After trimming the support brackets (easy mod with angle cutters and a bit of sanding) the bracket slid right on, then the sleeve, then the larger mounting bracket. Every piece fit right, just took a second to fine tune it and bend the tabs on the sleeve to keep it in place. Feels slightly flimsy at first, but once mounted it is snug as a bug. Not sure why others are having problems, just take a second to fine tune it and it will fit and look great. Does much better then any of the other radio mounts I've used before. Plus this has a mounting spot for an eq or other device below the radio. Pros: Great fit, good final look and a mounting slot for another device (going to convert mine to a center channel) Cons: Just takes a second to fine tune the fit for a great look, not really a con Imo though. Cons: have to cut out braces from factory, i understand its for protection during shipping but just inconvient trying to trim out Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 works well for what it was intended. Written By Oldfatcowboy, Kansas City, MO on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 Works well for what it was intended and as it was FREE, I haven't much to complain about. Pretty simple installation and seems relatively secure. The bottom of the panel doesn't connect to anything so it seems a bit flimsy. Like most I would have loved to have yet another cubby-hole to store stuff but this item is designed to accommodate a stereo and an EQ not a pair of sunglasses. The cover panel for the EQ opening snaps easily in place and looks fine. Pros: Easy to use, comes close to matching the interior colors. Cons: A bit flimsy on the bottom. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 3 out of 5 Does its job. Written By JakeT, Minot, ND on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 This kit does its job. It is not the most attractive addition to my dashboard but it blends with all the other cheap, injection molded plastic that GM likes to put in their vehicles (my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer). Pros: Works Cons: Bland. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 1 out of 5 Did not fit Written By John G, Alexandria, VA on Thursday, November 10, 2011 This adapter (radio/blank) came with a Kenwood KDC-X695 for installation in a 2005 Chevy Colorado. Once installed the escutcheon (radio faceplate trim used to cover installation aluminum box edge) would not fit under or over the factory plastic trim. Called CF tech who advised I should file the edges... really? on a shiny piece of plastic? I said that would look terrible and he said he'd send something different. He sent kit 142GM1583B (radio/pocket) that has a separate flat piece that replaces the radio escutcheon so it all worked out. Pros: Nothing. Cons: Fit the car radio frame and the radio but factory plastic trim will not fit with this unit. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Run of the mill dash kit Written By , New Hampshire on Monday, September 05, 2011 Nothing special about this. Just your average dash kit. It works as advertised and its free from Crutchfield which is always nice. The only down side is, I wish the space below the Head Unit was a cubby hole instead of a blank plate. Takes away from its functionality just a tad. Thats why 4 stars instead of 5 was given. But it does the job. Was this review helpful? I also really wanted a storage space below the radio instead of the blank supplied but was told they don't have this. So I went online and found a kit with a storage space built in below the radio and additional brackets to secure my Pioneer DEH-P6200BT to the kit. It was money well spent. Too bad it's was not offered originally. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
