These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

While these aren't necessary to complete an installation, they sure do make it a lot faster. Instead of having to splice into the existing wiring, this clips onto the new speaker and then connects directly to the OEM wiring harness. Worked perfectly, and included for free with my order, so it was a win all the way around.

Pros: easy to use speeds up installation retains factory wiring harness

Cons: none

I had to replace the door speakers in a 2008 Silverado that quit working. I ordered the speakers from Crutchfield and the harness, mounts, and instructions were included with the purchase. The harness worked perfectly! I unplugged the old speakers, put the wiring harness on those connections and then connected them to the speakers. It was that easy! Mounted the speakers and then reinstalled the door panel. No fuss!

Speaker Quick Connects Were Worthless

Written by: Brandon from Texas on July 22, 2014

2008 Chevrolet Silverado
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The female quick connects were WAY too small to fit on the Rockford Fosgate P1675, and those speakers have normal sized terminals. Honestly I've never seen a speaker with terminals small enough to accommodate the Metra 71-014C. Go with a different brand, or be prepared to buy new quick connects before you attempt installing these in your vehicle.

Pros: Factory end of the harness matched up with my 2008 Chevrolet Silverado perfectly.

Cons: Female quick connects will either have to be replaced or modified to work with some aftermarket speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Did the job it was made to do but about and inch to short on my 2002 Chevy Express Van installation. It reached the factory connector but was a bit to short to snap onto the plastic holder on the door. The OEM plastic holder is there to keep the connector from rattling. I used some silicone glue to hold it from moving.

Pros: Works fine, like the terminals being marked + and -

Cons: Had a little trouble get the connector on the speaker. Takes a bit of dexterity. I was afraid I would break them off. Just take it slow.

This is a really easy way to adapt new speakers in your GM vehicle. This making adding them painless (no soldering/crimping) and means you don't have to hack up your stock harness. I highly recommend these if you're going to install aftermarket speakers. I have no complaints about these, and the price is really reasonable.

Pros: Makes wiring to stock harness easy, reasonably priced.

GM Speaker Wiring Harness Adapter

Written by: Volfan from Tennessee on January 17, 2014

2007 Pontiac G6
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The product itself was fine but the fit was NOT 'exact' for my 2007 Pontiac G6. The harness adapter plugs, though the same shape, had the wrong key/notches to fit my factory connectors. So, I had to improvise and cut a notch in the 'new' harness adapter connectors to accept my factory wiring connectors. I wasn't real exited about having to do that but it did work fine. I would have much rather had the 'exact' fit connectors to make a neater and quicker install. I started to give them a 3 star rating but they did allow me to keep from cutting/splicing into my factory wiring. So, I give them a 4 star for giving me enough to work with and maintaining the integrity of the original factory harness connectors.

Pros: The shape was correct and gave me something to work with without having to cut/splice my factory wiring.

Cons: The keys/notches on the harness adapter plugs didn't match my original factory plugs. So, they wouldn't plug right in without modifying them and making them work.

Amazingly simple!
