The Camaro's heated seats, hazard lights, lock and unlock controls are also retained. Warranty: 1 year.

Installation Note: If you plan on keeping the GM satellite radio tuner and your Camaro does not have a Driver Information Center screen, you'll need to buy a separate dash-mount screen to display satellite radio and iPod info.

Product Research

Features

Vehicle Compatibility: The Metra Turbo Kit 2 (99-3010S) is designed specifically for the 2010-up Chevy Camaro (both amplified and non-amplified factory systems). The 99-3010S allows you to replace your GM factory stereo with an aftermarket stereo and retain important factory functions, which otherwise would be lost.

Automotive Install Kit w/ Integrated LCD & Climate Control: The installation kit will fit most single-DIN or Double-DIN aftermarket head units (a pocket is included for Single-DIN installations. The kit features high-grade ABS plastic and is contoured to match your vehicle's factory dashboard color and texture. The blue LED illuminated climate control display and soft-touch buttons let you retain full functionality of your vehicle's climate control system. The kits button layout also retains heated seats, hazards lights, and lock and unlock controls.

Radio Replacement Module: The included radio replacement interface module allows the replacement of the factory radio in your 2010-up Chevy Camaro with an aftermarket head unit. This interface module allows you to retain factory features such as OnStar, Bluetooth, steering wheel control (optional interface required), Aux input, and warning chimes. The interface module also provides data bus driven outputs such as retained accessory power (RAP), vehicle speed sensor (VSS), illumination, reverse trigger, and parking brake.

  • Retained Accessory Power (R.A.P.): The ignition power source of most GM vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened. This feature is called the R.A.P. (retained accessory power). The 99-3010S is designed to retain this feature.
  • OnStar Compatible: The Metra Turbo Kit 2 (99-3010S) is designed to retain the factory OnStar emergency services system that would normally be lost when your factory radio is replaced by an aftermarket head unit.
  • Warning Chimes: The 99-3010S OEM integration kit retains your vehicle's factory warning chimes.
  • Aux Input: To retain the vehicle's factory Aux input, your aftermarket head unit must have a rear-panel Aux input (male mini to female stereo RCA adapter may be required, sold separately).
  • Bluetooth: The Metra Turbo Kit 2 (99-3010S) retains your factory Bluetooth functionality.
  • Navigation Outputs: The 99-3010S provides a VSS (vehicle speed sense), Parking Brake, Mute, and a Reverse Gear output to make installing an aftermarket Navigation radio simpler and less time consuming.
  • Optional Steering Wheel Control Interface: The included wiring harness features a right-angle 3.5mm connector that lets you keep your GM vehicle's OEM steering wheel controls via the optional Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (item number 120ASWC1, sold separately).

Optional Vehicle Customization LCD: The Metra Turbo Kit 2 (99-3010S) allows you to change certain factory vehicle customization items when the Axxess XIA-LCD  is used (120XIALCD, separately).

Aftermarket Radio Connection: The Metra Turbo Kit 2 (99-3010S) features the following hardwire connections to your aftermarket head unit and factory system.

Q
Will I retain the use of the stock gm microphone for phone calls or will I be forced to use the aftermarket head unit mic?

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

What are all of the aditional pieces needed to make this work 100% just like the factory unit? Can I use an aftermarket amp with this unit? Onstar, steering wheel controls, climate controls, outside temperature, all that good stuff. 2015 Camaro 1LT coupe

I have a 2011 Camaro and have been looking at the Metra adapter and the Scosche GM5201AB adapter as well. I have seen a lot of mixed reviews on the Metra kit, which is the better of the two products? Thanks for your time, Chris

I HAVE A 2010 CAMARO RS.I HAD A NAVIGATION SYSTEM INSTALLED, USING THE METRA KIT. IT LOOKS AND WORKS VERY WELL. IN MY OPINION, THE METRA LOOKS BETTER THAN THE SCOSCHE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT CAME WITH THE CAR.

I've had the Metra Kit installed with the Kenwood DNN990 screen since last summer and I haven't had a problem at all with it. I know a few people who have the Scosche kit and they're constantly having problems. Their problems consist of shorten distance on keyless entry, screen freezing, or kit not working. From what I heard, there isn't a fix to any of their problems and this has been going on for a year now. Stay away from it! I prefer the look of the Scosche over the metra kit, but I will take a Metra kit without any problems any day of the week. Also, if you purchase the Metra Kit make sure to get the kit that allows you to use the steering wheel controls. I hope this helps in your decision!

Chris, I purchased the metra kit and it had everything you will need to wire your after market radio. In addition it had some cool futures like being able to change the stick man figure to a woman. Trevor

Christopher, I tried first Scosche GM5201AB because looks nicer than Metra but after too many issues with the firmware and defective parts with Scosche I decided to go with Metra (I tried two units and different issues between them). Metra has been working fine for me for the past 10 months or so. Maybe with some luck you could get the Scosche work for you but if you want to play safe I would recommend Metra. You can adjust the color of the screen to match it to your dashboard (not the blue buttons, they stay the same). I have a 2011 SS Camaro and that was my experience. I hope this helps with your decision and best luck!.

I think that the scosche adapter is much better

I personally only have experience with the metro kit. At the time, the schoshe was sold out and to be honest, I was gonna buy the schoshe. But nonetheless, I ordered the metro kit and it installed cleanly and works flawlessly. It's been on my 2010 camaro for about 6 months now and is still working great.
