I installed my double din radio in my 2004 cadillac cts. The Dash kit does not fit a double Din radio. Its slightly too big and its made for one din. I had to cut a strip that went across the middle and then ductape the radio from the back so it wont rattle... But yanno Crutchfield said it works with a little creativity anything can I guess

Stereo Dash Kit for Cadillac CTS

The dash kit comes in two colors, black and grey. I ordered the grey and it matches almost perfectly. It was easy to install and makes the aftermarket unit look like a factory unit. I am very pleased with the results.

The radio I purchased with this sits really far back. I wish the dash kit allowed the radio to be more flush with the dash. I also had to saw off the middle piece of the kit for it to support double din radios. Literally had to saw through hard plastic. They couldn't make that middle piece removable? So now if I need to go back to single din I'll need to buy another dash kit.

Pros: Fits snug, perfect in my vehicle

Cons: Versatility (going from dd to sd), radio sits deeper than desired

Flimsy, hard to work with, has top and bottom but no identifier to let you know before installing radio. Double din pioneer did not fit in harness had to customise to make fit. Once put together had to use a/c vent and controls to hold it in place because it felt like attached pieces were gonna snap off.

Pros: Cosmetic

Cons: Pretty much everything

The bracket is a perfect fit for my 2006 CTS and matches the factory molding for the HVAC system underneath. Really compliments the install making it look seamless. Would highly recommend to any Cadillac owner looking to replace the OEM radio

The kit is just as described ... Perfect fit and made the install of a double DIN head unit easy. Cool feature is the ability to do a single DIN an add a dash pocket. The color match is pretty close - the original dash has a paint coating which has a little different texture and the light reflects a little different, but you have to know what you are looking for to really notice. I am very happy for the convenience of the kit and could not have done an after market head unit without it.

Pros: Easy conversion to aftermarket and perfect fit.

Cons: Having to figure out what to do with the original unit....

Fits and looks great. Color matched perfect. Only thing is . That lower right corner doesnt fit exactly when mounted. . Not that big of a deal. The head unit plugs make it so it doesnt . Fit exact..

Color matched exactly, good overall fit and a complete kit. The Passenger side of the molding has a slight gap on the vertical upright of the unit, where the molding meets the dash. Not bad enough to initiate returning the unit but a noticeable flaw and only on the one side. Too bad because the color and fit is great. Either way it turned out nice with my Sony XAV 70 BT.

I don't fully understand what you mean by covering the knobs. However, I used the kit to install a double DIN receiver and I think if fits the dash and the receiver for a perfect fit. Hope this helps. [ NATHANIEL  Apr 02, 2014 ]
hello i bought this kit for my 2006 cts. the dash panel covers the entire stock opening quite nicely. from side to side and top to bottom of the original factory panel. this includes the volume knob areas. i recommend it highly. thank you. [ NICHOLAS J  Mar 25, 2014 ]
I didn't use the kit because I did a different kind of install where I was able to retain the DIC and make it look factory installed with an aftermarket navy unit [ CLUITE  Mar 25, 2014 ]
Yes those knows are apart of the factory unit and the face plate covers everything nicely [ CARLTON  Mar 25, 2014 ]
Depending on the type of dash board you have it will fit. I had a 2006 CTS so it came out like a block and that is what will cover the space. . [ EDDIE C  Mar 25, 2014 ]
I used this in my sons 2007 Cadillac CTS and YES it does cover the whole dash. RG [ BONNIE  Mar 25, 2014 ]
Yes it does, it replaces all the navigational buttons, knobs and DVD/CD changer [ Anthony  Mar 25, 2014 ]
Yes it covers the whole thing. The knobs and side trim are actually part of the radio. Its one whole unit that all comes out together and the new trim fills the dash opening perfectly [ DAVE  Mar 25, 2014 ]
Your Information Display will be removed, so you will no longer have the mileage, temperature, tire pressure, etc. that you used to have. You will also lose the fader control with your new head unit. These are drawbacks with this Model/Year of Cadillac, but what you gain as far as connections with your new head unit is immeasurable. [ STEPHANIE M  Jan 10, 2014 ]
No it will not.Climate control is a separate unit. [ MITCHELL S  Jan 09, 2014 ]
From the mini computer yes, no warnings will display. You can however still use the heater and ac functions via the bottom portion. [ ANDREW  Jan 09, 2014 ]
No, the receiver kit replaces from below the top vents to above the AC controls. [ CHRIS  Jan 09, 2014 ]
No the ac/heater control panel sits below the radio so it does not affect the function of it. But u will lose any info that runs through the radio like your outside temp or tire pressure [ DAVE  Jan 09, 2014 ]
I was afraid that I was making a mistake but my new radio has so much more to offer . Besides sounding better it automatically mates up with my phone and sirius xm radio . I don't miss it at all. [ CARL W  Jul 28, 2014 ]
It is fairly important but it's a personal choice. Remember all you have now is a check engine light to help you . Keep that in mind [ MELVIN  Jul 27, 2014 ]
I don't really miss it. Just make sure the setting is what you want. It was worth it considering the flexibility it provides with the new sound system and bluetooth. I would do it again if given the same choices. [ EDWARD C  Jul 27, 2014 ]

Don't miss it bc the features of the pioneer far outweigh the Vic . The head unit is outstanding. [ MICHAEL  Jul 26, 2014 ]
I decided not to use this part at the last minute, after using information i gained on the Cadillac forum site i was able to retain the DIC. [ FRANK  Jul 25, 2014 ]
Not really. I find that I took care of the car on my own, more than anything I was on it better than the computer. Just buy yourself an ODP 2 if your check engine light ever comes on. [ ANDREW  Jul 25, 2014 ]
I don't miss it really. Although info like MPG Avg/Live MPG were useful, but stuff you could live without. [ CHRIS  Jul 25, 2014 ]
Honestly, a little bit. I ran out of gas because there is no sensor. If you check your gauges often you get used to it pretty quick. [ MICHEL  Jul 25, 2014 ]
Our cts was a base model and did not have the info canter, we loved our receiver and we also converted the steering wheel controls, worked great, but since have traded the cts and now have super snake. [ LEILANI  Jul 25, 2014 ]
since I have upgraded to a sts 2007. in my cts, no i didn't miss it. In my sts i would, as the headunit is 70% more integrated into the car. Using a line driver converter just doesn't hold up in performance as the "direct connect" . But at the moment my only option for aftermarket bass without losing functionality is the above method. [ MELISSA  Jul 25, 2014 ]
No not really. The only thing that I seem to miss every once in awhile is the outside temperature. Other then that the overall increase in sound quality overrides the lose of knowing how hot it is outside. [ BONNIE  Jul 25, 2014 ]
