The Nissan connector is fine. The speaker fastons we both a hair undersized and had to be forced onto the speaker. Removing them for inspection you could see the opening deformed to fit. I broke off one speaker connection trying to force one on. After that I cut the fastons off and crimped on ones that fit. Where they found these I have no idea.

Written By Charles, California on Thursday, August 04, 2011

pure and simple.... they don't match up to the propriatery Nissan speaker connector.

You have to carve and whittle so they will actually plug in and even then the connection is very tentative.

Better than nothing, but I'll tell you what.... you would be better off just using the spade lugs, cut off the connector end and use butt connectors to join the factory wires.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

To my suprise they were quality connectors. Foreign made maybe but they still fit together with the factory connectors very well. You will need wire connectors if you do not plan to solder.

This type of product is what sets Crutchfield apart from the rest.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These adapters did their job with a couple of minor caveats. First the spade lugs did not fit
tightly on the speaker, some adjustment was needed to get a secure connection. The
second problem is the connector wire to the speakers was a little long, allowing the
connectors to rattle inside the door.

The connector to the existing car wires was a perfect fit and very secure.

Nice addition but didn't need..

These were a nice addition that I didn't expect. Unfortunately the factory
connectors were pretty rusted up so they weren't used. Would be great for
people doing installations in newer vehicle's though.

Nice but not compatable with a 2003 Mazda Protege5

Written By SamM, Richmond, VA on Friday, September 10, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nothing against the product as the insulated connectors are very nice, but contrary to Crutchfiled's instructions, this harness doesn't fit with the speaker connector in a 2003 Mazda Protege5. The shape and size are correct, but the bottom metal tab needs to be vertical instead of horizontal to fit with the car's female connector.

Since I was putting in a component system and had plenty of butt connectors and hookup wire I didn't contact Crutchfield to see if they carry the appropriate harness (plus it was free with the speakers), but in light of my previous experiences with their stellar service, I'm sure the correct part would be shipped to me as soon as I called.

These were great to have during my install, but they could stand to be 6 inches longer (so that the original clip location in my 93 Impreza Wagon could be used)

2006 Subaru WRX - clip doesn't fit!

Written By C.M., New Hampshire on Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The existing connector for the speakers in the front doors of my WRX fit the "T" shape of the connectors, but there is a locking tab that does not fit into these adapters. You need to cut these tabs off the car in order to make these fit (and prepare to tape everything up to keep it in place), or cut and solder.

It's not bad, but it's not perfect.

VW Speaker Harness

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The suppled speaker harnesses interfaced to my factory VW front dash connections perfectly, but the metal tabs had to be adjusted a slight bit before they would mate. Saved me from a solder job in a tough location.

I have had great results with all Crutchfield supplied harnesses in the past as well.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The connection to the existing wiring worked just fine on my Subaru Impreza. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the clip on the connector has nothing to clip to. However, the fit was snug and seemed unlikely to come apart.

Didnt fit

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They looked right, but the plastic connectors just didn't match up. Since they wouldn't go all the way on, they would not stay together. So instead of trying to butcher these to make them work, I just built my own with wire, solder and connectors. At least I won't have them falling apart and have to tear into it again.

Fits -- but not perfect

Written By Sean, Connecticut on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These harnesses were supposed to fit my car, and the electrical connections themselves did. In my car, however, the connector that these plug into has a plastic fastener to secure the connection. Unfortunately, these harnesses did not physically mate with what my Subaru had. So, I wrapped it all in electrical tape, just to make sure.

Still, it's better than cutting, splicing, and soldering.
