These brackets allow you to install select 5-1/4" or 6-1/2" speakers in your factory speaker openings.

Important Note: Some 6-1/2" speakers use a larger frame and require a larger cutout. We call these 6-3/4" speakers, and they won't fit in this bracket. This bracket will only work with speakers that require a cutout diameter of 5-1/8" or less.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It could have been better if the plastic is a little bit firmer, it's a bit soft, I screwed it to all four corners and still shaking.

Pros: came free

Cons: very soft plastic material

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These will not fit he 4runner rear speaker locations. Even with exstensive modification they are a mess. Cheaply made and too thin for any real speaker support and after speaking with Crutchfield support no other options available. I have been installing my own stereo equipment for 20 years and thankfully have never run in to anything of this poor quality. Gave them one star as there is no lower option.

not recommended- flimsy

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

To use these brackets in my 95 4Runner, the 2 factory speaker boxes (1 each behind each rear side panel) had to be removed, which was no small feat. The factory box has little clearance around it, so removing it required lots of brute force. Though the bracket does bolt up using the factory holes (note the 2 stars I gave it), the bracket is flimsy, with the 6 3/4 Boston speakers I bolted in feeling as though they were bolted to a thick sheet of paper, flexing back and forth. Also, removing the factory box and the factory 2 ohm speaker and replacing with a 4 ohm 6 3/4 speaker on this bracket left me with less sound (overall quality, bass, and volume) than the ancient factory speakers. A 2 ohm 6 3/4 speaker may have improved this situation somewhat, but I recommend not using these brackets. Instead, replace the factory 4 inch speaker with a quality 2 ohm 4 inch speaker. It bolts right into the factory box, involves less work and sounds much better than the 6 3/4 speakers using this bracket. Crutchfield's service was top notch, as usual, and they accepted the returns with no problem.
