Fit old harness perfectly.
The connector was meant for VW. While it does not fit Audi, the pin however does fit perfectly. Extraction of the pin allow me to plug it in the original connector & avoid splicing or cutting the original harness.
Pros: Pin fits perfectly
Cons: Connector does not work & have to be cut
Easy to use, fit was as promised.
Nicely adapts VW wiring to the Jensen speakers I also installed. However, not plug and play as you will lose the functionality of the stock tweeters in all 4 doors. VW had a jumper installed in the factory speakers allowing the tweeters to parallel off the main speakers, but these adapters do not have this feature. I had to splice/solder in my own connections and in the end it would have been easier to do this at the time of crimping on the proper female connectors than trying to go back and redoing this job with these adapters. If your tweeters are blown then you are fine, but mine are still working well and I really noticed their absence.
Pros: Plug and play if you don't want your factory tweeters to function.
Cons: See above.
These harnesses worked perfectly on the front speakers of my Passat. The rear, not so much. These harnesses only have two wires, whereas the rear factory have 4. The other 2 wires run to the tweeter that is located in the door. By using the harness in the rear, you will loose the tweeters unless you modifier the harness. The only other way is cut the wires and splice. I'm not a fan of that and I'm sure most others aren't either.
Pros: Easy connection
Cons: Not proper harness for rear speakers, will loose door mounted tweeters.
Perfect, just what I needed to complete project. Should of came here prior to other site who gave me wrong parts.
Pros: Easy transaction, great price.
These are convenient if they fit. The connectors did not fit my 2014 VW passat premium without forcing the connector on and using a razor knife to cut out where the ridges did not fit this connector. After this modification, it fit perfectly and securely so these are still a viable option. If you have this 4 pin connector, chances are that you have a factory dual voice coil door speaker with 2 separate + and - channels. These connectors only use one of these channels which means the replacement speakers will only have half the power coming from one channel and not 2(with factory amp). If I knew for sure i could bridge the 2 factory amp channels then there would not be any problems. My replacement speakers did not sound as good as the factory due to the lower power they were receiving. I hope this made sense and helps you plan your install better than i did.
Pros: Good connector. May require modification on newer vehicles.
Cons: This is a 4 pin connector with 2pin slots not filled and only 2 wires out to the door speaker. If they door speaker originally had 4 wires going to hit, chances are you are now sending half of the power to any replacement single voice coil door speaker. upgrading the factory amp would fix this.
Decided I had enough soldering and wire cutting in my last car so I decided to get these adapters so I could just plug and play some new speakers. The part that clips into the factory plug does fit well which is great, however, the two quick slide connectors are worthless as they practically fall off the speakers. The problem is especially prominent in winter when the metal contracts and the already loose connection became problematic. To give a specific example; the vibration from simply opening my window while going through a drive-through was enough to cause the speakers to cut out completely. After experiencing the speakers cutting out I decided enough was enough and took a look. After gaining access to the speakers in the door, I found that the slightest tap on the speaker wire caused sound to cut out. I clipped off the quick-slide ends and soldered on the much more tightly fitting ones that came with the (Polk) speakers and I was back in business. After swapping out the quick-slide ends for ones with a better connection, I actually believe that the sound quality, specifically the bass response, has noticeably improved; it's not something I was even listening for but noticed almost immediately.
Pros: Connects well to the factory connector and allows you to re-install factory speakers if you ever wanted to; makes the install process slightly easier.
Cons: quick-slide ends were worthless and did not have a tight fit to the speakers. New speakers will come with their own connectors that will provide a much better connection and potentially better sound.... use those.
I was concerned after reading a review saying this part didn't fit for somebody else with the same year, make, and model but i took a chance ordered them anyways and they fit perfectly! no issues at all! The chat support is great as well.
Pros: Does exactly what they're suppose to
Fit perfectly for replacement speakers
Pros: Seamless fit for replacement speaker
Perfect fit for my application. 2001 VW Jetta with monsoon system. Plug and play is very convenient.
Pros: No modification/splicing necessary
Cons: I did have to squeeze the female blade connectors down a bit to get a tight fit on the speaker terminals.
I loved how easy this harness was to use. All you have to do is plug the negative wire into the negative terminal and the positive into the positive terminal. It makes the job so much smoother and was a perfect fit for my speaker connector. Rather than trying to spend the time manually wiring your speaker wires together, go ahead and spend a few extra dollars on these and make the process that much easier.
Pros: Easy to use, self-explanatory, and perfect length.
This worked really nice. For the speaker tight and clipped on with no issues!
Pros: Easy install, good connection.
worked perfect with 2010 vw jetta
Good job with this
Pros: easy to use
Cons: didnt know about these when I done the front speakers. But that's on me.
plug and play - no splicing and a clean instalation
Pros: easy install
I have changed out multiple speakers and I always go with Crutchfield harnesses. These saved hours and significant electrical tape!
Pros: Arrived quickly, great price.
Would have been great, but it is the wrong part for my VW Passat. Had to go ahead and wire the speakers in, a little unhappy about having to cut the factory part off, but no huge thing.
It was my first time changing speakers ever. These were a direct plug and play for my 2003 VW Jetta.
Pros: *Perfect fit *made install of speakers a million times faster than I thought *quality
Cons: *doesn't include a harness for the OEM tweeters
Fit perfectly on 2010 VW Passat Komfort
Pros: Nothing but perfect!
They work great and there super easy to install, great product
Pros: They work great
They fit great and allowed me to plug and play with my new speakers.
Pros: Didn't have to cut into the factory speaker harness.
Cons: Doesn't have terminals for the stock tweeters in my VW Passat.
Terrific timesaver - no need to splice or cut and solder wiring.
Pros: Quick and easy
Installed right into factory plug and is color coded so there is no guessing when putting the leads into aftermarket speakers. installed in 2011 mk6 VW jetta TDI
Pros: plugs right in and just works
This wiring adapter fit perfectly with the stock wire and clip from my 2011 VW Jetta. No issues what so ever.
Pros: Plugs right into factory clip No customizing needed
Wonderful product, however they were not plug and play on the speaker end, they plugged into my car fine but the ends needed to be trimmed and wraped around the speaker, made installation a breeze
Pros: Plugged into 2000 vw beetle, sound quality
Cons: the ends that plugged into the speakers needed modd, no biggie though
Not a bad product, fit car good just the side to connect to speaker did not fit had to put new connectors on them.
Pros: Fit the car connectors good
Cons: Did not fit speakers correctly
These fit into the stock connectors as they should but I had to trim the ends for connection to my new speakers. Made the install easier to go back to the factory setup if needed.
Great fit on the car side, but the small speaker connector is hopelessly loose... I "crimped" it down with pliers, and it was OK
Terminal fit perfectly to OEM harness, but only 1 of the speaker terminals fit the speaker terminals; needed to cut the other off & replace it with a terminal that came with the speakers
Pros: Great product
Cons: No instructions about the terminal that didn't fit
Worked perfectly for adapting 2006 Jetta Tdi rear speaker install
Excellent, made doing it yourself, easy.
Pros: Qick to ship, easy to use.
Works as expected - wire harness, with a little glitch, the clips on both don't fit snugly to the speaker (smaller of the two clips). Was creative and made it work.
Pros: Mostly fit
Cons: Little looseness that had to be addressed on the smaller of the two clips.
What can I say. Remove from package, attach the connectors (which are size matched), and plug into vehicle harness. I had to slightly squeeze to ensure a tight fit.
Pros: 30 sec install. No soldering Size matched
These saved my life. Couldn't have done the job without these.
Cons: None so Far.
the connections to the factory connectors are good and lock in tight, but the spade connectors are too weak and will pop off the speakers , no locking pin - had to cut the spade connectors off and solder the wires direct to the speaker
Pros: factory connectors are good
Cons: spade connectors are too weak
Pros: Made it easy to install new speakers
Perfect fit for replacing dead OEM rear-door speakers in my 04 Jetta.
You will definitely need this if you are upgrading all four door speakers in a 2009-2011 VW Tiguan (not sure if it works for other VW models), and don't want to splice factory wires.
Pros: Plug-n-play, prevents cutting factory wiring.
I ordered this product for two different vehicles and each time the wiring harnesses have made for a perfect installation. I am very pleased and have come to expect such quality and reliability from Crutchfield over the years.
Pros: Perfect fit, No Muss No Fuss.
Fit perfectly, fast service, and an excellent price.
Pros: Fast, easy, good fit, excellent price, wide selection.
Used these for an install of new door speakers in my 2011 Jetta. These made the install a breeze!!! The only issue was the ends needed to be crimped with needle nose pliers to get a tight fit on the speakers but not much of an issue!
Pros: Quick and easy for install
Cons: Need to crimp the ends to fit the speakers.
Perfect match, you don't have to do any improvisations.
This harness made installation much easier as I did not have to splice it into the wiring. I did still have to splice the speaker wires themselves together from four to two. The only improvement I can think of would be to make the harness do that installation will be completely plug and play.
Pros: Simple plug and play install on the speaker end.
Cons: Still had to splice speaker wires on the car side to make it work.
These adapters were a perfect fit. Made wiring the speakers very simple. No soldering required. Plug n Play.
Pros: Easy, Well marked, good instructions
Cons: Almost too long.
Its a good idea, just needs a tweak and it would be great. The negative (smaller) terminal on both the connectors they gave were too large. Putting them onto the speaker they would fall right off under their own weight. Had to crimp them down with a large pliers while being careful not to mess up the plastic sleeve. This ineviteably made them a bit too tight, and required playing back and forth a minute to get it right. Not the worst thing in in the world, and saved the OEM connector. I cant help but thinking it would just be less time to crimp on a new connector then use these though.
Pros: keeps oem connector
Cons: doesnt fit negative terminal and needs manual adjustment to work.
perfect !!! just what I needed.
These adapters may work for some installations, but for the VW component system, they do NOT power the satellite tweeter. VW uses the 2 of the 4 conductors in the terminal for the speaker input and the other two to power the tap to the tweeter. I had to jumper the spare pins in the adapter to get the tweeters to work.
Pros: Free - you need the VW connector to get the component woofer to work.
Cons: Does not power the tweeter on a VW - need to splice or jumper the unused terminals.
Wrong harness for the rear speakers. Harness was correct for front speakers
Pros: Made install seamelss
Cons: Wrong harness, but Crutchfield didnt have my exact car, so not really their fault.
Worked well, except the connectors that attach to the speakers are loose.... Not a big deal...just crimped them a bit with pliers....as others have mentioned.
Pros: adapted to existing vw wiring
Cons: connectors need crimping
These came free with my purchase of some Alpine speakers. I definitely liked not having to cut my factory harness, but the connector terminal for the negative speaker lead was so loose on all 4 of these I used that I had to crimp it a little with pliers to get it to stay snugly. The positive plug was fine, so I am not sure why the other one was so loose. Fix the problem and these will be perfect.
Pros: Genuine VW plug/harness used, just enough length to reach from plug to speaker, plug & play (no wire swapping).
Cons: Negative terminal plug cheap and loose. Plastic covers popped off the speaker-end terminals sometimes making them a bit difficult to attach sometimes.
Pros: Very handy for connect with existing wiring
Pros: Came free!
They worked exactly as they were supposed to...and being included for FREE with the speaker purchase is always a nice thing. Connected directly to OEM speaker harness.
Pros: Easy Install, saved time and money over traditional install FREE is as great of a price as you can ask for!
I have never bothered with this sort of stuff, I always bust out the soldering iron. I have to say its worth it to have it. cut the job time in half or more. Great product!
Pros: Works as advertised. Just plug it in.
This connector has made the installation process a breeze.
Perfect fit for my MTX speakers to 98 Beetle
Pros: Perfect fit
Work exactly as advertised. Due to the construction of my Crescendo midbass drivers I am not able to use the spade connectors, but that is only a matter of cutting and stripping the ends. The fit with the factory harness is perfect.
Pros: Perfect fit to factory harness, likely a perfect fit to 99%+ of the speakers on the market.
Factory speakers use a coil and a capacitor as a cross over to the tweeters. I wanted to keep this, and ended up cutting the connector, coil, and cap out of the old speakers, I then wired to the ground and the 3rd wire as these adapters for the new speakers. Worked like a charm, not sure why they dont just make an adapter with a cap and a coil as a built in cross over.
Cons: not so usefull as a direct plug in part, OK for parts.
Without these adapters it would have taken much longer, Crutchfield makes the install a snap
Pros: perfect fit
It is nice to not have to ruin factory connectors. This does just that! Plenty of length to make appropriate connections.
Pros: Plug and play
Cons: May have to use pliers on the negative connector IIRC so it would fit tight on the speaker terminal.
If you're replacing your factory speakers, this equipment will be very helpful when you're making your installation, highly recommended. Thank you.
worked great. Note: the lugs had be tighted a bit with needle nose pliers to attach tightly to my speakers, but that is not an issue, and happens often with sort of work.
Pros: saved me lots of time, and the adapter works as designed
Cons: tightening the lugs to hold tightly to the speaker- Hardly a 'con', by my experience.
Very easy to use for replacing stock speakers in the 2003 Jetta with Monsoon system. Simple plug & play.
Pros: Easy to use. Easy to install.
Made the job extra easy.
Incomplete and unusable. The harness will only work if you are installing a full range (coaxial, etc) speaker. It only has 2 wires feeding the speaker; the OE design 4 wires with the second 2 wires going to the tweeters. I had to cut off the factory plug and run those 2 outputs to an aftermarket crossover, then run new sire to the speaker and a second wire going to the tweeter high in the door. Unless you are just installing coaxial speakers, dbon't bother buying this harness.
Pros: Useless purchase for the Passat, although it might fit other VWs if you just want to drive a single speaker in the door
Cons: Consider your installtion carefully, but for my application It is unusable
Easily connects to factory fitting but the narrow (-?) fitting was loose on the speaker prongs of the Pioneers that I bought (TS-G1644R & TS-G1643R). I took pliers and squeezed fitting a little before slipping onto prong and it now holds tight. Easy fix.
Pros: Attaches to factory hardware easily
Cons: May need to tighten narrow end that connects to speaker
These couldn't have worked more perfectly, awsome!
This cable did indeed fit the factory connector in my 2001 Beetle but it would be really nice to have supplied some sticky-back foam to wrap the connector in to keep it from rattling against the door and panel. The original speaker has the connector built into the spacer and there is no extra slack in the wiring harness. I modified the new spacers and epoxied the new harness connectors to them to resemble the original configuration.
Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.
Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.
Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.
Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).
Wire Code Chart: Two identical Crutchfield speaker harnesses are included.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: This speaker harness is not "made" by Crutchfield, it is made by Metra. They no longer actually offer the part however, and don't have a current item/model number for the part. It looks like we have them, simply because we had a large stock and have not sold out of them over time. There's a good chance that we may be one of the only solutions for getting their hands on this piece. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Sep 10, 2014 ] Staff
