These harnesses will allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in the speaker openings for your vehicle.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These fit factory type speakers but speakers such as rockford fosgate punch 1683 it will not fit the negative/ground and you need to buy the female leads and snip this one off. I did order them and unfortunately Crutchfield failed to send!! I had to snip and wire it to speaker to get it going but that is not right and either needs solder or the clip. You can get the 10 pack of female clips from Crutchfield for cheap and trust me order it! All bad reviews online are same problem. The plug and play makes it a snap but these won't fit good speakers with bigger negative terminals so you must buy the female clips.

Pros: Connection to Ford Factory assembly takes 3 seconds, just snap it on

Cons: Terminal is too small as I mentioned on the negative side.

Just what the doctor ordered! No muss, no fuss and the price is definitely right! I've seen complaints that the wires are revered for some applications, that's a much easier fix that most seem to realize, there's no need to rewire, just need a small tool to release the internal connectors on the plug end (opposite from the spade connector/speaker end), once free you can swap their position and you're ready to install.

Pros: Makes an easy job easier

Cons: None

Still had to cut this adapter to fit on a terminal that would fit the negative post of my Fosgate speaker, so I could have cut lead to Ford proprietary connector and done two terminal installs instead. Not the time saver I expected.

Pros: Has Ford OEM female connector side.

Cons: Still have to install a connector or two to match terminal posts on your speakers.

2008 Ford F-150
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product matches up very well to my '08 F150 and made installing the new speakers a breeze. I did run into one issue, and am not sure if it was user induced [me], the adaptor or the factory harness. On one of the speakers, after installing this plug, removing and reinstalling [fitting baffles and other stuff] one of the metal 'prongs' got shoved backward, out of the plastic base. I may have been holding the adaptor at an angle when I forced it. I don't know.

It was a simple fix- I plugged the plastic base into place and the used a small flathead screwdriver to push the wire 'pin' forward, back into the base until it bottomed out on the factory wiring harness: problem solved! I taped it off to keep it from wandering out at a later date.

I would give the set a 4.6 if I could, but am only able to pick 4 or 5. Due to my one weird issue, it had to be a 4. Full disclosure: it installed/removed/installed these plugs in all 4 doors and I ran into this problem only once, in one of the 4 plastic plugs. So- NOT the normal experience.

Pros: Matches factory loom exactly as required. Makes life easy. Allows return to factory speakers, if I ever give up my truck.

Cons: May run into a small problem with plugs being pushed out back of adaptor plastic plug, but is an easy fix.

Replaced all my speakers in 2014 mustang gt premium . Snapped right in place. This made things so much easier . Before I found this product I was contemplating not changing my speakers out and keeping the subpar shaker500 speakers because I didn't want to splice my wires . And these are the correct polarity also . Now my stereo sounds amazing . The tech I talked to was very nice , courteous and very helpful. Shipping was fast . It was here the exact day they said it was going to be here . 1000 times satisfied customer . Crutchfield has all my business from now on .

Pros: 1. These are the correct polarity unlike the ones on other websites . 2. Plug and play adaptors so no messy wire splicing . 3. Very fair price . 4. Easy to use 5. Packaging was great (no huge box you would normally get from other companies )

Cons: No cons at all .

Great product, easy to use, and you don't have to cut into your factory wiring harness! However, Two of the four of these, that I received had one of the wires, 'drop out' of the plug. I had to push each wire back in, and use electrical tape, to hold the wires in place. I have used these, numerous times, this was the first time I had any issue

Pros: Nice to not have to cut into my factory wiring harness.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cable works fine, much easier than soldering, my only complaint is the wires pop out of the plastic housing really easily. I called Crutchfield about it, and they recommended using hot glue to fix it which makes sense to me. Considering they gave this to me for free I really can't complain too much, but just keep the glue idea in mind. I also had to tape these against the inside of the door of my Ford Escape to prevent the window from rubbing, since this adds length to the speaker wires.

Pros: It works, it is free with speaker purchase

Written by: Twisted from Brazil, IN on March 9, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These little harness adapters helped to make the install of any speaker a breeze. If your vehicle has unique speaker connectors, like in most Fords, this adapter harness will save you some time hooking up your new speakers and also makes it a lot cleaner plug-n-play install.

Pros: Plug-N-Play, fits factory connectors for an easier installation.

Cons: Out of 4 of these adapter harnesses that I used on an install recently, one of two pins on one of the connectors pushed out and would not stay locked into the connector. I feel this may have been a fluke, but thought I needed to mention it.

The pins pushed out easily with these connectors!! You really have to hold the wires tight behind the connector when plugging them in. I wasn't happy with the quality. Now I'm very unhappy. Might right rear speaker isn't working. (Probably came loose) Was going to get a new set before pulling the door apart again. But.... for the price I'd have to pay, No way! I guess I will just solder the wires like an above post mentioned. That's what I used to do before I got the "free and easy connectors"

Cons: Not fast. When you have to do the job twice!!

Used these to install Rockford Fosgate Punch speakers in 2010 Mercury Mariner. As noted in the description, one of the connectors on each was did not fit the spade connector on the speaker. However, Crutchfield provided a collection of spade and slip connectors to accommodate this. You just have to strip the appropriate wire and clamp on the right-sized connector. After that, the harness fit the Mariner as needed.

Pros: No need to strip off the OEM harness and clamp on slip connectors for the speaker spades. That could be an aggravating task.

Cons: Slip connectors not perfect fit for Rockford Fosgate Punch spade connectors.

While you need to use the speaker wiring harness to adapt to your existing speakers, the snap in connector didn't line up correctly with the factory connector. Slight modifications and a little elbow grease got them together

Pros: Good product if it works.

Cons: Maybe a bad mold on the connector but it works fine.

Wire Slides Out

Written by: John from Arizona on July 9, 2014

I tried plugging the first one into the factory harness and 1 lead pushed right out of the plug as others also said. I was able to slide it back in and wrapped electrical tape around the connector. I was then able to install with no further issue. I wrapped the second one with tape before trying to install and this one was fine. Others indicated that the polarity of the wires may be reversed on these. I didn't read that until done with the install. The speakers sound good overall, so the polarity may be correct.

Pros: Able to install without any wire splicing.

Cons: Wires come out of the plug far too easy. There are quite a few complaints on this issue that are quite old and Crutchfield continues to offer them..This was my first purchase from Crutchfield and not the way to inspire confidence.

Crutchfield response on July 15, 2014 These harnesses are the standard choice for installing new speakers in many Ford vehicles, and most of the time they offer solid connections and easy installation for your new speakers. As with any wiring job, it's a good idea to give each wire a tug to make sure the connection is strong. As others have suggested, a little tape (or for the purist, solder) will take care of any lose connection.

Back in the day, I did car stereo installation part-time for a big box store. Wish we had these little gems back then! What an easy adaptation to the OE wiring at the speaker! Back then, we'd either tap into the OE wiring and leave the OE speaker plug dangling around or wire tied in the speaker pod, or we'd flat out cut the wires and solder/tape the aftermarket bayonet connector wiring directly. Great idea to develop these.

Pros: Keeps your OE wiring pristine. No cutting, no tapping into existing wiring.

Cons: Crutchfield website wasn't clear on ordering these, I ended up ordering an extra pair by accident.

The only complaint I had was that one out of the four connectors wasn't made correctly, so when I plugged it in to my factory harness, one of the wires pushed out of the connector. I didn't want to complain to Crutchfield because it was free anyway, so I superglued the wire back in, and it has been fine for three months now. Other than that, 3 out of the 4 were great.

Pros: Free with purchase, easy installation.

Cons: One out of the four I received came apart.

Very Nice!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield made the install a breeze as all the parts needed came with the order as a free add on. These fit wicked tight to the speaker jack and just clip into the factory connectors making for a tight and super easy swap.

Pros: Free!, and they work mint.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Product is painless to use and a time saver. If you're looking to upgrade your sound without cutting factory speaker wire harness, this product is for you!

Pros: Easy to use. Inexpensive and makes installs faster.

Cons: Make sure your window doesn't hit the wires when you roll it down. Mine did and I zip tied them out of the way. Easy fix.
