You got to have this for your pick up truck or look at a gaping hole. I was able to modify this pocket to mount a tachometer in it.

Pros: Fits perfectly and can be modified for other purposes other than a storage compartment. I installed a tachometer and custom faceplate in my truck. A co worker mounted a docking station for his cell phone. My neighbor installed his GPS in his truck.

Cons: none

Installed easily and looks great! Only issues are on the right side of the pocket there is a small gap, but hardly seen. The other is that there is not a lip on the pocket to keep small items from sliding out. Neither of these issues are a killer on the use of the pocket.

Pros: Look Great use for that empty space

Cons: VERY small gap on right side No lip on the bottom edge

Perfect fix

Overall, 5/5. If is a cool idea to have a pocket there vs. a hole. But there isn't anything to prevent stuff from falling out. Installed in 89 pickup truck. K series.

Pros: It looks cool. And is semifunctional.

Cons: Stuff will fall out.

Not a whole lot to say about this. It fit perfect, looks much better than leaving a hole in the dash. I'm sure in some situations this would be very useful, I live in the hills and nothing stays in it since the bottom is flat and what ever I have tried to put in here slides out going up hill. A door or at least a lip on the bottom would make this much more useful to me. I ended up finding a cardboard box that fit in it snuggly and duct taped my cell phone holder to it.

Pros: good fit, looks good

Cons: stuff slides out while driving

This filled in the spot the old stereo was in my Suburban and matches great. Depending on how fast you drive what you put in this thing may or may not stay in there, but it looks better than a hole in the dash or a non-functioning stereo being left there.

Pros: Looks good and installs easy.

Cons: Doesn't hold things very well.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

the detailed directions and the detailed pictures that Crutchfield sends with your order are exactly what I needed to make sure I removed the correct part in the correct order, they should name all the detailed info they send, " System install for Dummies", they make it that simple. this was the best buying experience I've ever had, and they were there every step of the way until completion. thru the internet, phone, instructions, equipment. I will never shop again at any other electronics company, Crutchfield made it clear why they have been around as long as they have been. They are the best at what they do by far..

Pros: It is everything you hope it will be then some..

Cons: That I didn't use Crutchfield before now.

It does it's job by filling in the hole in the dash left by removing the factory radio controls. The design could be better to not allow the items in the pocket to fall out when the vehicle is in motion.

Pros: Easy install, Great fit.

Cons: Nothing stays in the pocket when the vehicle is in motion.

Automatic content eject

1992 Chevrolet Cheyenne
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This fills the hole where the radio control head once lived. However, it needs a lip on the edge to prevent the entire content of the pocket to be dumped in your lap at the first movement of the vehicle. It would be nice to leave USB sticks or the remote in the pocket. But they will be "auto-ejected" as soon as the vehicle moves. A few layers of stick-on foam edging will do the job.

A cubby for me to put my remote how perfect is that! For my JVC stereo with the tiny remote I am going to have to put some velcro on the remote and the cubby hole to make sure it doesn't fly out when I I am driving.

Pros: A cubby hole is very thoughtful.

Cons: Slick as snot for smaller items like change or something that does not have a rubberized surface or a few grams of weight about it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This add-on was a nice bonus from Crutchfield, as they reduced its price when bought with my receiver and accessories. The fit is perfect, and it looks good. Problem is that after installation, the bottom of the pocket lies flat, so anything I put in this pocket doesn't stay for long; it slides or rolls right out. Solution, I placed a rubber rib along the bottom inside edge, creating a small lip.

Pros: Looks good, easy install

Cons: Bottom of pocket lies flat, so bad in holding items inside, as they fall out easily.

I am glad that GM thought of this little item. I got a new stereo to install and I wasn't sure what to do with the old radio since the new stereo was going where my factory tape player was at. When I saw that this was available, I was ecstatic, and the price that Crutchfield was selling it to me for was even better. Great company and I will definitely consider purchasing with them in the future.

Pros: Easy Install, Nice Look
