These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Wires Too Short

Written by: CMB from Portland, ME on February 24, 2012

2011 Subaru Impreza WRX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These wires are too short for speakers that don't have their terminals next to each other. On the Kicker DS60, the terminals are on opposite sides of the speaker. Crutchfield knows this but doesn't want to fix it. Just offer a credit.

Pros: Plug and Play

Cons: short wires

2006 Honda Accord Speaker Harness

Written by: DK from Charleston, SC on February 11, 2012

2009 Toyota Corolla
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Worked as intended, but the leads are a little on the short side. I had to strip a section of wire to make them long enough for the connection to the speakers and the location of the factory plugs above the rear deck in the Honda.

Pros: Factory fit on the plug.

Cons: Speaker lead was too short to reach the speakers while plugged in to the factory plug. Need the leads to be about 6 inches longer.

Easy.

2002 Toyota Camry
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ordered a set of Rockford Fosgate Punch P1S652 6.5" speakers for my Camry, and the supplied wire harnesses were too small to fit over the terminals on the speakers. A quick trip to the auto parrts store to pick up some larger gauge terminals and I was in business. At least the harnesses connected to the factory connectors perfectly.

Seems like a HUGE oversight by Crutchfield's usually dependable research department.

Wiring Harness Not Useful for Toyota

Written by: Mack from Portsmouth, VA on May 13, 2011

1997 Toyota Corolla
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These plug in leads were provided with my new Polk Audio Dxi 400 speakers. I
bought them for the front doors of a 1997 Corolla. The speakers drop right in
to the Toyota mounting bracket, but to use these supplied plugs I would have had
to figure out how to remove the factory plug from its housing on the speaker
mounting bracket. Then these plugs would have been dangling loose possibly
interfering with reassembly of the door panel. I elected to just remove the
factory leads from the original speakers and solder them to the new speakers.
This worked well and made for a neat installation. If you don't want to do any
soldering than these plugs are necessary, otherwise you're probably better off
not using them.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I don't know if Crutchfield did try to install on this Toyota Corolla or not, but....it did not work. If crutchfield did in fact open the rear deck (which is very inconvenient and complicated to take out the rear deck) the tech should know that the length of this speaker hardness is ....TOO SHORT by at least 5 inches. I was extremely upset when comes to this part. Since the wire is too short, if I cut the wire to make it longer, then the reason to buy this speaker wire makes no sense anymore. I tried to cut the scotch tapes that hold those wires into the rear deck to gain some more length, finally it barely works, but I was extremely UPSET.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased a Kenwood KFC-P708 6-1/2"/6-3/4" Component System for my 2005 Tacoma
Double Cab 4x4. As in the past, Crutchfield delivered a quality product in a timely manner
and carefully packaged. I was however slightly disappointed upon discovering the Taco
wiring harness did not include connections for the factory cross-overs. A simple call may
have resolved this issue but since I had somebody installing a whole system, I let them
figure it out. BTW, these Kenwood speakers blow the factory speakers away! Should've done
this a long time ago!

What's really worth noting is the installation instructions provided by Crutchfield. The

scratched interior parts from doing the wrong thing on disassembly.

I highly recommend Crutchfield.

2007 Toyota RAV4
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed 2 pair of speakers into a 2007 RAV4. The back-door speakers worked great with this harness. The harness did technically fit in the front door speakers; however, I was replacing both the factory door speaker and tweeter. Replacing the tweeter required splicing of wires. They were color coded so it wasn't difficult, just surprising. Again, technically, it worked. However, be warned that if you replace the tweeter you'll need to cut and splice wires.

Not all that

Written by: chris from germantown, wi on April 2, 2009

This harness is nice of course. But in my case.....2005 highlander with the cheapy non JBL 6 speaker system the primary speaker wires in the front door go to the tweeter first. You get nothing if you unplug the tweeter and plan on replacing it with a different one like in my Alpine component speakers.

The tweeter connector requires jumpers from pin 1-3 and 2-4 to bypass the connection on the tweeter jumper pcb/mount. I used paper clips cut in half and bent just right with some electrical tape. Still cost nothing but had to ohm it out to figure it out.

There is no mention of this in the instuctions. Maybe this will help someone.

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).
