Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

These things are great. They save you a lot of time since you don't have to cut and splice you wiring harness.

These things are great. They save you a lot of time since you don't have to cut and splice you wiring harness.

Pros: Saves time, no need for tools and the ends are already crimped for different terminals to prevent accidentally reversing the polarity.

Cons: There is no dielectric compound on them to prevent corrosion. But you can get that at almost any parts store.

Purchased these to install new speakers into the front of my cooper. Installation was a breeze, attached terminal to speaker, attach plastic connector to factory connector and done. They fit perfect and give a good, solid connection.

Pros: Easy to install, solid connection

Cons: Can be difficult to install onto speaker terminals, due to a very snug fit; use caution when installing so you don't damage the speaker.

Dosesn't Fit '08 Prius with Nav

Written by: Ali984 from Los Angeles, CA on June 6, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I feel its a little unfair to rate the quality of these since I was unable to use them. I have 2008 Toyota Prius with the navigation system and JBL speakers. I was replacing the front door speakers as I felt the bass was too low and this adapter didn't fit or work in my system.

Pros: The idea of it is good, simple plug and good

Cons: Didn't fit my car or its system.

The harness "sort of" fits, but it is not a great match. I wish I'd read the reviews beforehand and seen what other reviewers did to make it fit better.

Pros: As long as it doesn't fall off, does its job.

Cons: Pretty sure it's going to fall off.

98 Eclipse install

Written by: Masonite from Puyallup, WA on July 26, 2010

1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

I have a 1998 Mistubishi Eclipse that needed new door speakers. These wires made installing the speakers easy. All that I had to do was remove the door panel, unscrew the original speakers, plug in these wires, and screw in the new speakers. These wires made it so simple because I didn't have to splice the wires. The speakers I had came with connectors, but I never had to use them. Complete installation took me 10 minutes to swap out the speakers. Without these adapters, I would have had to splice the wires and take more time for installation. These were simple and saved me time. Thanks Crutchfield!!

I have a '98 Tiburon and received these with a pair of door speakers I purchased at no extra charge. Though they weren't an exact match for the original plugs they worked just fine and were a very welcome addition to my speaker purchase. It made the install quicker and easier and I didn't feel the need to break out my soldering gun "just to make sure". They got the job done with no muss, no fuss.

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker wiring when replacing the factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. Each Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end that attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers, and a proprietary connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with large (positive) and small (negative) female quick-slide terminals. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In the rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your new speaker terminals, you will need to replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal or solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, and accessories are not included and sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations and availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.110" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Crutchfield speaker harnesses are included.
