Metra 71-039C adapters

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings. Two adapters are included for one pair of speakers.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield-supplied harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if these adapters are compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 60 days.

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a MUST if you want a clean install of your dash speakers. It took me awhile to find the right part number and its listed for a 1993 626 Mazda but it fits perfect, No cutting factory wires and the lead is plenty long. Note: When i first tried to connect it would not fit all the way so when I looked inside I noticed that the contacts were not centered. I just took a small flat head screwdriver and tweaked them up alittle and no problem....

Pros: Nice fit and no cutting factory wires...

Cons: None

2002 Mazda Protege
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The wiring adapters arrived promptly. However, they didn't fit perfectly as the plastic "clip" on the original factory wiring got in the way of a snug fit with the interconnecting wires. I had to pretty much bend it out of the way to make everything fit snugly. I was surprised the wiring adapters didn't take the factory clip into account. Aside from that, I would rate 5 starts. So far the connection hasn't separated.

Pros: Prompt delivery.

Cons: Didn't seem to be designed for the factory wiring connection clip. Had to pry the clip away to allow things to connect.

I recently purchased some kicker speakers for my 2012 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, and Crutchfield included these as park of the package. I did not use the female clips to connect to the speaker's tabs. Ordered these adapters for the dash speakers on a 2013 Chrysler 300 . I found that these also fit the rear door 3.5" speakers as well ( there was no application listed for the rear door speakers on this vehicle). The connectors mated up perfectly with the factory harness and polarity was correct ( white lead is the wider "+" terminal on the speaker). I chose to solder mine on to the speakers but the supplied crimped on push type connectors seemed to be high quality.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

these cables work great for my 2012 dodge ram 1500. It was as simple as just plug it in, and go. these cables made the job of replacing my 3 1\2 speakers on my dash simple and clean. it took 15 mins to replace both of them.

Pros: price, adapter

Cons: this field.

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were a perfect fit for the dash speaker harness in my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Totally plug and play both at the vehicle harness and the new speakers. Both adapters were labeled as "Left Front," which gave me a chuckle but had no effect on the installation or quality. Both the plug and the spade terminals were solidly connected to the wiring and should last for years to come.

The only improvement I'd make is to offer a version of these with spade connectors pre-installed on the positive lead. After popping in my new speakers, I definitely want to add bass blockers, and it would be a dream if I could go plug and play for those too.

Pros: Perfect fit, quality assembly, good wire gauge

Wrong Harness for Jeep Grand Cherokee

Written by: Bill from Arvada, CO on January 26, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield claims that this harness fits Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge vehicles for small (3.5 inch) dash speakers. They do not fit!!! I should have been more suspicious considering it is listed as a Mazda item.

1998 Mazda Protege

These didn't fit for plugging in. We also had to splice the ends of the adapters to the existing wires instead of plug them in. There is a plastic ridge on the base of the female plug which would not allow the flat base of the male plug to slide in.

2007 Dodge Ram 3500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Apparently these Mazda harnesses are suppose to work as a wiring adapter for the dash mounted 3 1/2" speakers in a 2006 Dodge Ram Sport 1500 4-door. Uuummm...they don't. I had to butt splice the ends of the adapters to the existing wires instead of plug them in. There is a plastic ridge on the base of the female plug which would not allow the flat base of the male plug to slide in.

In my application it gets a worst rating. In whatever application these fit, I am sure they work wonderfully as did the adapters for my door speakers. Plug and play!! Not these sadly.

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Crutchfield speaker harnesses are included.
