Metra Speaker Harness: Metra speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Metra speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Metra speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Metra speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Will this fit a 2017 Chevy Malibu premier? Your site said they will fit, but on the manufacture website they say they will not fit.

Thanks for your question. I do show this is the correct harness for all levels of the 2017 Chevy Malibu. This harness fits the front and rear door locations, as well as the rear deck locations if you have the Bose package. Hope this helps.

The previous owner removed the plug on my car. Can I simply cut off the plug on this part and heat shrink the appropriate wires together or is there some kind of adapter in the plug? I'm not super familiar with sound systems.

Hello-you should be able to wire it up no problem. The adapter just makes the wires go together, no electronics inside

These plugs are for the convenience of plug & play with factory wiring. If someone already cut off the factory plugs these are not needed you can simply add on some extra wire and heat shrink if needed. Just be mindful of the + & - wires for optimal sound quality. Good luck ??

Does this fit a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 4X4 Double Cab w/out Bose Stereo System? According to the manufacturers website they supposedly fit but I would just like to see if anyone can confirm it. Thanks.

Which wire is positive and which is negative. Black: positive/negative, White: Positive/negative?

Normally white is positive and black is negative. Alternatively, you should be able to look at the speaker posts. One (I think the smaller one) should be labeled as negative and the other as negative, then you know for sure what polarity the matching wire must be.

Most 12-24v wiring is black is negative and red is positive. 120v wiring black is positive or hot and white is neutral.

On the speaker, the spade tabs are two different sizes. Just connect corresponding size tabs to the same size spades on the speakers. The manufactures have made very easy to replace the speakers, and this wiring harness is pretty fool proof, thanks to Cruchfield. Please check the speakers for + or - . Remember if the speakers are connect backwards, they will out of phase, but they will still work. I hope this helps.
