Overview: As of 11/13/14, the 82-8150 is compatible with select 2012-2014 Toyota models. The bracket is designed to allow easy replacement of the factory speakers with select aftermarket 6½ and 6¾ speakers. (Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.)

6¾ Speakers: For a 6¾ speaker to fit in the opening of this bracket, the tabs around the inner speaker opening will need to be removed. They are scored along the bottom for easy removal, but still may require pliers and a file.

6½ Speakers: 6½ speakers with the 3-hole bolt pattern or the symmetrical 4-hole bolt pattern can be mounted using the tabs around the inner speaker opening of this bracket.

5¼ Speakers: While a 5¼ speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of a typical 5¼ is approximately ½" smaller than the opening in the bracket, making a 6½ or 6¾ a better fit. When using a 5¼, a speaker baffle must also be used to seal the rear of the speaker.

Will this fit in place of a 6x9 speaker? Or is it too small?

This is an adapter. The large side mounts to the car and the round speaker mounts to this adapter.

What is the hole spacing of the bracket itself, will it match the holes on the front door and rear speakers of my 2001 Toyota Camry 16x9 factory speakers?

Sorry, no. The Metra 82-8150 bracket is compatible with select 2012-2014 Toyota models. We recommend the Scosche SAC656 adapter for installing 6.5" or 5.25" in the front doors of the 2001 Camry: www.crutchfield.com/p_142SAC656/item.html

I bought these for a 2015 Camry, which was several generations later, so my answer may or may not help. I have not replaced my rear deck speakers, so I am unsure. But I know I had to modify the brackets for my front door speakers. It took work, but from memory there was a set of tabs on the outside of the plastic bracket that prevented it from sitting properly. Once those were cut off they worked well. From memory, I initially thought certain holes might need to be bored out, but that wasn't it. So, short answer is that out of the box they absolutely did not work on my 2015 Camry. I did get them to work with some sort of modification, but it was a struggle. But they have a lot of different bold patterns on them for different designs, which may work for youbout of the box. Or need modifying like I had to do. Sorry that I don't have a definitive answer.
